  1. They haven't usurped power. As you mentioned, they are doing what they are supposed to do, which is interpret the laws made by the Legislature.
  2. <sigh> Prohibits a court of the United States from relying upon any law, policy, or other action of a foreign state or international organization in interpreting and applying the Constitution, other than English constitutional and common law up to the time of adoption of the U.S. Constitution. I am guessing that this is in response to O'Connor's statements regarding the use of international law in forming Supreme Court decisions. Provides that any Supreme Court justice or Federal court judge who exceeds the jurisdictional limitations of this Act shall be deemed to have committed an offense for which the justice or judge may be removed, and to have violated the standard of good behavior required of Article III judges by the Constitution. This is just insane.
  3. Rule #1: Always blame an inanimate object. Rule #2: If that cannot be done, try to find a single person (other than yourself) to blame for your failings. Blaming a group does not work unless they are an eeeeevil corporation. Rule #3: If Rule #2 does not work, return to Rule #1.
  4. I am here to help.
  5. Families have become two-income households. Couple that with Americans working longer hours means that parents are spending less time with their kids. Also, factor in the increase in single parent households. Also a factor is the empowerment of kids over authority figures. Try disciplining a child in school. You will have the ACLU all over you before you knew what happened. Try disciplining a child in your home. Family Services will have you locked up and your kid will be in a foster home. Blaming inanimate objects is the easy way out.
  6. I would like to see how this compares to other elections, to see if it is a Party issue or a candidate issue.
  7. She had a singing career before? She must be using a pretty loose definition of singing.
  8. No matter how hard you try to keep the alias different from the regular account, the more you post with it, the more it becomes like the original.
  9. It is getting absolutely embarassing now. I wonder if she will be around next year.
  10. Honestly, I do not see much of a difference between this account and the regular account used for posting, in terms of the content.
  11. Prediction: Anthony, Scott and Nikko as the bottom 3. Anthony will be gone.
  12. There are better pics on her website: Link Thingy She does have a sexy voice, but her on-air personality is annoying. She is still hot, though.
  13. There is no question that he needs to go over the Oil-For-Food thingy, but the other items I mentioned were to convince the people on the fence about his leadership. I am trying to think of the last international crisis where he was effective? This is where the UN is supposed to be effective, and I haven't seen anything. Hell, even with aid programs for the tsunami, they readily admitted that they are not equiped to handle it. What good are they if they: 1) cannot handle a humanitarian crisis 2) cannot handle a political crisis 3) cannot handle terrorism 4) cannot/will not handle WMD issues
  14. I may be misinterpreting your statements, but you seem to be focusing on just the Oil-For-Food thingy. What about the little to no effective actions regarding Haiti, the Sudan, the Congo, North Korea, Iran, etc?
  15. Once you are dead, yes, if you did not take the proper precautions before you died. The point would be to fight to make sure the politicians do not impliment something like this in the first place. Also, make sure your wishes are detailed in a legal document (Living Will, POA, etc). It makes it easier for your family to fight for you after you are gone or when you can't fight for yourself.
  16. Well, you wouldn't want to make the UN look bad by forcing his resignation.
  17. That is great to hear!!
  18. I agree with you that percentages that small usually fall within the error cited with the study. I just wanted to provide additional data to the comment made.
  19. Oil-For-Food Haiti Congo Sudan North Korea etc. Should he still have his job after being an absolute failure with these and other "actions," or should he be allowed to put his reform plan into place? FOX Thingy
  20. Yes, they would be infringing on your rights.
  21. Did you stand up?
  22. Yes, I know Purple pens do not have the negative connotation that Red pens have. I also saw an article on the abolishment of spelling tests in one school district. See, with spelling tests, there are only "right" and "wrong" answers. To tell the kid that they are wrong could scar them for life. Therefore, if you eliminate the spelling tests, then you will not have to potentially scar the child by telling them that their answer is wrong. BTW, thanks for the compliments. I have continued by quest beyond the campaign, so hopefully it will have an impact. I am now on a larger stage (then the write-in campaign), so I will be able to reach more people.
  23. When will people finally stand up and say, "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!"
  24. Not necessary. If you like to travel or if you travel for your job (where there is a possibility of international travel), it is nice to have it before you need it. It saves on having to get things rushed. I know that I have had to get visas rushed, but I already had the passport.
  25. Of course it is called an opinion. Did you think it was something else?
