  1. I was at the game, sadly…but I feel and have felt this all year, Daboll’s play calling when playing what is a “lesser” team seems to be straight out of preseason, nothing new, very basic.  In this game Jacksonville played a zone and sent a CB a lot.  The OL had no chance to reach the rushers and the interior was overwhelmed.  They forced check down throws and swarmed.  Dion Dawkins had his worse game, I’m wondering if he’s still feeling the effects of Covid.  Williams proved what Carolina fans have been saying, once he gets paid he doesn’t play with fire.  Ford is just plan not a good pro.  I’d be interested in seeing an OL change up.

You're claiming some big fallacies here.

    1. The loudest stadiums by recorded decibel level are open.

    2. The greatest QBs in the game right now play in open stadiums. Legacy isn't about stats, it's about sustained winning and championships. Talk about free agents...ask Emmanuel Sanders why he came here. (By the way, he's mostly played in open stadiums because it's all about the QB, not the building)

    3. Players really do like playing in the elements. It amps you up and it's fun. Sitting in the elements sucks, but playing in the elements is a blast. Ask Pitt, Seattle, Green Bay, New England, Chicago, KC, SF etc how hard it's been to get free agents. As long as you're a good team with a good QB, it's not hard. The elements is a non factor.

I love Sanders, but he came here as a 30 something year old just released. BB has had a crush on him for years, BB was right to.  But I’m not sure there was a ton of interest.

I can’t compare KC and Seattle’s volume vs what I heard in New Orleans, but I can compare what I’ve heard in Buffalo during the playoffs vs what I heard in New Orleans…and honestly it’s not comparable.
Lastly, suggesting a QB would rather play in the swirling wind vs no wind is just crazy.

  3. I’ve had this discussion too many times with other Bills fan…quickly my take

-I don’t think the weather creates a home field advantage like others, there are very few players on the Bills from a northern state…they probably don’t like the cold either (sure they’ll say they do because it’s manly)

-have you ever been in a dome? I’ve been to a Bills playoff game that didn’t or struggled to sell out, the reason, it was too cold (funny enough it was the comeback game). I’ve also seen New Orleans play TB, when Tampa was absolutely awful.  The game sold out, the crowd was deafening. Noise > Snow/cold

-super bowl!  If you’re asking the state to come up with some funding, make the stadium domed and big enough to house a super bowl.  The amount of revenue it would create for Western NY would make it worth it.

-Free agents: winning is attractive, but if you think about free agents and their legacy, a dome helps.  Look at what Jim Kelly did in the USFL…I would argue if Buffalo played in a dome, he would’ve set league records.  WRs knowing they don’t have to adjust to the wind is also attractive.

-a lot of fans are now out of towners that pick one or two games a year to fly home to, I don’t want to sit in the cold…I know some of y’all might, but given the choice…comfort wins, I don’t like rain and snow getting into my labatt, I don’t like trying to eat nachos with snow gloves on.

that wasn’t that short at all

  4. I think the run game was hampered by line play.  The line was build for pass protection and they do any excellent job at that.  I like Motor/Moss, I’d like a better third.  When we wanted to run, we ran well.  Just wasn’t a priority.
I think 2021 is the year Knox breaks out.  I am not convinced there’s a better option available.  He’s a better than average blocker, athletically he’s in the top 10% amount TEs. He was raw coming out.

Turner is the best player imo and has the Carolina connection. He is also the youngest.

Jackson is up there as well, and has some Bobby Johnson connection.

Zeitler is still very good. Apparently he was really good with teaching Will Hernandez, so he was a mentor aspect to his presence.

Only one of those players was a first rounder and did everything he was supposed to.  The other two I would still love to sign.

  6. I don’t expect any signing this week, especially any well known names.  However, the 2nd wave is where Buffalo will find players.  Let the kids with money over pay (Jax, Jets et cetera) Buffalo will find the value players in a couple of weeks.  ESPN will claim that these teams “won the off-season” week one.

  7. Not sure if this was brought up, honestly 10+ pages on Daboll in a win where we are not saying good things in truly the privilege of a very good team.

that said, all week we heard how this team wants him and he’s interviewing with this other team.  He may have been distracted. I expect a better game plan next week against Balt/Pitts.  The colts are a tough team.
