  1. Yes. Actually I don't think its the mobility that saves Culpepper from so many sacks as it is his ability to maintain form in the pocket due to his size. It's really impressive to see.
  2. Speaking specifically about Culpepper, if it was any other QB he would have been sacked 15 times last night. The pressure applied by the Eagle D was seriously intense. Sometimes I think that Culpepper can't make a throw unless he has a defender right in his face...but he does and that's the bottom line.
  3. One of my pet peeves is the use of the word "loose" when someone clearly means "lose." How could the Bills loose to the Raiders!
  4. Freeney and Roy Williams stand out in my mind.
  5. That's because he would need the ability to feel emotion.
  6. If it brings Bledsoe any closer to being shown the door, then yes...he is worth the pick.
  7. The Bills poor running numbers are not a result of Henry being a bad RB. They are a result of the offense not being able to beat the blitz of the opposition. Defenses know that the way to stymie this offense is to blitz on every down. Having an extra 1 or 2 defenders in the backfield as soon as the ball is handed off is why the running game goes nowhere. Once the Bills show that they can pick up the blitz and make a team pay for it, then we will get our balanced offense back. If you want to blame Henry for anything, blame him for being a very mediocre blocker...not a bad runner. If McGahee can't block any better than Henry then the result will also be bad.
  8. Why should either of them sit against the Pats? Use them both! We are not taking enough advantage of our 1-2 punch. Bring in a pair of fresh legs and those fresh legs will run across the goal line instead of getting jammed up in a pile.
  9. Dear NavyBillsFan, Please consider using paragraphs next time. Thanks for your time. Your oldest fan. Mr. Wilson
  10. Happy b-day nobby.
  11. Here's the thing. After the next game (and subsequent loss) you will have another list of players that once they "stop making mistakes the Bills will start to win." And the loss after that you will have another list, and the loss after that. Some weeks the names will be the same, some weeks we'll add new players. Many of us here have been making this list for too long.
  12. Good points. Just a couple of comments. I'm not saying that Teague is the best center in the league, but don't buy the myth that Teague is somehow an undersized center. Do the research...compare him to other centers. You will find that he is more than adequate at the position. If Teague is undersized, then over 90% of C are undersized. I have no problems with your other O-line adjustments. I disagree with your last point. Focus on special teams for the 2005 draft? I can't see the reasoning. ST is a secondary postion. With the exception of the best KR or PR in the modern game, I don't know of any team that has focused on ST in the draft. If anyting, a team looks to draft a position and if the player happens to be scouted as strong in ST that is a bonus. You pointed out several weaknesses in the Bills starting lineup. Why not focus on those positions?
  13. After this game, I'm not convinced that the coaching staff hasn't been setting us up to go deeper down field. Our QB had several opportunities (with good protection) Sunday to throw the deep ball, but he elected to dump off to a back for minimal gain. Worst of all, on several occasions he skipped the ball to the receiver. He clearly looked down field but did not pull the trigger. Either our WRs aren't getting open, or Drew has lost his confidence in the deep ball.
  14. Surprised about Reed. I haven't seen him do anything but make catches so far this season. There was one play in particular where Reed was wide in the center of the field and Drew drilled the ball over Reed's head...much harder than necessary...and he came down with a nice catch. Of course, it is nearly impossible to judge his route running and separation without being at the game so I'll defer to your judgement. Thanks for the report.
  15. I agree with that (and the rest of your post), but it sure as hell isn't a team that I would pay to see.
  16. Good post. I quoted this portion because I was also impressed with McGee's ability to knife his way to the ball carrier. He's been a bright spot not only on ST, but in coverage. I rarely hear his name on defense and that's a good thing.
  17. I didn't notice that. Ugh, I could've done without knowing that nugget of haplessness.
  18. Good point. There is a distinction. Drew Bledsoe....good guy....QB past his prime.
  19. I like your plan! Let's give it a shot. What do we have to lose right?
  20. Sorry, but it starts with our offensive captain: Drew Bledsoe. And as far as going back to him with the Pats....those who live in the past, die in the past. It's time to start looking towards the future (or at least the present).
  21. 8) Lee Evans gets open, but not seen (until the end). I was afraid of this, but you can rarely see it unless you are at the game. Ugh, Drew just doesn't have the guts to throw downfield anymore. Evans had to be 20 ft open before Bledsoe would let fly.
  22. The running game at the goal line HAS been pathetic. The only plays that I remember were three runs straight up the gut. Two on the weak side and one on the strong side (today's fiasco). A little creativity here please coaches!!! And I don't mean gadget plays.
  23. If you went back to watch the tape of the game I bet you would come back here and at least edit out the "he made the throws" part of your post. Fact is, there were numerous occasions where Drew got a good look downfield and ended up trying to dump the ball off to an RB or FB. He missed several of those passes (as well as others further down field)...under pressure and with plenty of space. So, either the WRs are not getting open, or Drew has completely lost confidence and ability to get the ball downfield vertically. I think that the fact that Drew got MORE time than in past seasons to make the throws (that he didn't ultimately execute) is the reason why there are so many of us finally giving up on the guy.
  24. Me too brother. GB looked a heck of a lot better on MNF.
  25. I never thought that I would criticize Bledsoe for being too durable.
