Dareus is an idiot for doing this but he's damn lucky he got popped a few days before the Draft. All of this will likely be swept under the rug (at least in terms of coverage) within 24 hours.

The Stadium Wall will absolutely hate the pick.

You will laugh at this then:

Apparently WGR has the Bills taking Martin too now. Someone follows me on twitter.
Wow. Embarrassing.
Joe B had his mock up last week and has been talking about the Bills interest in Martin a good two weeks ago.
I do believe there is interest in Martin from the Bills side but not at #9. Heck, I actually think Ebron is the guy the Bills have targeted at #9 all along. They've downplayed their interest the best they can by speaking in broad generalities about the changing face of the TE in the NFL but I think he's their guy.
-
Two players who could go a little higher than people think: LSU WR Odell Beckham and Ohio State LB Ryan Shazier.
I would punch the cutest kitten I could find in the face if we took Beckham at #9.

You never know, KOKBILLS.
I remember most folks projected Cordy Glenn to go in the 15-20 range of the 1st round. Sometimes slides just happen, I've got my fingers crossed that Cyrus is around when we pick in the 2nd. I think it was very telling that the Bills waited until the last visit of the year to bring him in, they wanted to get the most up to date report on his health that they possibly could. I think he's a real possibility for us in the 2nd and would complete an absolute monster O-Line if his knee holds out.
-
I've heard the Matt Light comparison made several times with Zack Martin, that's good company to be compared to.
I'm totally fine with Martin after a trade down, although doesn't it seem a bit strange that we would be targeting such a smallish O-Lineman? Marrone has said dozens of times that he values larger O-Lineman and his goal is to beef up the Bills upfront.
As talented as Martin is he doesn't fit that profile at all.

Most recently, he was the one who broke the Spikes visit.
Don't have a "link" because it was on twitter and I don't feel like sitting through his timeline.
I don't have a link Bandit but what comes to mind that he tweeted about was Manny Lawson and Spikes getting signed, Pepper Johnson getting hired, some of the Bills lease stuff (that I frankly don't understand enough to say whether he was first with the info but he says he was) and Dareus's option. There may be more. It is more around FA stuff than draft but I didn't follow him last year at draft time so not sure.
I remember this guy, the problem is all of the free agent "news" he broke was already circulating on Twitter by the time he posted them. He's a tweet-hounder/compiler. I can't speak on him breaking any ownership news but I distinctly remember the news with Spikes already making rounds along with Dareus option already hitting the wire.
I actually believe the Bills do view Zach Martin favorably but I just dont see him being the pick at #9. He's a trade down option at the very best.

Keep fighting Jim! We're all with you!

Very interesting stuff.
I'm still on the Ebron train but if we go elsewhere in the 1st I'd like to see us snag Niklas in the 2nd. He seems like a damn fine player who is only going to get better with more experience.
-
Mighty Taco or Duff's? They don't take #30 to Tempo...
Don't make me choose!
-
The bills didn't seem to be into Manuel much last year... and we took him. Whaley and Marrone are really good at getting the guy they want without letting anyone know.
Uh oh. By that theory we should start fitting Zach Martin for his Bills jersey.

Joe Buscaglia @JoeBuscaglia · 24m
#Bills GM Doug Whaley says Cyrus Kouandjio will likely be the final pre-draft visit. He was number 29 of 30
So we are just leaving one spot open? Seems kinda...weird. Heck, if they want to wine and dine me I'll be #30.
-
I think listening to Whaley the Bills are definitely in on trading up for Clowney.
Didn't seem that into Ebron at all.
Could all be smoke and mirrors but I truly believe the Bills will gun hard to trade up for Clowney.
-
That leaves just one visit left. Probably coming in with Cyrus today, we'll know fairly soon methinks.
-
This would suck. I read that he is more of a G in the NFL. I know, Kiper said the same about Cordy... but at 9?
Think about it though, that only makes more sense from the Bills' perspective. Marrone has said time and time again he likes versatile players, with Martin they could plug him in at RT or Guard.
I truly believe Martin is VERY high on the Bills board.
-
I honestly can see this happening. Martin has skyrocketed up the draft boards and I remember hearing a report the Bills liked him during the Combine interviews.
Brace yourselves.
-
1. Johnny Manziel - Cleveland Browns
2. Jadeveon Clowney - Houston Texans
3. Blake Bortles - Jacksonville Jaguars
4. Khalil Mack - Atlanta Falcons
5. Mike Evans - Tampa Bay Bucs
-
I'll give you another one.
Ja'Wuan James, OT from Tennessee. Guy is an absolute mauler at RT and would step in immediately as our starter. Fits the profile for what we're looking for along the O-Line and would add a whole lot of nastiness to our trenches. His stock has been rising in the last few weeks though, might not last past the 2nd round now.
-
I do like me some Frank the Tank. I promised my Bills buddies this at the end of last season but I'll go ahead and publicly state it now.
If Frank makes the opening day roster, I'll buy his jersey and wear it every Sunday.
I'll be easy to spot during games.
-
Big fan of Preston Brown, ILB from Louisville. Same with Jordan Zumwalt, the LB from UCLA. Both are "hair on fire" LB thumpers who can contribute on special teams initially and grow into starters within 2-3 years.
-
I really don't like the idea of going with a DB any earlier than the 4th round. Seems downright wasteful considering our roster and current needs
-
DB Kyle Fuller from Virginia Tech visiting with us today.
We love us some 2nd round DBs it seems.
-
I would loathe the Bills for taking Barr. Guy is going to be a massive bust in the NFL.
-
I don't think we've brought in Benjamin, but thought this would be the best thread for this without starting one for him specifically... he was already being told he needed to lose some weight, reportedly, by some teams.
-
Joe Buscaglia @JoeBuscaglia 51s
Not a great look MT @Gil_Brandt Was told Kelvin Benjamin recently blew off workout w NFL coach who made special trip, said he was too tired
Just saw that Benjamin's agent is Eugene Parker.
That, my friends, is reason alone to pass on the guy in my books.

Fearless prediction....

It's going to be amazing in here tomorrow night.
I'll admit, I'm ready to go into full-on Hate Mode if the Bills take Beckham or Martin at #9 so I'm not excluded from my own prediction.
