  1. It says CITY population there. I specifically mentioned metro area.because city population means little. Boston--a huge metro area--has only 400,000 or so residents. Look at wikipedia

And I specifically mentioned the city.

    What don't you get?

The point is, the 5th largest city in North America is large enough to support an NFL team.

    Edit:

Also to cite YOUR source (wiki) Toronoto metropolitan area has a greater population than Dallas metro, Philly metro, Boston metro....

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toronto

Toronto metro population - 5.9 million

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_metropolitan_area

    Philly metro - 5,823,233

    Boston metro - 4,411,835

    Dallas metro - 5,819,475

    Baltimore metro - 2,655,675

I don't think much of Wiki as a source, but if you are going to use it to say that the Toronto metro area is significantly smaller than these areas, I'll use it to show that is not quite the case.

  2. Saw an expose...on Dobbs I think.....that only like 500,000 make minimum wage and of course, most of them are 17 year old burger jocks who still feed off the teet of their parents.

So....SURPRISE!!!!!!.....all this Minimum wage nonsense is nothing more than political grandstanding.

Yeah but, how many people that are not 17 year old burger jocks make below the proposed minimum wage?

  3. metro Toronto is very large--about 5.5 million including hamilton---but ranks behind Dallas,Washington/Baltimore,San Francisco, philadelphia and Boston as well.

Actually that isn't true. The city became the 5th largest in NA in the late 90's when the metro area incorporated/expanded into the surrounding areas.

But don't take my word for it:

  4. Don't worry, there are plenty of a$$holes to take his place:

I can't tell if she is more sexist or racist.

But obviously the guys who have been convicted of NOTHING should continue to be suspended from school because racism and sexism simply exist. Since they are white and men, quite obviously they are the root cause of all that is bad on the Duke campus. :bag:

  5. they won/t support it any worse than Buffalo does.

The ability to support corporate luxury boxes will by itself make Toronto a muchmore attractive location than Buffalo.

Not to mention all of the blackouts that will be avoided.

As much as I do not want this to happen, there is no question that Toronto could support a team. It's the 5th largest city in North America, behind NYC, LA, Mexico City, and (I think) Chicago.

  6. Not so fast. The previous minimum wage law exempted two US territories. One was North Marianas and the other was the Pacific Enclave (American Samoa). The NEW law removes the exemption for Marianas and their burgeoning sweatshop clothing industry (which all bear "Made in the USA" labels) but leaves the exemption in place for the Pacific Enclave. The reason?

Well, the Marianas representation to Congress is a non-voting Republican. So screw you little guys in American Samoa, because your politicans are non-voting Democrats! Remember, liberals don't need poor people to stay poor. :bag:

There are reports this has more to do with Nancy Pelosi, and the GOP is complaining about it:

  7. Did anyone notice the trend in that good analysis of WM vs. most other backs in the league, that the productive backs were on teams with good OL's ? Wm will be fine once we get a better OL that can open holes and keep DT's off of WM.

My own personal spin on what any football player or movie star says is I couldn't care one little bit. Everyone has an opinion and no matter what you say someone will take issue with it, so screw it ! Who cares what WM says, people shouldn't pay that much attention to what they say in the first place. Personally I'm to busy living my life to take offense about what Wm says. Just my 3 cents.

I recall having a pretty crappy o-line in 2002 and 2003 as well. Yet, Travis Henry managed 1438 and 1356 yards in those season with 13 and 10 touchdowns respectively. I don't mean that to be a comparison of the two backs per se, but a good back can still flourish even with a poor offensive line.

  8. so what? its not like theyre changing days 12 hours before the game.

youre either gonna be busy/at the stadium from 9-7 or from 11-9. either way, all day sunday.

how many people did we really lose because they didnt know the time so they couldnt fly into town 2 hours before the game and 2 hours after?

i mean, its sunday, the whole day is football. no?

I don't even know if it's so much that people would be unable to deal with a changing start time, but you must realize that it's certainly an annoyance to a lot of people, and might turn them off as a potential buyer. On the other hand, I know a few people who do shift work and can go to 1:00 games but not 4:00. I'm sure there are individuals for whom the door swings the other way as well.

  9. A lot of people travel hundreds of miles to see the games. Add to the group people who are flying &/or scheduling hotels and the flex schedule cuts down on the out of town folks who are willing to buy a ticket late in the season. Bunk, hardly!

    No doubt.

How many game time changes happened league wide this year? I'm curious how other markets responded.

  10. Actually, I have a fabulous life. Awesome family, friends, job and lifestyle. Couldn't be much happier, and it really doesn't take a lot of time out of the 24 hours in the day to visit a message board, especially when you can afford to work for yourself out of your house, take any hours or time off that you wish, etc.

And please try to spell "argument" correctly.

Still following me around, eh? Are you Vonnegut's dog or something?

I'm glad you are able to lead a happy and productive life, and at the same time act as a fully functional internet troll. Bravo!

  11. It's really no surprise that the Bills had trouble selling out the games this season, and it's also not much cause for alarm. It was the perfect storm:

1] Too many games late in the season when the weather was cold.

2] Most of those games not sexy, excluding Miami, who had been on a downtrend.

3] Christmas Eve against the Titans instead of Saturday, two days before Christmas.

4] The 2005 Season, all its turmoil and turbulence that left a bad taste in everyone's mouth.

5] The five years of Tom Donohoe and the malaise that it brought on the franchise, especially concerning dashed hopes.

6] The uninspiring, to a large portion of fans, hiring of Marv Levy.

7] The uninspiring, to the majority, hiring of Dick Jauron.

8] The uninspiring draft and Free Agency signings.

9] The surge of the Sabres and their high scoring, exciting, dramatic play, players and playoff run.

All of those things are semi-small, but all of them are significant in some way, and together are enormous. Most of them no longer exist. Plan on selling out all eight home games next year.

I'm willing to bet tthe October storm had a small part to play as well. I'm sure that chewed up some discretionary income as well as free time for a lot of residents. Plus, considering the amount of cleanup still left for a lot of people, I wouldn't be surprised if many spent their December weekends taking advantage of mild weather to finish cleaning up. I know I did (but then again I went to 2 of the four blacked out games).

  12. So what does that make you, you who are willing to flame someone as "having no life" because they disagree and argue with you on a message board?

What are you doing Vonnegut, following me around?

I expect that type of behavoir from a golden retriever.

I'm not the one going into every thread someone posts in to bring up arguments from other threads that have been locked. That's generally accepted as trollish behavoir.

  13. Well, I suppose implying that someone is a "troll" who has basically been here most every day for 9-10 years makes as much logic as your other conclusions.

Is that an arguement from authority that I smell?

So it is your logical conclusion that someone who has been on a message board almost every day cannot be a troll interesting conclusion. Interesting...

I will take your word on the the fact you have "been here most every day for 9-10 years" and instead come to a different conclusion: You have no life.

  14. :flirt::lol::(

expecting you or yall to actually understand said logic is whats really an effort in futility. hence the reason i refuse to spend any length of time supporting statements.

I don't really care what beef you do or do not have with other member.

I'm challenging you to refute a conclusion. Can you do it? You say you can, but I'd like to see it.

Hell, I'd be happy just to see if you can use the "shift" key once in a while. I mean I totally understand that since you don't have time for capitalization, you certainly couldn't be bothered to make a logical arguement.

So here you go Ramius, can you actually provide a counter point, or will your responses continue to be nothing more than smiley faces, insults, and poor grammar?
