  1. Why are you so combative? Even as a back-up the film doesn't lie--his skills are deteriorating..why waste the money when there are going to be cheaper options. As to What the Bills coaching staff is thinking. I can only go on what I read and this seems pretty clear. From Chris Brown--this week's Fan Q&A. Keep spewing crap and I will keep responding..I have the flu -- nothing better to do today.. It has been mentioned in your blog that the Bills were looking to improve at SS, and that they wanted to slide Whitner to FS to exploit the best of his capacities. Is this just in case of injury, or is it considered as a possible permanent move? If it's the latter, could it be related to Ko's injury, or are they looking to upgrade their other starting safety, even with Ko healthy? Thank you Happy Lee CB: I think the Bills are looking at ways to put Whitner in more of a playmaking position. In this scheme it's very difficult for the strong safety to make a lot of plays on the ball. I think it's part of the reason why his interceptions haven't been numerous over his first two seasons. I think if they found the right person to play strong safety they would consider making Whitner the free safety on a permanent basis. I honestly think it has less to do with Ko and his injury and more to do with what they think Whitner is capable of.
  2. Kennedy has started almost his whole career. The Bills are looking for a starting strong safety not a back-up...That was the word when they brought McCree in...they want to move Whitner to Free so he can roam and free lance more. The choice isn't Ed Reed -- don't over dramatize-- The choice is keeping Whitner at Strong and putting Simpson back at Free. I'd much rather have that than rely on Kennedy as a starter. If we want a back up--bringing back Scott would be cheaper..he made quite a few plays in the run game when he got on the field. Everyone makes bad plays...not everyone ends up on the highlight reel as particularly awful--he had two in one year..
  3. Peterson-That wasn't just a fake out...that was a defender who was the absolute last line of defense freezing, not being aggressive and looking really, really bad. Yes--I agree Peterson is great--but Kennedy didn't even try. He froze like a deer in the headlights...there are other backs in the league including Lynch who would have left him in the dust on that play. He let the ball carrier control the play instead of trying to make the play..no excuse on the goal line for that. Listen to TJ's analysis -- he nails it--if you are going to miss him you might as well miss him going forward...awful, awful play. On the play by Sellers -- he had a chance to get his pad level low and did not -- consequently he got run over--if Sellers had any balance he would have left him the dust. Sellers actually got lower than Kennedy...you expect more from an 8 year vet.. Kennedy might be a big hitter--but those two clips show me he might be well past his prime...just my opinion -- but when you are getting cut by Detroit and they felt so strongly about replacing you they went after RFA it might be time to go to real estate school or something...
  4. Let's try a new philosophy....Kenoy Kennedy was just released by the Lions....here are two videos that I believe provide evidence to build a case that the Bills should NOT sign him http://www.broadcaster.com/clip/28487 Pick up your jock Kenoy Don't get 'er done Russ and Overdorfy..
  5. Left Tackle....yep...get rid of the all-pro bum we have....Last year Faulk predicted three wins--maybe we will be plus 4 on this years prediction too and make the playoffs...
  6. Uncanny....wow.... Hey--I got my old name back....
  7. Was that post off the top of your head? Sorry---had to say it.....
  8. From this week's Lenny P. Tip Sheet...are you really coach Dungy HM? Coach Tony Dungy once noted: "The further away from the ball you get, for us, the less your (financial) value." In any Tampa-2 scheme, including the one Indianapolis plays, cornerbacks don't have to be great cover defenders.
  9. Hes got a lot of talent but hasn't shown a conscience or any morals. I hope he can turn his life around. I really don't care if he wrote the letter or not..I just hope the sentiment is true. Maybe a few less thugs and a few more reformed thugs will help the human condition a bit. One thing is for sure...one more screw up for him in Goddell's NFL means the death penalty.
  10. OMFG -- this is more chaotic than the Vikings warroom....maybe someone took a picture before it happened.....Don't work too quickly to re-create the thing-- I can see it now... Goddell--"With the first pick in the 2007 NFL Draft, the Oakland Raiders select The Dean, St. Augustine, FL."
  11. For one of the few times in my life, I am at a loss to respond....I can't envision how you get to where that must have come from....
