You're reaching man. This can mean many things. It can mean he wears his heart on his sleeve , doesn't know why he continues to carry himself like that. I don't know what it means but judging by the picture and the 100 emoji it doesn't seem to be anything negative or any type of injury.
Oh and he destroyed the Skins secondary there. We need 14 for 16 games. No doubt he'll put up elite numbers and hopefully remain a Bill.
I thought it was lyrics , good catch. Yeah this was a super reach by the opPoor trolling job is poor. For those of you who haven't figured out its trolling, Sammy posted lyrics to a Rich Homie Quan song and this doofus is now saying Sammy is injured

Anyone remember I think Shefter or Polian talking about the pre draft interview process and said Teddy and EJ Manuel were two of the nicest, genuine QB''s he talked to in the last 10 years or something like that?
Such a Shame. One of the very few non Bill qbs I rooted for.
-
I strongly disagree. Dareus stood there at times jumping around like a 350 pound ballerina. He was also used quite a bit in coverage.
Just thinking about this is sickening.[/quote,
Looking back , the whole scheme was sickening
-
It's more a testament to how bi polar Rex's defense was. Looking back, that scheme was just a mess!I'm not sure about much much much more consistent defense that your talking about, our back field is a huge question mark IMO
There's definitely question marks back there but there's also a ton of potential and I feelthis staff will get this D to reach that potential

Idk. I could see Shaq being a beast out the gate. There's a reason he was predicted to go top 10 in a draft with a lot of top end defensive talent.Just have a solid camp and do your job Shaq, we're all rooting for ya. I can't think of a better situation for him to be in with his surrounding cast, plus Frasier and McD helping him along.
I think he will still take a full year or two to peak but it will be interesting to watch either way.
My guess is if you did a redraft in 3 more years you would have Shaq in the mid 2nd round. Good player, hard worker on and off the field.
Has a lot of traits you can't coach up - size, power, hustle, maybe he lacks speed but he's got great instincts and is quick for a man his size, which makes up for the lack of speed many knock him for.
He'll see plenty of 1 on 1 match ups and I can see him immediately having an impact, he's got the potential to be a beast in this scheme.
Hopefully the shoulder was the main reason he fell and we end up with a steal.

Yea that was a great read and has me excited about this offense.Great read! Thanks for posting. I especially enjoyed the route concepts and the quotes from Coach Walsh on the West Coast Offense. Maybe we can get a more athletic Steve Young out of this with Tyrod..fingers crossed!
Dimarco could be a true impact player for this offense!

Thanks for the post!
"In the 15 games that LeSean McCoy, Sammy Watkins, Robert Woods and Charles Clay all played in, Taylor completed 64-percent of his passes for 3,362 yards, throwing 26 touchdowns and six interceptions. In the 14 games without either one of those players, those numbers dropped to a 61.2-percent completion rate, 2,697 passing yards with just 11 touchdowns and six interceptions."
If we could stay healthier as well, this O could really be dangerous. Add in what should be a much improved and much much much more consistent defense as well and this could be one of the most feared offenses in the game.
There's not too many players that could replicate a healthy Tyrod ,Shady and Sammy on a scout team so just preparing for this offense will be challenging

Idk, players progress and I'm giving him a mulligan for last year. He has one helluva spin move and powe rushing ability from the DE position, at least in college. I personally see his game translating pretty well on this level, especially in a 4 man front,he can collapse that line on any given play, plays to the whistle and idk, to me his power+speed is impressivehe will play better but he looks really slow. i doubt he is a big sack guy in this league. he will set the edge and play his role. he might have like 7-8 sacks and everyone will be like SEE HE'S GOOD but that will be because Hughes and Dareus flushed the QB his way much like what happened with Alexander last season

Yeah I LOVED that pickup from day 1, I feel he could turn into a star here. Remember he wasn't a full time starter because GB was loaded at S and had a rotation going on, even with limited playing time Hyde was a playmaker and leader out there, was always in at crucial moments in a game, and his versatility is off the charts. FS, SS , NICKEL CB, PR, KR.Yeah? Did you enjoy watching Duke Williams and Jonathan Meeks get tooled on all over the field last year? It was freaking embarrassing. Versatile DB's like Hyde are essential to this defense.
I agree with the poster you responded to but he's going to be such an upgrade over what we had last year and he's also a natural leader, going to be the leader of that secondary, and leader of the defense as a whole.
He allows the DC to get extra creative because of his versatility. That GB defense is going to miss him big time.

