  1. Cutler actually had a pretty subpar Senior Bowl game, though he did have a good week of practice leading up to the game. Same w/ Brodrick Bunkley.
  2. Glover is w/ the Rams. If they're going to look for 3 technique DTs, they'd do better to trade down and look to draft a guy like Brodrick Bunkley of Florida State.
  3. I hope he's kept also, just not @ the expense of getting a quality interior OL or two plus a DT in free agency, allowing us to use the 8th pick on the best available.
  4. Oh, and by the way... Rest In Peace, Kirby.
  5. Some pencil-necked geek who's never played the game before. Like me.
  6. Man, was that Category a mean mofo or what?
  7. Makes perfect sense to me. I think it's a very logical statement.
  8. You peeked @ my list, didn't you? How else did you know that winning these folks over was my #1 priority?
  9. Another time.........another place, okay?
  10. I do like Huff's versatility as you mentioned. It reminds me of Carnell Lake, the former Pro Bowl safety of the Steelers who also was able to play corner, and play the position very well, when Rod Woodson went down w/ an injury.
  11. True, but "by choice" can mean more than just 'this player sucks and isn't worth the money'. Some teams just can't afford to keep players and others make judgment calls on a player (hit the wall, injury prone, character issue, etc.).
  12. Sure would, but there's a chance that most of the true impact players will be taken by our pick. D'Brickashaw Ferguson? Gone, more than likely Mario Williams? Gone, more than likely A.J. Hawk? Gone, more thank likely While I don't think Haloti Ngata will be a bust, I don't think he's the level of difference maker that those 3 will be. [i didn't include guys like Reggie Bush or Vince Young because we certainly don't need to go after skill players.]
  13. Don't remind me. That's how we got stuck w/ that damn Takeo Spikes. I don't think every need can be addressed via free agency, but I do think we can help our offensive line w/ an experienced interior lineman (LeCharles Bentley, perhaps?) and then get a run stuffer for our D line (Ma'ake Kemoeatu of Baltimore; though interest in him is heating up, he still wouldn't break the bank to acquire). Now, if nothing is done in free agency to address the lines, then I'm all for using the first pick to address needs there, as long as we don't reach. You don't just take someone to fill a need if you can get a better player (like Huff) or if the player isn't quite the caliber of the pick (after Ferguson, there's NO offensive lineman I'd take w/ the 8th overall pick). Now, if there's a trade down, it would depend on where we're trading down to. If we're moving down just a few spots, I'd LOVE to see us address our pass rush by drafting Tamba Hali of PENN STATE. If we're talking about moving down toward the end of the round, then I'd love to see us get a stud like Max Jean-Gilles, the massive road grader who would really help solidify our interior line @ guard.
  14. He was playing that long when he was SI's cover boy and the media darling of everyone. Considering how he came into this year as one of the highest profile players in the nation, I'm sure he knew he was going to play a lot of minutes. He handled it well. The guy's a class act as well as a great college player. Unfortunately, I think he'll be another Duke player to play very well in college and his career won't translate as well in the pros. I don't wish for that even though I'm a Heels fan because the guy is such a class act, but I just get the feeling that he'll be ordinary @ the NBA level.
  15. There is a rumor going around that they may have a free agency signing period before the draft. I'm still checking that out.
  16. Oh, you mean there is free agency to consider as well? Imagine that.
  17. Green re-signs? Well, there goes the market for injury-ridden fumblers.
  18. Well, we could always take the best tackle in the draft w/ our first round pick. I'm sure Ferguson will still be there. If not, there's plenty of other LTs worthy of the 8th overall pick in the draft, for sure.
  19. I hear ya. I'm sure Ferguson will be gone by the 8th pick, as will be Mario Williams and AJ Hawk.
  20. Yeah, I was sad too @ how the Heels spoiled Redick's last game @ Cameron. Real tear jerker. Redick will make a real good coach for the Blue Devils.
  21. Moreover, shouldn't players also ASSume some of the debt like the owners do? And, maybe the players can throw in their appearance fees into the kitty also, since they want to discuss ALL sources of revenue.
  22. Maybe Miami's decision to hire one of our ex coaches as a coordinator will be as laughable as the last time one of our ex coaches got hired to coordinate for someone.
