  1. Because no team wants to pick 2 good players per round instead of 1? I think it's a great idea. Look at all the mock drafts who predict who the Bills will take in round 2, now imaging getting 2 players instead of just 1 of them.

The Bills TE in round 1,

    Round 2 OT and FS

    Round 3 DE and OG

    Round 4 QB and CB

Except the talent is all dried up by the time you get to round 3/4.

  2.

The best player in this year's draft only had 3.5 sacks last year. If this is the case I would trade all of this year's picks for picks in future drafts.

People really cling to stats around here. Watch the film. He was double and sometimes triple teamed. Effort was low at many points, but nobody can play at the level he does sometimes on EVERY play. If they did they would be useless in crunch time. He doesn't get a huge contract right away, so he'll work his ass off to get there and beyond.

  3. I've spent an unbelievable amount of time on this year's draft (even more than last year's) because I just can't get my final mock down. So much that can happen this year. Last year was easier to project due to the QBs not being there.

  4. Okay. You can all be douches about it. I was just stating one person who also said they don't like Matthews. I know it sucks when somebody disagrees with you, but I think you'll be okay.

Personally, I don't like Matthews on film. As I said, I don't get the "feeling" with him like I do some other guys.

If it were as cut and dry as statistics then Matthews would be going much higher in this draft.

  5. I think EJ has the potential to be a star. We need to keep him on his feet.

Yeap. They need to give him a shot this season. If injuries or play continue to be a problem then we need to make a quick move.

In this league you don't need 3-4 years to make a decision on a player. With the new rookie wage scale you can move on much more easily.

  6. Which Matthews? If Jordan, he averaged 100 catches per season in the SEC. That speaks volumes! Not only that, but teams knew he was basically the only weapon Vandy had and still couldn't stop him. When I spoke of him in an earlier post the Reggie Wayne comparison stood out to me. I'm glad others thought the same.

Yes, Jordan. And one SEC fan I talked to about Jordan said that the reason he was so successful is because teams knew he was good and didn't focus on him. They knew that he alone wasn't going to beat them so they made sure nobody else could beat them.

  7. Matthews is just one of those players that I watch type and don't feel like he's that good. For the record, there are some very good NFL players who you can watch "highlight" films of and not get excited, so Matthews might end up being one of those players. I wouldn't hate the pick, but there are other guys who just give me more of a "feeling" than him.
