  1. Coin flips are closer to sure things than a six sided die. Which is why maximizing your odds is a good strategy. You can get good players while you're up there. Top of the second and third, there's talent to be had. Rex, Darby, McD versus EJ, no?
  2. How anyone can be a fan of mediocrity is beyond me.
  3. They are certainly closer to sure things. We also look back and see some drafts with 2 or 3.
  4. I think you're confused. You also appear confused. Leroi also gave us McD and a couple draft picks.
  5. We've all seen the "replaceable" card. Chris Hogan was replaceable. So was Levitre. Fitz. Until they weren't. On and on it goes.
  6. You don't know if you can replace a guy until you replace him.
  7. There are hundreds of reasons to get rid of productive players, was the point.
  8. There's certainly that possibility. But I'll put up with the clown act if the info is real. Leroi is quite provacative with his info as well, and he's legit.
  9. Well A. You don't know that. B: You called at least two of those dudes "attention whores" before getting dunked on So not sure where the "I'm usually right" confidence comes from. From what I've seen, it looks like the opposite.
  10. That's a false choice. Leroi, Freddy poster, the guy who posted about Cordy's kidney, Kirby, K-9, Hokie are all guys who have given credible info. Who are the ones who are just attention whores that you see?
  11. Because he probably did hear it? That seems like a silly question. I'd prefer to hear as much info from the inside as possible, wouldn't you?
  12. This has nothing to do with should or shouldn't. It has to do with the possibility. Here are a number of players gotten rid of while productive: Shady Jamie Collins Chandler Jones Brandon Marshall Percy Harvin Jimmy Graham Matt Forte Cooks Boldin Torrey Smith That's all in the last 3 years. I'm sorry, but if you think Lesean McCoy was untouchable this offseason depending on our direction, I think you're crazy.
  13. EJ was shoved down some folks' throats by GM and fans alike. They'll never stop.
  14. Teams get rid of high priced, close to 30, still productive players all the time. It's even happened to Shady!
  15. I remember when a poster here said that Fred would be cut in the offseason. He got burned when the Pegulas squashed it. 3 months later? Vilified. For all we know, jmc's source was somebody with an ear in the discussion about rebuilding versus reloading. If we were planning on cutting some of the old guard loose, McCoy would've been one of the first to go. You can believe there was never a discussion about possibly rebuilding if you'd like. I'm inclined to believe otherwise.
  16. I bet you get your news from the Daily Show.
  17. Because he owns the website and is click hunting.
  18. I am probably the biggest Whaley hater on the board. Or at least #2. Signing TT early with option was a move made with the intention of protecting the franchise and giving them an out, as well as building goodwill. Now, if TT throws for 30 TD's and 7 picks in 2016, we had him locked up for nothing close to what he would get on the open market. And if he played the same or worse as 2015, we had our own out or paid him what he was worth. He played worse than 2015, and we managed to negotiate him down. If we had had to cut him, oh well. Asking your QB to take a paycut is saying he's not good enough anyway, so having to cut him would've been no great loss. I generally hate almost everything Whaley does. But I think he played this about as well as he could. There was potential for lots to go wrong, but that's what happens when QB's become FA's. The counter argument is that if he improved in 2016, we would've maybe had to pay him more anyway. But personally, I think there's pros and cons to both approaches.
  19. From what I've heard, I will be shocked if we take anyone. Unless Watson is there at #10.
  20. I kinda agree. I'm talking more value in the sense of allocating resources. DW has no problem dropping 2 high round picks on WR when we have no talent in the position. Conversely, when we've dedicated a more significant number of resources to a position, like WR, DW is afraid of paying a little bit extra towards it. See the extra $800K it would've cost to ensure we keep Hogan, or the extra $800K to ensure we keep Gillislee this season. He gets in his head this idea of "I only want to spend/dedicate X to this position group and I won't go a penny higher," and that rigidity usually ends up harming the team. I would not be surprised if the justification used to not take a QB high in 2017 is " We're already paying TT a decent amount and we drafted Cardale, no more resources to QB until one of them are gone." That's his MO and that's what will end up happening, IMO.
  21. Norman was a better CB and especially better zone CB than Gilly too. We'll feel his loss but it won't be as significant as losing Norman, IMO.
  22. I fear we won't take a QB at all this year. DW gets so caught up in "value" that he misses the forest for the trees too often.
  23. They only went from 6th to 26th. Definition of comfortable, IMO.