Glenn is definitely an elite LT And extremely valuable to the team but our line and offense didn't miss a beat without him... Which is more a testament to the line as a whole and coachingI actually think they would miss Shady more in 2017 than they did in 2015 and 2016 when he missed a few because I feel significantly worse about the depth behind him.
Tyrod is 1a and Shady 1b for me. I think I'd put Hyde at 2 because he has to be the vet leader of the secondary and I put Glenn at 3 because he is 2nd only to Shady in terms of the best player on this team in my opinion. Sammy at 4, Jerry Hughes at 5.

Taylor
Shady
Dareus (Feel he has a huge bounce back year and returns to dominating with being back in a 43. His dominance will make the rest of defense job that much easier.)
Watkins
Clay
Hughes
-
Amother grear move by Whaley letting Nigel walk..
-
Clay did miss games. Oleary did just fine in his place.A stud with a trick knee... He goes down, and then what? -Run McCoy into the ground until HE gets hurt?... People are calling for 10 wins, but for the life of me I cannot see how...
-
Yea I was about to respond to that post. Watkins size has nothing to do with his injuries. He's 23 , younger than some rookies. He caught some bad breaks on the injury front. He has also shown the toughness and willingness to play with injuries and be productive!6'1" 211 isn't awfully small for a WR... not by a long shot.

DE.. but I love our starters. See Shaq having a big year!
Was suprised how good LB looked when the names are right there together.
Fb or ol in generalI went with safety, but te would also have worked. If there was a poll for strongest spot it would be FB
I don't understand why so many are down on TE. Clay is a stud. O'Leary clearly showed progression and the ability to be a quality #2.. Sure it gets dark after him but we only dress 3 max on gameday... TE is just fine imo..

It's not Coach Marrone. It''s not Mr Marrone. It's Saint Doug!

Yup. We all know what Hughes , Dareus and Kyle can do in an attacking 43 D. I expect Shaq to ball out as well, think he's going to be a very well rounded DE.I actually believe they will be better then the d-line we had the first couple of years when Mario was here. Players are now comfortable with what they're doing and Shaq will bring more energy and effort than Mario did. Just would like to know how is the depth looking ir is gonna look. This defense have the potential to be very solid which could help the offense a lot. Can't wait to see things get going. My prediction is double digit sacks for all 4.
As far as depth, DE depth scares me but I'm sure somebody steps up. Also, Lorax can play some DE as well.
Another guy I'm super excited about on that DL is Adolphus. I think he can be a BEAST in this scheme. His specialty was attacking the QB so it can be a perfect fit.
I have high hopes for the DL. All starts with # 99 and he's gotten nothing but positive feedback about his conditioning and effort going back to OTAs

I know that is a very popular outlook on this board but many coaches and teams have success in year 1 in today's NFL. It's about how good the staff can get the scheme to adjust to players strengths rather than players adjusting to a scheme.I agree but think this year will be rough: New coaches, new players, new systems.
As far as too many new players/not enough talent, I completely disagree.
Offense we have all 5 OL back, and a potential upgrade at RT. And we have our 4 top offensive weapons now going into year 3 TOGETHER,Taylor, Sammy, Shady and Clay.. Added a stud FB in Dimarco. And upgraded our WRs. Sammy-Zay-Holmes> Sammy-Woods-Goodwin. Our only hit came at backup RB, the easiest position where an unknown can come in and replicate TD Mikes success. Overall we improved an already dangerous offense...
Defense did experience some losses but we have leaders at every level. Kyle , Lorenzo and Hyde all have natural leadership qualities and are very respected vets. Shaq,Dareus, and Hughes are now in a scheme that they are perfect for and should have huge bounce back years. Adolphus is a great fit as well.
So DL-upgrade
We lose Zach Brown at LB but gain Ragland, imo a natural MLB that I can see having an immediate impact and storming on the scene. He will add a nastyness to the middle of that D. We add Hodges who is coming off a fantastic year, so essentially Ragland /Hodges> Brown
LB-Upgrade
Safety we upgrade big time. Poyer and Hyde are much better than Graham and Duke or Colt Anderson.
CB is the only group on D we MIGHT have downgraded but I could also see it being an upgrade. Seymour > Robey. Darby is Darby and I feel White can be more Consistent than Gilmore. Not to mention they will benefit greatly from the new scheme.
I just don't see the lack of talent that many on here are so adamant about
-
43 base. Attack the QB Dareus, he's proven he can dominate in the run and pass rush in this specific scheme. I'd protect him, obviously if I felt he was 110% focused and done puffing the magic dragon. You never know which Dareus you'll get.
I like your list. Id have Dareus on their and Ragland who I think is going to be a stud/staple of this defense for years.
I'd replace Zay With Charles Clay on your list as well. Clay is a stud. He can do it all at the TE position. His loss would be a much bigger impact
Edit-
Taylor
Sammy
Shady
Glenn
Miller
Dareus
Darby
Ragland
Hyde
Shaq
Clay is my next man up.

