  1. The Bills have lost a lot of likable characters in the last 5 years, and it makes me enjoy watching them just a little bit less.
  2. Going 6-10 with EJ at the helm is a minor miracle. I'd rather have Thad Lewis for a season.
  3. Good, but not great yet is a far cry from "the Rex Ryan" of anything.
  4. Why does the Houston game count?
  5. If the Pats game doesn't count because the starters were out, why does the Dallas game count?
  6. Haurbaugh has only been at UM for one season, right? Why do I feel like you're referring to him like he's been there for 5 years and hasn't sniffed a win against OSU? If Harbaugh beats OSU this year, will he still be overrated?
  7. Un-unpopular opinion: Only OSU fans think Harbaugh is overrated.
  8. Temporary insanity. But you say "no" during the interview for the HC. You don't offer your services for a lesser position while trying to win the greater one. That's bargaining 101. Schwartz's leverage was his #4 defense with the Bills. You don't offer that up for free. I guess what I'm trying to say is even though he said no during the interview process, had an offensive HC been hired, he may have gone back on that. After failing to secure the HC position, he may have thought he could put out another great D for a year then use that to get another job, as you said. The better bet is that every Bills HC will be sacked, every player will suck and every season will result in missed playoffs. Anyway, it doesn't happen often, no. And maybe Hue Jackson or whoever does fire Schwartz. But it was an effective guarantee that he was gone with the Rex hire. It wouldn't have been with Gase etc etc.
  9. Does Schwartz have any reason to say "yes" in that scenario? He was the one soon to be interviewing for the HC position, it's bad business to say "oh by the way, I'll do my job again for lesser pay/prestige too if you want another HC."
  10. Kim Pegula is not a rags to riches, pull yourself up by your bootstraps, Horatio Algers story.
  11. Thank you the most.
  12. No one thought Jim Harbaugh was a nobody until he coached a OSU rival program and you went to OSU.
  13. Because I want all Bills to succeed at being Bills. And Goodwin is hurting his chances to do so. I'm not entirely upset, because he is definitely a long shot. I just wouldn't be doing what he's doing. That's really it.
  14. Unpopular opinion: Yolo started this thread because he could not bear to keep his Harbaugh take bottled up for one more day.
  15. That's assuming a normal employee-employer relationship. Which the NFL does not have. Id like to see you get permission from your employer to take 2 months off to pursue your love of Kazoo.
  16. Oh, so you don't mean like monster year in terms of yards and TD's but a year where he's the clear #1 in carries? Got it.
  17. My metaphor was better.
  18. I am arguing that the teams are allowed, through contract language and structure, to terminate them at any time. Is it a coincidence an NFL team has never been sued for wrongful firing? It's at-will employment, the same as millions of other jobs in America. It's what they AGREE to. This is a tangent however. I'm more arguing that players are whiny babies even, as you say, they just get on the same level as the team. "This business is cold" says the disgruntled vet abandoning his teammates and coaches to quibble over some money. Nah, screw that.
  19. I'm sure there's a criminal we could pay to stop committing crimes, too.
  20. Are they? Explain to me Kirby why when a team walks away, it's kaputs. But when a player tries to walk away, they get hammered with fines and all these other things? I'll tell you why. Because the NFLPA set terms that the teams are ALLOWED to walk away when ever. And the players are not. Period.
  21. Curious to hear why you think this. Weren't we one of the best rushing teams and above average in total without a big year from Shady?
  22. The contract doesn't mean anything to the employer. Not the employee. Those are the terms agreed to, and they should honor them. Or, just shut up instead of acting like they're indentured servants. Guaranteed contracts would all but destroy the NFL, not to mention I'm not in the habit of rewarding bad behavior.
  23. They didn't get the #1 pick for 3 years. Not really their fault. They would've ideally had Wiggins, Simmons and KAT. Sprinkle in some other lottery picks and they would've been money in 2 years.
  24. Why? Is your contract fully guaranteed? The players association agreed to allow teams to terminate the contracts. You don't get to cry and whine when you don't like the terms you agreed to.
  25. Not to mention the impending stadium dough that will be required in the next 5 years.
