  1. You did?  I thought you went to Rutgers?

You know, I've been by Rutgers before.  Drove down Warren St. to get to NJPAC.  Lots of puddles of drool on the street.  Which was yours?

    ?

Where did you drive past? The law school in Newark?

The main campus is in New Brunswick, you dimwit. :D You must be hanging around HA too much.

  2. Since the the OC job's salary is paid by the publicly funded school, and thus the state of florida, technically the Offensive Coordinator position MUST be posted as a state job opening on Florida's state job website. When Jeff officially resigns at seasons end, the state must post the job for a certain amount of time. On the website, anyone can apply for the job. Sure i'm not qualified, but that's not going to stop me.

Plus, with any job opening, they must respond to your application.

    Ramius for FSU's offensive coordinator!

Haha, and if you get called for an interview, you can tell them what complete assclowns they are for messing up the program!

  3. I'm not a fan of rematches either, but I think it's different if it is a rematch from September vs. a rematch from a month before the Bowls start.

Depending on the score and quality of the game, if Ohio State loses at home on Saturday and a week later ND beats USC on the road, I think the argument could be made that we are playing better football *right now* and therefore deserve to be in the title game more than OSU.  And as much as I dislike it, College Football picks it's champions on the "what have you done lately" scale.

Everyone loves to point out Notre Dame's inconsistencies, but Ohio State has not exactly cruised their way through everyone.  The Penn State win was unconvincing (a team we beat 41-17) and the scare two weeks ago was ugly.  Now almost all championship teams have these types of games, so I'm not trying to say that Ohio St. is undeserving.  Just that they haven't strung together 11 straight dominations.  If they take care of Michigan, then there is no doubt they are the cream of the crop.

If Rutgers wins out, then I still think they shouldn't be in the game.  But I think it will be very hypocritical for the BCS not to put them in.  It was a given that if WVU (and even Louisville) went undefeated, they would have a good a shot as anyone to play in the Fiesta Bowl.  So why does that change if a different Big East team goes undefeated?  It shouldn't.  But like I said, I don't think they should necessarily go just for the reason that I didn't think WVU should necessarily go.  But I wouldn't cry about it if they made it.

I'd rather see a ND/OSU matchup for the NC than a Mich/ND matchup.

To me, ND matches up better to OSU than Michigan. If RU can't make it, then I'm pulling for ND all the way.

  4. Let me guess...both the front and rear left side suspension components collapsed.  :D

On a serious note, how has your Fit been running so far? If this is your 1st vehicle with anti-lock brakes, be sure to familiarize yourself with their characteristics, what with the upcoming winter weather.

PS: My sister-in-law lives in Jersey - said everybody was on Cloud 9 after that amazing comeback victory over Louisville.

    Ass! :D:P

No, my last car had ABS. The Fit is running really well. Drives just like it did off the lot. The only complaint I have is the AC isn't as strong as I would like it, but oh well.

The RU win was amazing. I'm hoping they don't have a let down to Cincy.

  5. Trust me, I know the difference.  Rutgers would beat UB 42-0 this Saturday.  That's why in my post I said "I know- different teams, different times."  I wasn't trying to compare the two.

Right or wrong, Rutgers WAS a UB-type team just four years ago, and that reality isn't just overlooked because they beat Louisville.  Schianno has done an incredible job fostering a winning environment.  But like you said, that takes time.  Taking Rutgers from "UB" to "Ohio State" takes a LOT longer than three years.  The players who considered attending Rutgers are not narrowing it down between LSU, Ohio State, USC, and the Scarlet Knights.  Maybe now they will, but they certainly haven't been.

UConn also made a similar transformation to their program, where they went from a bottom-feeder to a respectable squad.  The Big East facilitates that possibility because it is, in general, a very weak football conference.  They won a bunch of conference games and had an NFL-caliber QB.  Never, ever, would they have been mistaken with a top-tier team.

Rutgers did get lucky in some areas. Ray Rice was committed to Syracuse and Paul P got the boot.

Leonard came to RU after Rutgers was the only school to ffer his brother a scholarship.

Schiano had great success recruiting from S. Florida. Guys who didn't get offers from the big 3 down there were rip for the picking.

Now, we have the local Jersey kids (NJ is fertile recruiting grounds) pretty much throwing themselves at us.

  6. Tell that to Jonathon Ogden, Walter Jones and Orlando Pace.

And I'm not even sure Quinn is the best QB in the draft, that might just be Brohm from Louisville.

    836547[/snapback]

Rutgers exposed Brohm. Put any pressure on him up the middle, and he turns into Drew Bledsoe.

  7. What pro team do you guys play for? I played high school and college football and I never use the word us in trying to group myself with the NFL. Dont try and compare high school to the NFL its not even close.

    ;)

Maybe they're talking about the "create a player" function in Madden.

  8. Bad, bad companies.

Over a $1,000 for each vehicle they sell goes for health coverage - good coverage - to current and past workers, their spouses, widows, and their kids.

And a very decent pension, too.

    Bad, bad companies... :w00t:

And a car that dies at 80k miles and has problem after problem. ;)

  9. Different time, different team, I know- but UB beat Rutgers 34-10 in 2002, and then Rutgers won 24-10 in 2003.  Come on man.  Now they're supposedly ready to play in a national championship game?  Great story, but not likely.

Then you don't obviously follow CF as closely as you say you do. Look when Schiano came in. Terry Shea ran this program into the ground. Schiano couldn't fix it overnight. It takes time.

The funny thing, is that RU is YOUNG. We have a great recruiting class for next year, and Anthony Davis is supposed to sign on soon.

If you don't believe in Schiano, look what he did with that Miami defense in '99-00.
