Dead on. Losman IS unproven but a change was needed. If he doesn't work out, get someone else but Bledsoe WASN'T getting the job done ! Bledsoe was a PROVEN FAILURE in games against good defensive teams. Making rookie mistakes in his 12th season. WTF is his excuse ? Unable to read a defense, throwing behind receivers, bouncing passes into the turf, no pocket presence whatsover, zero touch, game killing turnovers,a complete lack of poise.. We won many games IN SPITE OF HIM. The guy had 1 pass left in his game... the 30-40 yard rope down the sidelines. The Defense and ST's accounted for 10 TD's and Donahoe,Mularkey and Co. know that isn't likely to happen again. Plus we'll never get a 6 game scheduling break against bad teams, like we did in 2004. That was a rare gift. The QB has to be the difference in tight games and make some plays. We need to close the gap on the Pats,Steelers, Eagles...the top teams in the NFL. Career Stats don't mask the present ineptitude of a bumbling fool under center. DB hit the wall and that's why the Pats dumped him. He got his 3 year 2nd chance with the Bills. Had a good 1st half of 2002 and has been in a sharp decline ever since. Passing the blame doesn't work anymore. Plus I'm not blinded by the " Good guy off the field " status. He's a model citizen who plays like sh-- most Sundays. Time to move on. -
That's why Ohio St. dumped John Cooper. 10-11 wins and good recruiting every year. Still, only 2 wins against Michigan in 14 tries. Couldn't get over that hurdle. I lost count how many times they entered that game undefeated and lost. Jim Tressel came on board, wins a National Championship in year 2 and is 3-1 against Michigan. Ask their fans who they prefer.

Quit talking about Bledsoe. We've moved on to the unknown Losman. -

Losman will be critisized for bad play. I would rather see a 23 year old 1st time starter with an upside, make some mistakes over a 34 year old 13 year Vet making multiple mistakes, with no upside. -
Can't blame you for bumping this.

I was going to say. The screen pass, the quick out, the slant. Anything with touch. He struggled badly. Always bouncing them low or throwing behind the receiver. He threw the nice rope 30-40 yards down the field. That's about it. -

Last Bills playoff win - 1995. Flutie and Bledsoes Pro-Bowl invites mean nothing, next to that stat. -

10 TD's from ST's and Defense. We caught the scheduling break of a lifetime during that 6 game winning streak. Each of those bad teams were playing their worst football of the year. Then comes the Pittsburgh game, our 1st true test since the Pats wipeout on Sunday night football. Our playoff game against many 2nd, 3rd stringers. DB wasn't the sole reason we lost that game. The Defense had their issues. But he sure played terrible, with everything on the line. -

We're competitive. The Offense just can't take the next step forward with the current QB. So now one change is being made to take the next step. Others will follow. Being stuck in a 6-9 yearly win mode serves little purpose, other than to say " we are satisfied with indefinite mediocrity ". -
Tues. Buff News - Bills Ready To Go With Losman

Good thoughts. The 9-7 record was good but the Bills were very lucky to catch 6 teams in a row playing absolutely horrid football. A scheduling fluke like that falls into your lap once every 20 years. Drew wasn't going to win us 9-10 games next year. The first good team we had to play (The Steelers) beat us with many 2nd,3rd stringers and Bledsoe looked horrible. So we may need more help than we think, not just at QB. It's not all his fault but trying to blame others doesn't work anymore. He'll only get worse and never improve. QB is just the 1st change in overall improvement, but a much needed one. -
How could anyone argue with you on this subject ? Unfair advatage, 15 yards.

Outstanding !

Bills beat reporter Mark Gaughan - " The Buffalo Bills are strongly considering going with J.P. Losman as their starting QB next season, and Drew Bledsoe could wind up out of town as a result . The Bills braintrust thinks it has to go with Losman next year if at all possible, an NFL source told the news. " Goes on to explain other possible scenerios, such as DB returning as a backup, which he may not want and sees as unlikely. Mentioned DB's agent David Dunn is checking out other possibilities around the NFL. Places where DB would have a chance to start. If he locates one, DB will be traded. Dallas and Parcells are mentioned as a possibility. Jerry Sullivan also has a column devoted to Losman today, so it's a hot topic of discussion here in Buffalo. (Ignore it if it bothers you) You already know his position on DB . He doesn't see him returning as a backup and believes he is finished here. Sullivan - " TD has distanced himself from DB since the season ended. Sure, The Bills may take a step back with Losman as the Starter. In the end, The Steelers found out how tough it can be for an untested QB. There's an inevitable growing process for any young QB. But at least Ben Roethlisberger is one year into his development. Evidently, the Bills believe it's time to get started with Losman, to start him on a concerted path to a starting job. If they take a step back, it will be a small one. The fact is , they're several giant steps behind the Patriots and Steelers. They're not going to make up that ground with Bledsoe. It sounds like the Bills know it and are ready to move forward in earnest, without Drew. " Not looking good for DB. Looking real good for J.P. - seems the Bills are ready to turn the page, like it or not. Fire away.
