  1. The numbers don't support it but Shady is still a top 10 Playmaker imo. Just watch him play , still makes moves only he can execute and is usually the best guy on the field.

If he gets dealt to a team with even a good passing attack, he could and will be an absolute monster. He's been one here since joining with a backup and rookie QB!

Point being, they better get handsomely compensated, because Shady will be a huge addition.

Yeah but seriously, the entire top end of that organization needs to be replaced, including GM.  So these are moves in the right direction.

BTW:  Hue Jackson's favorite pastime was reminding people he is the head coach.  What is he going to do now!?  He'll never be HC in this league again.

LMAO!! This genuinely gave me a good laugh. So true!!! Yeah he could get another shot but that'd be years down the road. If he gets an OC job and kills it ,  a team can justify his hiring by pointing to the dysfunction in the Browns organization as a direct result of his poor record.

He had his team in almost every game, they just couldn't close the game out. That's what a losing culture will do

    WR – Benjamin.  Terrible.

LG – Ducasse?  Seems more like a backup G to me.

C – Bodine?  Seems more like a backup center to me.

RB – McCoy.  I don’t expect him to be on the team in 2019.

RG – John Miller.  Need to get better here.

RT – Mills.  Need to get better here.

WR – Holmes.  Only OK at special teams.  Not a starter at WR.

(edit) QB - Peterman.  Anderson.  Not sure how I forgot this, but yes, probably both will not be on the roster next season.  We need a quality vet backup for Allen, and I would like to see another young guy that has some talent, to replace Peterman.

LB – Alexander.  Still a good player, but he is getting long in the tooth.

    DT – Kyle Williams.  Retirement.

DE – Murphy.  Guy can’t stay healthy.

DE – Hughes.  Still a top player, but will he be traded?

CB – Gaines.  Need to get better here.

That is a ton of players.  Can the Bills fill these spots via FA and the draft?  Is it realistic to think the Bills can fill these spots with starters that will improve the team?  I think it is possible with the cap money ($91m) and draft picks (10 – below).

    2019 draft picks:

    Round 1original pick.

    Round 2original pick.

    Round 3: original pick.

    Round 4original pick.

Round 4:  additional selection acquired from the Kansas City Chiefs as part of Reggie Ragland trade.

    Round 5: original pick.

Round 5:  additional selection acquired from the Oakland Raiders as part of AJ McCarron trade.

    Round 6original pick.

    Round 7original pick.

Round 7:  additional selection acquired from the Carolina Panthers as part of Kevon Seymour trade.

Football is a 53 man roster with 22 starters. This is a perfect example of people having unrealistic expectations , you can't have a stud at every position. Miller , Mills , Ducass are playing average at least. Lorax is rated as one of the best edge defenders in the game. Guy is like fine wine, getting better with age.

I agree. He has the potential to be the best MLB in the league . A cornerstone of this D for the Future.

But am I the only one that saw Indy pick in him pretty consistently. Shades of week 2 vs LA , where they picked on him for the whole first half. But at 20 years of age and being a rookie at MLB , these things happen....

With that said , His teammates and coaches have also consistently said , since Training camp, that he rarely makes same mistake twice , always learning n getting better.. I expect him to be an All pro by 2020. Pro Bowler by next year.

If we can get Oliver or Bosa or an elite DL , this D is set . Stud MLB, check. Legit shutdown, already top 10 CB , check.  Legit top 10 pass rusher, check. Legit top 3 safety Duo, check. Legit stud nickel cb, check.

Then there's Milano ( flashes elite potential) , Murphy , Star who are all playing above average.  And Lorax who like Hughes is playing outta his mind .( Didn't mention him because I'm not sure if he'll be here next year).   Lawson , who is quietly playing much better. Both Phillips playing good, with ton of potential. Get Oliver on that line , a legit #2 cb and some depth pieces and u got a top 5 defense for years.

I Love what this staff has built on THAT SIDE. They built it with LONG TERM success in mind.

Gailey's offense was lightyears better  than this team in every position besides running back. I don't think he's trying to build a defense first team, so much as he inherited a team that already had most of the defensive pieces in place, and doesn't really need to be rebuilt like the offense does.

That would make sense and all , except the defense he inherited 1.5 years ago only has 3 of the same starters, Kyle, Jerry and Lorax. We already rebuilt the defense

It is not in McD's process to outright tank. However they seem to be in a "Soft Tank" mode (That is try to win as much as possible but do not make aggressive moves to improve the roster to try and squeak out one extra win which wouldn't be very helpful) which kind of stands by what they did the previous year (Trading Sammy and Darby for picks but taking back players like EJ and Matthews to help compete.)

I do think that the defense will be good enough to win 3-4 more games (I think they at least split the Jets and Fins games while sneaking 1-2 other games) for this team which would put them between 5-6 wins. That's not going to net a massive pick but it should put them well within the top 10 draft wise where they can find a dynamic offensive player hopefully.

Oh yeah , the ol "Soft Tank " ... Um... ?

I'm with you. The season somewhat ended last week for me personally. I just want to see Allen develop this year now. This ***** side show with Peterman and Anderson will be tiring.

Yup. We almost have to be perfect on D and ST to sniff a win . In this league that's not sustainable , it's all about next year imo. I'm willing to give the staff a pass because the dead cap, young d talent and the picks and FA $ next year. I hope Allen sits til late November

I know they have been caught a couple times, but I love the rub plays the Colts are running.  They know the refs won't call it every time, so they use that to their advantage.  Wish we used them more.  Easy way to create separation.

I feel like literally every team runs them except us. And exactly for the reason u stated. They can't and won't call it consistently. Way more pro than con

I generally agree with you. In particular, there are some smaller running backs who are just really good and never taking big shots - they just sort of have a knack for getting their body into the right spot to minimize impact. Or they deliver the blow. But, what I saw last weekend from Watson made MY ribs hurt... he was getting blasted with some huge shots. I just can't imagine anyone being able to withstand a full season of those sorts of hits.   https://www.si.com/nfl/2018/10/08/deshaun-watson-texans-cowboys-sunday-night-football

We have one on our team. Shady played in 12+ games since his rookie year,2009
