  1. Mike Williams had some very serious problems last year as you are aware. He is going to make $ 9,000,000 this year as an average RT. That was a horrible draft pick and worse contract. Stop me when I'm going too fast. ---------------------------- Seriously, you are happy with this selection and present situation?
  2. Sorry, I forgot you are a Donahoe apologist.
  3. "We just didn't make plays." "We needed to execute better."
  4. Bledsoe wasn't the # 4 overall in the draft 2002 draft and isn't costing us $ 9,000,000 this year.
  5. He will get a by this year because of our rookie QB. He'll be working that angle as soon as training camp starts.
  6. TD would never cut him. His ego won't let him. We will be suffering with this guy for several years, unless he just quits or doesn't show up.
  7. The thing is, the guy had a weight problem, and not enough quickness to play left tackle. so why do you draft him and project to him to do so? TD really has a bad habit of trying this and this one really is costing us. We were also coming off a 3-13 season. You move down in the draft and try to get additional picks.
  8. Apparently TD didn't get the memo.
  9. Good. Another poster says guard is also strong. Maybe we go all O-Line this year. I wouldn't have a problem.
  10. This is going to be a tough one for O'le Whitey. If: A. MW starts at left tackle and fails which he probably will, bad move and TD looks really bad. Again. B. MW stays at right tackle and we have to keep paying him All-Pro left tackle money. O'le Whitey has a lot of explaining to do. I think RW is getting a little impatient.
  11. How about getting MW to show up in camp, drop a couple LB's, and start acting like a professional athlete being paid $ 9,000,000.
  12. I guess my problem with that draft is we were coming off a 3-13 season. You don't reach that high in the first round, you trade down and get players of value. Give yourself a chance.
  13. I agree completely. What the heck was the rationale of signing a RT to such a large amount?
  14. I think the QB position was upgraded with the switch to JP.
  15. I think he gets overly creative, drafting someone for a position they are not suited for and trying to convert them, or reach. R. Denney J. Reed Coy Wire I would like to see him stop trading away picks and trying to move up.
  16. I agree MW does not play LT. That being said, why the hell we sign him to such a huge deal as a LT? He will count $9 mill against the cap this year?
  17. during the draft. I am afraid what draft day magic he will work this year. At least we don't have a first round pick or even worse a HIGH first round pick. This years draft has been said to be weak. Are there any positions which are strong?
  18. Because we don't have one. Mike Williams is barely a RT, and him protecting the blind side of our rookie QB is really scary.
  19. You may be right, however I think this is a real gamble with MW looking extremely shaky at the beginning of the season, and unproven at LT at that. With a rookie QB? This could end up being a huge problem for our "nearing the end of his rope after the 2005 season" GM.
  20. Jennings was our best O-lineman? Maybe, maybe not. We need to rebuild the line anyway, again, or still.
  21. Too bad he can't seem to negotiate a playoff birth!
  22. I agree 100 %. NO real success and I would expect this season to not be much different, however we do have a rookie QB so once again TD will get a pass.
  23. Nobody seems to want to hear this. I think TD is always selling NEXT season, which never seems to come. This years excuse will be rookie QB.
  24. I think Mike Williams was a BIG mistake, and we will be paying for it for several years. That is stupid money for a right tackle.
  25. Great, a small, slow wide receiver. See Josh Reed.
