  1. This was the biggest problem with Rex as an HC. My own personal theory was that he got used to having players on his side in NY. He had a lot of vets left over from his first two successful years and they had a strong locker room presence behind him. He took that for granted when he went to Buffalo. He thought Dareus and Preston Brown and Mario were gonna be as insanely loyal to him as David Harris and that whole crew. The problem was, Rex didn't earn the backing of the Bills locker room like he did in NY. He just expected it. And they turned on him by the end of the first year, because he gave them no reason to believe in him.
  2. Oh, before they didn't play by the rules. Now they do. Did you clue the Pats in on this development?
  3. Second rounder and the cap floor. That's exactly why they made the trade. They didn't even give the dude a parking space.
  4. If TT plays to 2015 form, you think he gets more than 5 years, $100M?
  5. 3 QB's in the top 7 would be surprising. I don't see Jax or LA (Chargers) taking either of those guys.
  6. Here's where you straw man. "Exact hypothetical contract details?" Let's try to be a little less disingenuous, please. My guess is Tyrod believed he wasn't going to get any more than the Bills we're offering Lol, I said this exact statement. Oh, right because those teams that lost draft picks didn't risk it.
  7. I don't think think TT was getting McCown type contracts, I just think he would get close to what Buffalo gave him. I'm sure teammates and stuff played a factor, just not a $10M factor.
  8. I agree Yolo. It wouldn't be that hostile of an environment. I wouldn't worry about coaching, though. There's a difference between a football person watching tape and yelling versus a media guy. The #1 problem most athletes have with the media is no true football experience.
  9. Teams do this all the time. It's called due dilligence. Ya'll thinking that TT and his agent had no clue what his value on the open market would be are insane.
  10. TT being a socialist could've also played a role. He may hate capitalism and the bourgeoisie.
  11. What a day! Sure, but Cleveland was hardly the only team out there that TT could play for.
  12. Man. No. There are 4 other teams he had a similar chance to be the starter. No. There are 4 other teams he had a similar chance to be the starter. Here's what I think happened. The Bills said "we want you to be our guy, but not under your option," TT's camp said "let's talk," they haggled with the option deadline looming. The Bills were inquiring about Romo and Glennon, showing TT they were seriously considering moving on, and his camp decided that restructuring to give up $10M was less or at least comparable to what he'd get on the open market. If TT and his camp were confident (and I mean confident like the guys in this topic) that they would make original option money on the open market, he would have NEVER given up $10M in guarantees and a 6 year deal. EVER. Remember, it's not just that TT gave up $10M. He would've gotten paid until 2021. No one in the NFL says, "No thanks" to a 5 year deal worth $100M.
  13. Adam Schefter‏Verified account @AdamSchefter 24s25 seconds ago Miami's former third-overall pick, Dion Jordan, reached agreement with Seahawks, as @tompelissero reported. 0 replies 0 retweets 0 likes Whaley asleep again.
  14. There were "4" teams willing to pay TT, as per transplant. It wasn't just Cleveland. If TT snaps his leg by some fat DT and has lingering damage, he comes out the loser of this restructure and probably his career. Which is why players who haven't already made their money generally don't leave $10M on the table.
  15. Teams got punished. That must mean it doesn't happen.... You know agents work for multiple players and talk to teams all the time, right? The Jets don't have to call Tyrod through the Bills FO to plant some seeds.
  16. They didn't negotiate Osweiler's contract. They are paying him because they got a second rounder. Details though.
  17. Right, when negotiating with TT, the only leverage the Bills had never came into play.
  18. Who wouldn't be insanely loyal to a team that says "take a pay cut or we'll cut you"?
  19. Are you really going to tell me that teams don't tamper anyway? Are you really going to tell me that TT and or his agent had no idea his value on the market?
  20. Health aspect? They have a pretty good line. I have it seen reported exactly zero places that teams were unable to contact players under option. If the view of the league was that the Bills would "pick up" the option, then Taylor would technically be an UFA. Furthermore, it's pretty well known there's a underbelly of semi-tampering always. "Show me a report" "No I mean one I agree with!"
