  1. It seems like a few schools do it right. Stanford, the ones Yolo mentioned, but if I'm a QB who wants to play in the pro's (and play well), I've got very few options. Not some big names like USC, Florida, Florida state... It seems like there has to be a reason we haven't seen a paradigm shift in offensive philosophy, is their a college rule I don't know about that is keeping this spread stuff alive? Why would a good HS QB go to one of these schools that won't have him pro ready?

I'd say USC is a probably the best option. FSU will have their last two starting QB's taken in the 1st rd.

College coaches are under the same circumstances as pro guys. Short time to prove a recruit is the right guy. Look at Texas A&M they had a top recruit transfer to SMU in Matt Davis, Kenny Hill will leave after tearing it up for a few games. Now they've got Kyle Allen and the top QB recruit coming in. One is a a Freshman the other a Soph, one will leave. Coaches on both levels can't develop guys. Win now or get fired.

  2. The only answers that one could give in this poll and not expose the fact that they have no historical context and do not understand the game of football whatsoever, are Montana, Brady, unitas or I suppose the nobody option. I don't care about manning's beautiful mind or Marino's rocket arm. To get inside the big boy room you need the hardware. That's it.

    Elway has some hardware.

  3. I was thinking probably not bringing Spiller back but when you check the FA runningbacks, not so fast. Gore is 31, Murray likely going back to Dallas, Mathews coming off an injury and rest are filler - terrible choices. Spill might be back

From Jerrah Jones on the potential re-signing of Bryant and Murray, “Is it possible? Yes,” owner Jerry Jones recently explained. “But if you just look at it from the standpoint of dollars and cents, it probably doesn’t look reasonable.”

Running backs aren't gonna be given the big money they got in the past. If it's between Bryant and Murray I think Dallas keeps Bryant.

  4. foles is 14-4 I believe under Kelly. For what its worth was a pro bowler last year and I believe was MVP. he is what 26. Chip Kelly does not follow the Bills past coaching tree(s) with players or philophsy. meaning he is the innovative coach Marrone was supposed to be. That said Even though he (Kelly) may covet Mariotta who he coached for only one year. i doubt he unlike some front office staffers in the league would put all his chips in on Mariotta. Foles isn't going anywhere if anything he sits on the bench. he is a Prospect that many teams would like on their team. kelly and the Eagles can make QB's look average at worst.

Kelly's record without Foles starting isn't good.

GM's are afraid to draft QB's. Miss on a CB early and oh well. Miss on A QB early and they usually get fired.

  5. Why does everyone think Connor Cook is so good? I mean, he's definitely a top 10 pick next year, but he's not a "once in a decade" type talent like Andrew Luck. I've watched him plenty this year. Am I missing something?

Is he definitely a top 10 pick next year? Brett Hundley was definitely a top 15 pick before this season, Matt Barkley was definitely a top 10 pick going into his SR season.

  6. RGIII had a little success out of the gate, now teams have film on him- took away what he likes to do. It's on him to make an adjustment - lots of stories on him being a pain in the ass as well. In short we know where RG's ceiling is and it's not very high. EJ may never get off the ground but his potential is higher and he's not a locker room cancer.

EJ is a much more gifted passer then RG or Kaep or Russ Wilson but there is more to the game than just throwing it

Manuel isn't as talented nor a more gifted passer than any of them and I don't think Bob Griffin or Kaep are very good.

  7. If the Pegulas talked to Jon Gruden for advice -- he told them to hire Hue...not saying this happened but I think Gruden would have told them that EJ can develop and that Hue would be the best coach to put EJ in situations to succeed.

I think Jon Gruden is a good coach. On MNF it seems he is afraid to say anything but every player is good. To me it sounds like he's afraid to criticize anyone because he's gonna be a HC again at some point. If his opinion is the same it is on MNF I'd trust a blind person above him. If he analyzed like he was gonna be a coach again then I'd believe him.

Gruden is one name that's not been brought up but taking him off MNF and as coach of the Bills is a double win.

  8. Another way of looking at it: the worst QB to win a Super Bowl in the last 10 years is Eli Manning (or Joe Flacco, take your pick). The worst QB to even take his team to a Super Bowl in the last 6 years is Eli Manning (or Flacco). The last time a QB the quality of a Kyle Orton went to a Super Bowl was 2007 (Grossman). The last time a QB the quality of a Kyle Orton won a Super Bowl was 2001 (Dilfer, since Brad Johnson was a cut above Orton). It is still almost all about the QB ...

I'd say Kaepernick is worse than Eli and Flacco, and it really isn't close.

The Cardinals would've had a better chance with Jeff Tuel than Lindlay.