  12. Edited that out..damn you caught it...
  13. Here is the official timeline of events from the Va Tech website... 7:15 a.m. Virginia Tech Police Department (VT PD) receives a 911 call to respond to a dormitory room at West Ambler Johnston Residence Hall. Within minutes, Virginia Tech Police and Virginia Tech Rescue Squad respond to find two gunshot victims, a male and a female, inside a dormitory room within the Hall. The residence hall was immediately secured by VT PD and students within the hall were notified and asked to remain in their rooms for their safety. VT PD immediately secured the room for evidence collection and began questioning dorm residents and identifying potential witnesses. In the preliminary stages of the investigation, it was believed the deaths were an isolated incident, domestic in nature. Blacksburg Police Department were also on scene assisting VT PD with establishing a safety perimeter around the residence hall and securing Washington Street. 7:30 a.m. Investigators were following up on leads concerning a person of interest in relation to the double homicide. Investigators from VT PD and Blacksburg PD were actively following up on various leads. 8:25 a.m. Virginia Tech Leadership Team, which includes the university president, executive vice president, and provost, assembled to begin assessing the developing situation at the residence hall and determining a means of notifying students of the homicide. 9:00 a.m. Leadership Team was briefed on the situation by VT PD Chief W.R. Flechum on the latest developments in the ongoing investigation at the residence hall. 9:26 a.m. The Virginia Tech community – all faculty and students – were notified by e-mail of the homicide investigation and scene at West Ambler Johnston Residence Hall, and asked to report any suspicious activity to. The Virginia Tech Emergency/Weather Line recordings were also transmitted and a broadcast telephone message was made to campus phones. A press release was drafted and posted on the Virginia Tech Website. 9:45 a.m. The VT PD received a 911 call of a shooting at Norris Hall, which contains faculty offices, classrooms and laboratories. VT PD and Blacksburg PD immediately responded to Norris Hall. Notice in leadership command center via our police rep of a shooting in Norris. Upon arrival to Norris Hall, the officers found the front doors barricaded. Within a minute the officers breached the doors, which had been chained shut from the inside. Once inside the building, the officers heard gunshots. They followed the succession of gunshots to the second floor. Just as the officers reached the second floor, the gunshots stopped. The officers discovered the gunman, who had taken his own life. There was never any engagement between the responding officers and the gunman. 9:55 a.m. By the same means as prior notice, Virginia Tech notified campus community of the second murder scene. Other notifications followed via other means
  14. Sketch -- that type of reaction would take intelligence, patience, forethought and some damned common sense...what purpose would any of those traits serve? Come on man..get with the program...33 people are dead and blaming the shooter is not enough--let's blame the administration, campus cops, the alumni for not giving enough, the board of visitors, The entire ACC conference...Its all Coach K's fault--never trusted Rat Boy... God bless those families who found out today that they lost a loved one...maybe a little more silent reflection/self control and/or prayer (if the spirit moves you) and a little less finger pointing would help not just this situation -- but the planet in general...
  15. He can have his two freak boys Bill and Geraldo debut it and then have another hissy fight ...
  16. No kidding...the timeline the President gave indicates they would have had to lock down a 2600 acre campus in 90 minutes...good !@#$ing luck. This is tragic, learn what can be done better, but don't condemn anyone but the murderer. David Caruso only solves stuff in an hour on TV--and last I checked no episode ever involved a heavily armed perp walking into buildings and opening fire on anything that moved. Now they are asking him about having a survelliance camera system to cover 2600 acres--when did VA tech become a military installation or max security prison...
  17. MSNBC--"Police report its one shooter, a young American Male. 2 9mm handguns. Appears to have shot himself after the rampage. Shot in the dorm first and then 2 hours later in a classroom." Damn...prayers to the victims and their families...
  18. The Sporting News article on the home page says that Marv is looking for High Character and Self Motivated players. One may think the two charachteristics can't exist without one another but its not necessarily so..by all accounts Alan Branch is well-spoken; mature; a high character guy but the knock on him is that he does not do the extra study or physical work to make himself a great player....Leon Hall however, Patrick Willis, Poz appear to be gym rats in addition to high character guys...we want gym rats... This is not a surprising revelation by any stretch..but it eliminates a lot of guys who were great players in college based on their natural talent alone but show signs of not doing the work to be a great pro once they get paid. I think that Marv and crew would have stayed away from Mike Williams for example who by all accounts is a tremendous person but not willing to do the work. This is something we as fans will never see in the evaluation process...we can only speculate but the self motivated part is probably the largest differentiator in every round for the current management team at OBD. I guess the lesson here is don't get so caught up in why the Bills picked a certain player when others are available--unless there are great character flaws or arrests or other public knowledge that show great character flaws-- we as fans only get half the story. Something to think about before we overload the servers on draft day criticizing picks...
  19. Vodka--drink it with a purpose...
  20. You hit on why I question this deal from Miami's perspective. I think Green can give them 2 years -- yet they aren't positioned to be Super Bowl competitive in that period--I guess they could be looking at someone to tutor Tom Brady if he falls to them... I don't think its great news for the Bills that the Phins are getting better at the QB position than they were last year..but I still don't think this makes them a contender...
  21. This is a good thread BB---thanks QB 2 RB 9 WR 5 TE 5 C 4 G 4 T 3 DE 6 DT 8 OLB 10 ILB 10 CB 9 SS 5 FS 4 K 1 P 1 Lots of high numbers in defense....you know...Adam Carriker would fill mutliple holes hmmmmmmmm...I just wonder......... If you wonder why the DT number is so high -- well -- Its John McCargo's foot that's why....
  22. Cam Cameron has known Trent Green since college at IU. Cam Cameron is also one of the smartest Offensive minds in the game. Green is accurate -- something the Phins haven't had in a while--Green is already what Chad Pennington wants to be -- a cerebral QB with a decent (as opposed to rag) arm who can lead a team. This isn't great news. The reason Green has "never won anything" is because the Chiefs sucked on D...not on O... The Phins are an offensive lineman or two away from being competitive again...the good news is that Offensive Lineman who can contribute right away are hard to find in the draft and that the Phins are aging on D with a lot of their stars being on the wrong side of 32 or 33. They have too many needs to contend this year, I think, but if they get Green I bet a lot that they are going to draft 2 or 3 young OL in the first four rounds.
  23. So was my response (a joke that is)...Blue Fire hit the meaning..
  24. With all due respect, you are a nhh......
