  1. Dear God, In addition to the note from my Bills brethen Todd, I submit the following. I know I have asked for this every morning and night since I was 6 or 7 but please big man, let this be the year. You have allowed us so much already--but just keep this streak going for 5 more games. Thanks for TKO, Drew, Fletch, Lawyer, Evans, Willis, Monster Sam, Big Mike, Chris V., Terrence, Troy and all the other gifts you have given us the last 3 years....just 5 games...I believe and billieve.... Thanks for blessing me with so much....and I hate to ask for something so insignificant...but let it happen....Amen. Joe and all the F's
  2. By the way...I guess I missed this...but Donahoe in an interview with a Pittsburgh media outlet before the season said on the record that the Steelers made a mistake keeping Cowher over Him..This is a deep fued... And those who posted thinking i was suggesting MM ask TD to call plays--I was not--it was the decision of kneel vs. try to score not what plays to run..
  3. And the Bills now have a RB who seldom goes down at first contact or second for that matter....he is bound to break one soon....why not this week... How do you like your stiff arm Troy...baked, broiled or just down your throat...
  4. Think about Sproles and McGee back on kicks....teams would just give us the ball on the 40......
  5. His name is Darian Darant. He currently plays QB for a school in Chapel Hill, NC. He is sneaky fast--4.5 or so, strong (360 Bench, 550 Squat, 300 Clean) and built like a little freight train (5-11, 217)....he is a great athlete who has been underexposed bucause UNC has been so bad.... Mularkey and Clements want a slash---this kid is it....can be had for probably a 5th rounder...maybe a fourth.... Darian Darant Bio
  6. Agreed John. But also throw in that the Steelers D is not going to want to see that #1 ranking shot to hell on the last day of the season particularly if the ranking goes to their highly respected Defensive Coordinator's understudy.....That's why I think early success is the key...there will be more reason to go on "break" early for the Steelers if the Bills move the ball..
  7. To be honest it doesn't set up real well for the Bills to have a big day running the ball. We tend to have more trouble with teams that play gap, and play risk taking instead of read and react. The Steeler LB's have very good lateral quickness, this is another trait that gives us problems. That said--I agree with AD--we need to commit to running even if we average less than 3 a carry... Our line has improved but they are still more effective with true straight ahead smash mouth than with the communication it takes to overcome a gap shooting quick D. Not having a TE threat hurts us in this game a well. If we can possibly hit a couple of big plays early...maybe a misdirection run (counter) or screen that Willis breaks for 30 and then a 30+ yard pass out of a 3 or 4 wide set--we might have a chance to slow them down a bit. The no huddle might also help us slow them down....if they dominate us early--it could be a very long day on O. The Steelers are 14-1 because of much more than Big Ben...this D is better than the Pats--better than we have faced all year.
  8. The Clydesdales are due to relieve themselves (#1 and #2) inside Edward Jones just before kickoff..72 and Smelly is the game time forecast...rumor has it this equine bodily function relief will occur right behind the Jests bench.
  9. I think it all went downhill after his mistress, Brenda Warner, left town....
  10. I don't mean to trivialize Sunday's game...because it will be a proverbial dog fight no matter who the Steelers put on the field. Games against the Steelers have been like an in-division game for us in the past--very hard fought--with one team usually clearly outplaying the other....but both teams knowing they have been in a battle. But if I had one question I would ask TD it would be the following: Bills are up by 2 touchdowns late in the fourth and Steelers just give up the ball on downs in their own territory. Mularkey calls up to the booth and says Tom--how do you want play these last Couple of minutes....what does Tom say? I think TD takes the high/PC road and says take a knee--but I think he wants to say throw the ball, use our timeouts and try to put another score on Cowher and Rooney....If we score -- Onside kick.....
  11. Kevin Gilbride (tee hee).... Don't listen to me I am still seething from that whipping they put on the Irish..
  12. I agree with you. We should take away Rich's posting privledges for this grave offense.....I am so mad I can't see straight.... Good article Rich--its also now on the home page---so everyone should be happy. TKO's quote gets the old excitement level up a bit more......
  13. Pete, TH--I love the guy's competitive fire, but he has dropped 60 pounds in the last 10 months or so....he is down to 240 and looks deflated...something is up with that....he said he has been focusing on cardio exercises--but don't you find it a little suspicious that he can do cardio stuff with his back as bad as it is.....I think he was a juicer who is drying out and is going to try to go clean and build back up. Again--just my opinion--but at least some of the signs are there.