I agree that the fans around here underrate the talent on the Bills.
As for McDermott, i truly believe nothing matters accept wins. I agree McDermott is doing the kind of things that I've seen successful coaches do before, but unsuccessful coaches also have done those things and not won.
Organization and attitude are among the things successful coaches need, but that isn't all. They need leadership, for example. We see McDermott attempting to to lead, but the only measure of leadership is whether the troops follow. We don't know that yet, can't know it.
Tactical excellence is necessary. Xs and Os. We have no idea how good McDermott, Dennison and other are at offensive play design. We don't even have a good idea about his defensive excellence, although we know he's coached a defense that had some good years.
We don't know about his game planning.
We don't know about his game management.
Those are probably just some of the things we don't know about him yet. I don't even know what the others are.
I'm excited for the new season to get underway, and I WANT McDermott to be the great young coach he could be, but we simply won't know what we're getting until we've seen a half dozen regular season games, maybe more. Frankly, he might need the entire first season to figure out what he's doing.
This is all a very real possibility. I guess it's kinda how I view Reggie Ragland, and feel his college game will translate to NFL success, of course ppl say he's to slow , I say his instincts will make up for the lack of speed.
Suprisingly McD has given me this same feel, that his style of coaching and his instincts towards his players will translate to success.
If the defense takes the jump I anticipate them to make, and the offense improves a little bit, I see this team being legit contenders this year
-
I'm 30 , and since 16-17 I've followed this team like a hawk. I've never stated this about a Bills coach before because I've never felt this way about a Bills coach. I think he's going to be our Mike TomlinThis.
Why can't people just wait until he actually coaches ONE game before annoiting him as the next great coach?
I've heard this SO many times the past 20 years. Seems some never learn.
-
I guess I wouldn't call Taylor a Franchise QB but I feel he can be a Winning QB.He's a fine coach, you can tell already.
Won't matter without the franchise QB though, sadly enough. We may already have the right qb on our roster, but if we don't he'd better have a plan to get one AT ALL COSTS or he's back to a lifetime coordinator job.
There are a lot of coaches that could have been HOF but were fired after a few years because they didn't have the right qb. We have 2 1st rounders next year, I'd throw in our 2019 1st round pick to make a run at a trade up for a stud qb if I were the coach and could influence my front office enough to do it. Gotta roll the dice baby.
I feel he has a very unique skillset that can be successful in the right scheme and with a defense that isn't so bi polar.
Being that Seattle has had so many prime time games, I've watched enough of Russell Wilson to say he wouldn't have sniffed the divisional Rd of the playoffs without that defense. Yet he's considered a Great franchise QB, because of Carroll and that D.
I think Tyrod has the same potential , hetc does need some help from his defense and his WR to stay healthy though. I just feel he makes enough plays to win games and very very rarely will lose us a game with his knack to not throw ints. Give Taylor the defense we thought we were getting with Rex and not only do we make the playoffs but we'll have a legit shot at making a run in the playoffs.
-
Rex had 2 deep playoff runs on top of the bravado fwiw.
Exactly the point.
That bravado was not a formula to sustain success..
-
I am all in on this guy, I just want the Pegulas to give him at least 5 years.
He looks like such a natural, I think it will be apparent very quickly that he is the right man for the job and he will be a staple for this Bills team

The next Byrd situation?
Dude got so overpaid , was consistently inconsistent and was horrendous at stopping the run and is the opposite of a Leader...
I said this immediately after we picked White- he will be wayyyyy more beloved here, mainly because he will be an overall better cb,imo. Yes Gilmore has the "upside" they say but he's going into year 6, he's a vet, he has failed to reach that upside. Period.
We've had endless debates about Gilmore, you don't have that many consistent debates if that player is elite and doing his job! Even the debates on Sammy aren't questioning his skills, it's his health. We all know he's elite. Wit Gilmore it was all about his skills, and again, you don't have those debates year in and year out about elite players.
That TV time will only bring those debates to a larger audience, on a larger scale. And the consensus will agree he is extremely overrated. Good riddance
