  1. No, but a helmet can dampen the impact that causes the brain to slap the inside of the skull.

You do know that you can get a concussion without even hitting you head, right? As K-9 pointed out, taking a shoulder, chest, back blow may have some sort of whiplash effect and cause a concussion. It is the old physics saying, an object in motion tends to stay in motion. The only thing that stops the brain is the skull, not a helmet.

  2. Once again, and for the umpteenth time, there is not now nor will there ever be a helmet that will prevent concussions. Period. End of discussion. It simply can't be done.

That said, the new technology that allows medical staff on the sidelines to determine in real time whether an impact threshold has been crossed, WILL mitigate damage simply because they will know right away to remove a player from the game. There is no getting your bell rung and returning to the game. I'm willing to bet that many serious concussions were the result of previously slightly concussed players returning to the game.

    GO BILLS!!!

    100% correct.

A concussion is a by product of the brain slapping the inside of the skull. No helmet can stop that.

  3. Already in:

    Kaepernick, Luck ,and Wilson.

In serious contention: RGIII and Ponder.

So glad we can win with Fitz.

Good young QBs, Dalton too, but if any of them had been in Buffalo, they wouldn't have been able to lead the Bills to the playoffs imo. I would still take any one of them to build around, but with this organization who knows if that could have been done the right way. I bet not.

  4. FWIW, I thought P Fewell did a respectable job as the Bills interm head coach and I liked what I saw from him in his short time as the head coach. Hind sight is 20/20 but I kinda wish they had kept Fewell as the head coach. Couldn't have been any worse than what has gone on the past 3 years.

  5. as far as I know, no mention was made about any out clause regarding Ralph's status or change in ownership. The only out is at the end of year 7, the Bills have a one-time option to buy out the final 3 yrs of the deal for around $28m. At any other time, they would need to pay the $400m buy out to get out of the lease.

Well that is good news. The presence of the Bills really help a lot of small business in the area. Without the Bills a rough economy would get worse in this area.