  14. Not sure if this is right, but I think I remember reading Weiler is like 14 or 15--he may not have hit the big time yet with physical maturity. Maybe we should send him a Jills swimsuit calendar or something.....help move the process along.....it would definitely provide him another outlet and maybe reduce his anger.... He really hates TD--something personal happened there.....it would be interesting to find out what transpired. TD and Scott probably wouldn't recognize him as credentialed media. Its definitely a vendetta.
  15. I agree Alex needs work on his broadcast skills from several perspectives...but I have really enjoyed listening to him this year. I want an unabashed homer on Bills broadcasts and the insight he has provided as a team "insider" has been pretty interesting at points. Its been neat to have a guy in the booth who sits in some QB meetings every week and is basically Drew's best friend. I hope he gets to follow his dream of being a coach. I can see him back in Buffalo as QB coach in a couple of years when Sam Wyche is ready to retire for good....
  16. Its the CANE movement LA--- Citizens Against Nearly Everything....
  17. Every movement needs some contra's for balance. Jerry Sullivan (who is actually coming around a bit), Ice, this Weiler individual are the contras to the cowbell/billieve faction....take it for what its worth. As soon as the Bills lose--they will post that they are vindicated....which means we have 5 more games to win this season to prove them wrong. Weiler even sets that up in his diatribe--writing that the playoffs are not good enough -- only a Super Bowl team will do...he's covering his butt so he can say he is vindicated when we lose. Ice has done the same thing....but at least Ice has a sense of humor and has proven to be an okay guy in several circumstances over the years (at least I think so)......
  18. Good poll FFS. I shut off the second NE game and started doing work related stuff. I packed it in. I came back to life during the Seattle game, which I branded the first "real" test. This turnaround is akin to the Oilers playoff game. It would be a shame not to view the damage this team could do in the playoffs...but we need to stop a 13 game winning streak and get some help for that to happen.
  19. bflo--I have a feeling this is a "take a number" situation. Probably starts with Georgia, moves to David Glass (former CEO of Wal Mart who I think owns some interest), through John Shaw's office, into the rest of the front office, coaching staff, players, equipment manager, ball boy, stadium staff, fans and all the way to people who live in the greater St. Louis area and don't care about football. Martz is just not a loveable guy--he's like the anti-Elmo.
  20. I am looking at this from the motivation factor. Evil stepmother like coach is killed by irate and irrational roid-head offensive tackle Team rallies around interim head coach Wilbert Montgomery and crazy ass owner who would have been the poster girl for Desperate Housewives 40 years ago....beats jests 41-7. Pennington decides to move back home and sell auto parts to people with no teeth.
  21. and for all of us with kids....... Captain: Are you ready kids? Kids: Aye-aye Captain. Captain: I can't hear you... Kids: Aye-Aye Captain!! Captain: Oh! Who lives in a pineapple under the sea? Kids: SpongeBob SquarePants! Captain: Absorbent and yellow and porous is he! Kids: SpongeBob SquarePants! Captain: If nautical nonsense be something you wish... Kids: SpongeBob SquarePants! Captain: Then drop on the deck and flop like a fish! Kids: SpongeBob SquarePants! Captain: Ready? EveryBody: SpongeBob SquarePants! SpongeBob SquarePants! SpongeBob SquarePants! Captain: SpongeBob.... SquarePants! Hah
  22. You just have to put in Len's terms...then he will respond positively...something like: Hey Len for a free trip to the nearest all you can eat buffet, what do you think the Bills chances are of making the playoffs? If it were John Clayton..it would be: For a free autographed photo of your hero and mentor the great gazoo, what do you think the Bills chances are of making the playoffs? For Peter King, it would be.... For the license to write a column solely based on the athletic acheivements of your daughter's, what do you think the Bills chances are of making the playoffs?
  23. and all this time I thought Rob was our version of laces out......yikes how wrong I could be....there just might be a divine plan...
  24. Bills fans nationwide agree with Peyton. Play him Tony. 13 win seasons are nothing to sneeze at...they are a whole lot better than 12 win seasons... Truth be told--we want both the Jets and Broncos to lose, The Bills to win and then pack up and head to the west coast...we like it on the left coast now that we have overcome our road woes and we have been working our way down the coast--Seattle, to San Fran--San Diego is the next logical stop.
  25. Martz's slogan for Rams D (in his best pompous voice): Our aspiration is mediocrity...
