Where does all the love for Posluzny come from?
R. Rich replied to NY Nole's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sure are different players. I was addressing someone's broad generalization that PSU players are all busts. Even though I'm relatively new to stereotyping, I still believe that this is incorrect. -

Yeah. I refuse to call the murderous ex player anything else. I heard the verdict too; best justice money can buy. You do realize that Mr Cochran also defended another "innocent" person named Michael Jackson, right? No, I'm not calling TMEP a bust. I'm just applying your logic in regards to character to the argument. So, had TMEP not had a hall of fame career and would've just been an average guy, he'd still be a bust because of the character issues. Instead of using TMEP, let's use Travis Henry, who has had a decent career, though nothing special. He's also had some character issues (something 'bout underage girls comes to mind). Considering his issues, and the fact that he hasn't set the league on fire, would you consider him a bust too? -
Patrick Willis love-fest is alive and well

You're such a negative nancy. BTW, what's in store for draft day? I know you guys have some sort of all out shindig planned, right? One of these days, I'll actually get to see for myself. -
Name any college players no one's heard of...

1. He's been all over Sirius' broadcasts and the NFL Network featured him in a couple different stories. He's no "sleeper" any more, unfortunately. 2. Great athlete! He'd be a nice player to add on, though I'm not sure he'll even be around in the late rounds. 3. Injury is a concern, plus he's not the quickest TE out there. Might be worth a late round pick. 4. Copy cat!! -

Hampton U's Justin Durant is a very solid LB prospect. He's had some good workouts too. I wouldn't mind seeing him end up w/ the Bills. -
If the Bills could have Kalil as part of a trade down and still get a guy like Ben Grubbs later, that would be awesome, as I've been very impressed in what I've seen of Kalil. Of course, I don't think it's in the cards though, especially since there's a stong possibility that Walker could move inside to guard or that they could be ready to go w/ Preston there.

I think he was asking that of Ted Bundy, not you Bob.

High character players don't also nearly behead people. So, by that logic, if TMEP had just had a couple 1,000 yard rushing seasons and never would've had the 2,000 yard season, he'd be a "bust" too, huh? -
Okay....

Good point, David. I dislike the term "bust" in general. It goes back to people saying Ralph Sampson was a "bust" when he played basketball. He wasn't a phenomenal player, but was an All Star, an All Star MVP, and got his team to the NBA Finals. A disappointment to the level of his hype (he was a college player of the year twice)? Yes. A bust? No. Same applies here. -
I think it was funnier over in the thread on the Stadium Wall. Maybe you should've remembered the "rolleyes" smilie? Oh well.

Logic be damned; we want a huge run stuffing DT!!! Once we get that, we're goin' to the Super Bowl, baby!

Courtney Brown? Probably. A 3 time Pro Bowl LB a "bust"? Nah. You can say he didn't live up to his hype, but to me, a bust is someone who did absolutely nothing @ the next level. Arrington doesn't meet that criteria. Tony Mandarich was a bust, as was Brian Bosworth, Ryan Leaf, and Akili Smith, among others. -
Can someone tell me, once again, just how many rounds the NFL draft is?

Yep. I vividly remember all of those first round busts PSU had @ RB, like Blair Thomas, Curtis Enis, and especially KJ. That last first round bust they had particularly convinced me. -
Oh yeah? Well, what 'bout this one:

Heck, I don't even think Posluszny is the best defensive player on his own team. That honor goes to Joe Cianciolo. Joe Pa didn't like him, so he put Posluszny in there, becasue he knew it would be easier to cash in favors so that Puz could get awards he didn't deserve, like 2 Bednariks and the Butkus award he stole last year. Joey C wuz robbed! As for who the best defensive player was last year, that's a toughie. It could be Ryan Smith of Florida. I hear the coaches screwed w/ him scheme-wise, which is why he only had 8 INTs last year instead of the 19 he should've had. Nelson only had 6 INTs, and he was Urban Meyer's boy. I hear ol' Urban cashed in some favors so that Reggie would get all of the hype over Ryan. What a shame. -
Ahhh, what the heck. I'll be bold and take the Arizona Cardinals.

The thread is now open. All teams are available to anyone, except Philadelphia is not available to stuckincincy. Neither is Cincinnati.

This is the thread where requests for teams should be posted. I will update the list as the teams are selected. Selections are honored on a first come, first serve basis. [REMINDER: The 3 round TBD Mock Draft begins on Monday, April 2nd, at 10:00am EST (time has been changed due to circumstances beyond my control)] RULES FOR 3 ROUND MOCK DRAFT: The TBD 3 Round Mock Draft will start Monday, April 2nd 2007 at 9:00am. Since some people may have difficulty using the chat room, we will do a threaded draft. There will be some rules that will be STRICTLY adhered to in the interest of keeping the draft from becoming too time consuming. TIME LIMITS For the first round, you will have a maximum of 5 minutes to make your selection. Trades are allowed, as long as the agreed upon trade is submitted within your 5 minute time limit. For both the second and third rounds, you will have a maximum of 3 minutes to make your selection or to submit an agreed upon trade. Everyone is welcome to participate. Please be mindful of the other participants, though. We want this draft to be successful and run smoothly, so if you have any concerns about having the time to participate, please PM me before we begin. Any GM that fails to submit a pick or agreed upon trade in their allotted time will FORFEIT THEIR PICK! If there are any other questions or concerns about the mock draft, feel free to PM me. Have fun!
