I loved Kouandjio's comments today. He sounds like a true leader already. He does seem to be getting a little ahead of himself when saying that he'll talk to players if he sees things that don't indicate they're acting like winners based on what he's seen so far. The NFL is a different beast.
I think he'll be a long-time RT in this league, and hopefully he spends his career here.

Watkins is the only first rounder without a confirmed number now.
With voluntary workouts coming on the 16th and the rookie minicamp happening from the 17-19th I think we'll know soon. Preston Brown is the only rookie with a confirmed number as he took 52.
-
I'd take him. We have a second rounder to burn.
No need... Would be pissed if it happened.
-
Johnson has a big cap hit and getting up there in years so he's hard to move and he can't do much worse than Fitz. Johnson runs deep routes and longer than normal post patterns. Not Fitz's strong points.
He isn't going to be hard to move. He still had 109 catches and 1400 yards last season. They could still net a second round pick for him.

FWIW: Sammy Watkins is now listed as number 83 on Wikipedia.
-
I don't want Watkins to go with 83. It's already been done, and it didn't really workout. If the last time special permission was given worked out, then maybe, but let's just avoid that situation. Evans had a reason to wear 83, Watkins doesn't really have one.
Go with 16 or 17.

Next year's draft class is deep at the RB position, for the record. So they could wait.
Guys like Todd Gurley, TJ Yeldon, Mike Davis, Melvin Gordon, Karlos Williams, Duke Johnson...
-
Moeaki should give up 82
CBF
For who? Watkins said he doesn't want a number in the 80s.
-
@JoeBuscaglia: If I'm to believe the hoodie he's wearing, it appears as though new #Bills LB and 3rd round pick Preston Brown will be wearing no. 52.
-
My understanding was that 50-59 was basically okay for centers, but not guards or tackles. Seems to have gone out of vogue somewhat, possibly because expanding rosters have put a premium on those numbers.
Yea, I've always heard it as okay for centers only. However, Legursky wore 59 for us when plenty of numbers were available. And a Dolphins guard wore it recently.

The way I always think about the draft is that you're trading a pick for a player. KzooMike - that's some impressive work, but the net loss includes the 4th pick. The terminology when drafting a player is that you "used" that pick on him, but it's the same idea as trading it.
-
Anddddd? He was always at the Bills workouts. This is referencing what he was doing when there were no workouts going on with the team.
He never "worked out" the way a lot of guys did, but he always kept himself in very good shape, obviously.
Him being at the 49ers workouts is nothing new. Stop trying to spin it to be that.
-
Stevie Johnsons facebook page looks like he has already hit the field hard with training. He can't slack off like he did with the Bills. The 49ers won't accept that. I still wish we could of kept him one last year and then traded him after he had what could of been a rebound season.
He didn't slack off with the Bills. Sick of people just throwing bull **** out about the guy now that he's gone. He always worked hard and was there for workouts...

(No, I didn't do that)

They should hire the video people over at Sabres.com. This video was cool but pretty lame compared to what they do.
-
I'm trying to show that there is no talent in next years draft that's comparable to Sammy Watkins with the exception of Jameis Winston( if he comes out)
Far too early to say that. Likely not true.
-
Somehow this makes me think Hard Knocks is a possibility. I don't recall the team doing this type of thing in the past.
Probably because you haven't tried to look for it. Teams give inside looks at their draft rooms all the time after the draft. This was actually pretty low-key, because there have been plenty of times I've seen them actually release the video with all audio of what was said in the draft room.
-
except USA Today ranked Buffalo's draft 7th best out of 32 teams
Shhhhh.... You're ruining his, and many others', lazy narrative that claims that all media sucks and is out to get a team that hasn't made the playoffs in 300 years.
-
REALLY don't like hearing that Russ Brandon was in on any of the phone calls. He's not a football guy, period. Him being in the room is annoying enough. Actually being involved? Please stop it.
-
I feel like we're the only team without a single draftee's number revealed.
-
I'm not ready to think about this, nor would any mock draft say anything about the trade.

Making him a FA. You point is that he'd be on someone else's payroll?
No. Dareus had his fifth year player option exercised. He won't be a free agent until 2016.
-
the $$ will go towards signing a proven QB free agent should EJ not pan out...
Manning, Brees, Warner (Cardinals) were all QBs signed to revamp a team
Nobody on that level will be available. Guys like Cam Newton and Colin Kaepernick are there but they'll be sticking around with their current teams.
RD5, Pick #153: OG Cyril Richardson - Baylor University

Just realized that Cyril Richardson is the only rookie that isn't listed on the Buffalobills.com roster... Strange.
On the potential of cutting Williams: I read somewhere that he has no guarantees beyond year one and could easily be cut after year one.
