  1. The player I disliked wasn’t because he underproduced, Bryce Paup, he was just a nasty person, he was at a signing, I was 16, he didn’t talk to anyone, he just signed whatever you put in front of him and were expected to shuffle off.  He wouldn’t take pictures with anyone, sign and go...  after the hour he promised, he left with somewhere between 5-10 people still in line. On the flip side, Ted Washington signed everyone’s and took pictures with everyone who asked, he was fun and playful, he asked your name and made sure to address you by it.  This was the same event so the contrast was very noticeable.

I met a lot of players at that time through signings, every player was nice, but one.  Maybe it was a bad day?  Maybe...but I’ve heard the same from others.

If we actually had this draft, it would be up there with all time greatest, but people would be mad that WR wasn’t addressed till the 4th.

    22. Buffalo Bills (10-6)

    • K’Lavon Chaisson, EDGE/OLB, LSU

Chaisson (6-4, 250 pounds) has a great name for an elite, active defender who chases after quarterbacks and running backs alike. He has 6.5 sacks during LSU’s run to the CFP national championship game, and like several teammates, his draft stock has shot up throughout the season. He is a bit of a hybrid player who can work well in the Bills' 4-3 to replace retiring Lorenzo Alexander on the weak side.

This is my pick too, wears #18 at LSU, last time we did that it turned out well.

Jefferson or Aiyuk in the 2nd

and a DB or DL in the 3rd depending on FA

  4. The 2015 season was depressing, so much talent so little results.  I wanted this game, but...we as Bills fans have so much to look forward to.

we have a young QB that might just be our franchise QB.  We won 10 games this year, with only a handful of free agents and a boat load of money to improve.  We are no longer the place where careers go to die.
The team that has dominated the afc East just exited too and their QB is old.

yesterday sucked...but we have a bright future.

I like Bruce and follow him, but he’s wrong.  Shaq and Phillips are mid to high mid level contracts.  Poyer has a year left and he’s not getting younger, some would argue he’s a product of the system and Johnson could be his replacement.  White has 2 years remaining with the 5yr option.  Kevin Johnson is a quality back up, who has played well but not an expensive re-sign.  Spain came to Buffalo on a prove it deal, he won’t see that much more in free agency.

According to the Draft Network the Bills need:

    Edge [Agree]

WR-1 [Agree or WR-2 and Smoke is WR-1]

Interior DL [Oliver, Horrible Harry, Liuget, Resign Phillips,  Star?]

    CB-2 [Agree, Upgrade from Wallace]

RB-2 [Between the tackles hammer for tough yards]

Interior OL [Agree, continue to upgrade G's, hope Morse stays healthy]

OT [If a good RT or LT available in FA, move Ford to Guard]

LB-3 [No quality depth after Edmunds and Milano, perhaps a big MLB and move Edmunds outside]

TE - Kroft, Knox, Sweeney [Only if a Kittle like game changer is on the radar]

I questioned the interior DL, it should be last on that list.
I’m not convinced Kroft will be on this team next year.  This draft is not a good TE draft though.

WR- AJ Green, 3 years 16 aav

RT- Daryl Williams 2 years, 11 aav

DE- Yannick Ngakue, 5 years, 18.5 aav

    Sign me up ☝☝

Daryl Williams played guard this year, I think he’s back to health and I could see him moving back to RT, but I think he’s going to cost less than 11 million a year.  I like your thinking, but I think he’ll be cheaper.

  8. Having been a part of the stadium wall community for almost twenty years I am so use to the Monday after week 17 being the "what I would do in the offseason" threads.  So happy this is not the case, but I love offseason threads so...

Start with our own, Phillips, Kevin Johnson and maybe Lawson (his run stopping ability makes him very valuable) Wallace is a ERFA so he won't break the bank, Isiah Mckenzie is a RFA so again not breaking the bank.  the rest of our free agents won't receive a lot of attention so they'll be reasonable to bring back if want them.

    Other teams players top 3.

Bud Dupree, 27 years old, played OLB but can transition to a DE 6'4" 269, 10.5 sacks on the year, could play right or left side.

Brandon Scherff RG 27, 8th among Guards in PFF

Jack Conklin RT 26, 11th overall in PFF tackles (both left and Right)

add a Pass Rusher and make the Right side of the Offensive line dominate, Move Ford to his more natural position of LG next to Dawkins.

with almost 100 million we can afford these players (if they get away from their current teams) plus we could add a lot of little pieces and players that could get released like a QB in Andy Dalton, because I don't think Barkley is the answer if Allen can't play.

Then go out and get the WR and Strong side LB in the Draft

    in my perfect world..

    1-Tee Higgins or Shenault

2-K'Lavon Chasson or Zack Baun (both can also rush the QB in Nickel and Dime packages)

CB is a pretty big need.   Johnson was abused over and over today.

Edge rusher, Wr,  Cb.  Whichever one has highest value for the pick you take.

Kevin played well, Taron didn’t have his best game, in fact last year he played better, but he’s been serviceable this year.

  10. I think we need to upgrade the outside pass rush, Ideally I’d get Bud Dupree...he’s having a great year with 9.5 sacks (with 2 games left) sign him for about 15-17 million a year.  In the most recent Todd McShay mock he had Buffalo picking a WR, but still on the board was AJ Epenesa, sign Bud Dupree and draft Epenesa who I think could become Cam Jordan like, raw but big and athletic.  Let Shaq walk, release Murphy and move Hughes to the Lorax role, I think most of his contract is guaranteed so releasing him doesn’t help.

then address the OL in Free agency and get a WR both in Free agency and draft.

Side note, i know this is an unpopular opinion, but when KC releases Watkins, I’d sign him, with Buffalo’s medical staff they might be able to keep him healthy. A 1 yr prove it deal.

Then sign Conklin (9th ranked PFF RT, one time 1st team all pro) and Scherff (6th ranked PFF Guard).

  11. I don’t disagree.  I can’t state this more, the NFL must expand the game day roster, you have 53, why not keep all 53 active?  Who is it helping with 46? Every team has the same salary cap.

if I’m the coaching staff, especially the ST staff, this weekend it’s incredibly important to have a solid game plan.  They will try to block punts, they will have good KO coverage, taking the ball out of the end zone has not done much for us.
this game will be won by field position and the fewest mistake.  Taking the ball out of the end zone and only getting to the 18 makes a difference.

    side note:

i think the reason we saw an increase in Roberts offensive plays recently is because on 4th and short around mid field, we will likely see a punt by Josh Allen, with Roberts and Foster covering.  If Morse is even an average long snapper this will work.

i wish we had a punter with an okay arm.  It would keep their punt coverage team honest.

Brandon Scherff if he's still as good after that injury. Anthony Castonzo too even though he's 32.

A strong offensive line is really important. It improves the running game and passing game. It would also make Josh Allen feel more comfortable in the pocket. Far more important than getting a WR. I think our WRs are good. Beasley and Brown do get open. Imagine Allen getting even more time to find them.

    LT - Anthony Castonzo

    LG - Spain / Ford / Feliciano / Dawkins

    C - Mitch Morse

    RG - Brandon Scherff

    RT - Dion Dawkins

    / Drools

Bring in Scherff and Conklin (he’s having a decent year) let Spain walk, move Ford to LG, feliciano can be the back up and keep Dawkins at LT.

    Dawkins

    Ford

    Morse

    Scherff

    Conklin

    also sign Carlos Hyde

    re-sign Phillips, Johnson and Lawson

    Sign Ngakoue.
Draft WR,  offensive Tackle, LB, a corner and a punter!
