  1. Rayzer...buddy...calm down. The fact that you are upset over a preseason game (comparing it to the pain of the SB losses) scares the living crap out of me. Its a LONG season ahead of us, I've always noticed that the teams that end up winning the SB are the ones that occur early problems and overcome them, and that team ends up stronger because it won through difficult times.

  2. Shane Matthews is the most battle tested, and honestly as a backup he wouldnt be that bad. Now, I REALLY like Chris Redman, I think that he showed a lot of guts and accuracy when he did get his chances, and could rebound with a new team. That is, if he's healthy.

  3. What I hate is the NCAA always tries to come off so high and mighty. Listen, when Mike Williams declared himself for the NFL Draft, it was LEGAL. Then it became ILLEGAL after he had already proceeded. They are punishing him for Maurice Clarrett's screw-up.

Just once I'd like the NCAA to tell it like it is...you dont want Mike Williams back, even though you know you are bending him over by not allowing this kid back into college, because you are worried about your cash flow and figure this is a fantastic way to demonstrate to good football players the evils of leaving college early. Simple as that. Now let the NCAA focus on adding 12 more bowl games to this year's championship series for the "glory of the game" and obviously not for the money. *cough cough*

  4. Kevin Gilbride was a huge reason for our failure last year, his idiotic play calling really screwed us badly. I dont put the blame totally on him (GW's inept leadership, The O-Line being crappy and Bledsoe forgetting how to play football share some sort of blame) but I do think a majority of our problems came from piss-poor playcalling and not being prepared enough.

On another note entirely, I went to Giants camp on Tuesday with a few of my college buddies and we saw Gilbride for ourselves, already corrupting the mind of poor Eli Manning. Too bad the Giants practice so far away from their fans or I would have tried to jump the fence and taken a swing at him, a la Buddy Ryan :D

  5. Brown has shown up surprsingly well so far and appears to have been headed to being our #2 behind Bledsoe and Losman and all of his potential (this simply means he hadn't done anything real yet) was likely going to be our disaster QB in my judgement anyway.

My sense is that the JP injury heightens the importance of really testing Brown to see if he has the right stuff to be our #2 (I doubt it up to this point but his initial success indicates I may well be wrong).

My sense is that the Bills will become far more interested in the waiver wire as some QBs deemed and paid as starters will prove not able to cut the mustard.  I would feel bad taking one of these losers as our starter but certainly do not feel bad at all taking them as our disaster QB if Drew sucks, and Travis B. sucks, or more injuries occur.  Quincy Carter as disaster QB anyone?

Carter signed with the Jets yesterday, I actually would have been most at ease with him as our 3rd stringer. I do agree with you though, Travis Brown has looked decent...and lets face it, aside from that one year where Bledsoe almost DIED, he's remained very durable. I'd go after Chris Redman, Shane Matthews (if he's still out there) or Chad Hutchinson as our disaster QB. My first choice is Redman, I think that guy can still be a damn good NFL player, he got really shafted in Baltimore when they forced him to start waaaaaay before he was ready.
