I agree. I think we should be taking at least 3 long shots a game. Keep the D honest. But it worked out this week only thowing one deep pass...on the game winning drive on 3rd and 6. Turk set that up well, throwing to Head in the flats on 3rd all game, then trying the deep ball when we needed it most. very classy

When is his contact up? I would assume its after this season...He's one guy I would like to see get an extension. He's an integral part of this offense and I dont wanna see him go. Although he may wanna go somewhere to "be the man", I see him as someone who would like to stay in Buffalo and help this team win championships.
I see us letting Jabari Greer go after this year due too how much money he's gonna want. While he may be a standup guy and wanna stay here, I think theres gonna be some good money thrown his way. We can't keep em all.

Lynch is the toughest Bill I've seen to date.
Whitner, Poz, Mitchell and Head Jackson Honorable mention.
-
And now that we have a defense that actually looks like it can force a few punts...
It looks good no doubt. I just hope that wasnt based on how undermanned our opponant was.

I say we offer JP in a trade to New England for a high draft pick. In there desperate situation, they might be willing to part with next year's 2nd rounder. Could you imagine him throwing bombs to Randy Freakin' Moss? That would be ridiculous.
What do you guys think?
yeah we should trade the only other QB that knows how to play on our roster. then regret it once trent gets hurt. keep jp.

Both of your presences were clearly felt today. Our D is legit.
AFC EAST CHAMPS 2008!!!!!

Pass blocking has never been a problem since last year. Pretty solid unit as far as that's concerned.
Run blocking has been rather inconsistent... I still worry about how the team will close out a close game with shoddy run blocking.
Good first game though
agreed. I think the run blocking is marginal at best. Our pass blocking is top notch though. I love the schemes.

Nice defense.
Not taking anything away from Kyle, but I could get 1.5 sacks playing next to Stroud.
-
Stroud for player of the game. I can't even explain how giddy I am to finally have a bonafide superstar in the middle again.
Game balls go to Roscoe, Mitchell and Moorman.
I was worries that the rain would ruin our opener after watching Trents 1st few series. We got lucky that they didnt get the challenge flag thrown in time on Evans' catch or we wouldnt have been up 7-0. Offensively I thought we were ok, nothing special, but I see us flourishing as the season goes on.
I know we all enjoyed this day. Its gonna be a good week

That would have made the most sense to me, too. I'm a little concerned at how quickly he went on IR, but I'm more annoyed with the fact that we have a season-ending injury before the first game is played.
It's a major blow fsho

I live in Las Vegas...Game starts at 10am
-Wake up between 6am-7am after staying up til 2-3am because I was excited for the game.
-Pack a bowl. Indulge.
-Either jump on the internet and read about the game or play a game of madden, bills vs (team we are playing that day).
-Go to the sports book, place my bets. this weeks big ticket is Bills +1 and Cowboys -4 2 pick. $100 to win $260.
-Finish off that bowl.
-Go to Home Plate, the sports bar when I watch every game. Patron silver chilled and newcastle til the games done. packing one up at the end of the 1st 2nd and 3rd quarters.
-if the bills win, ill stick around for the 2nd set of games. If they lose, I go home and eventually sulk myself to sleep.
-
If your picking in the top 7, you pretty much have to take a RB number 1. the top 10 RB's this season are head and shoulders above the rest imho and one wont fall to you in the 2nd. If youre happy with jones-drew or willis mcgahee as your #1 rb, take tom brady in the top 7.
-
We'll cross that bridge when we get to it. But we won't get to it.
I hope you knocked on wood
-
How does that help us? If he plays well and starts all year, his value goes up, making it more likely that we won't be able to afford to keep him. And we certainly won't franchise him.
Greer wont be a bill next year. We're gonna have to pay Evans, Peters (maybe) and will probably lock up Edwards IF he doesnt get too banged up this year. While I like Trent, I hate injury riddled QBs and would rather get rid of him if he's gonna get hurt every year
-
I thought Greer had some tremendous games last year...every time I remember seeing him, he was in the receivers back pocket. Some of those throws were completed, but still...the guy is like glue on his man
werd. i love greer

I am mildly surprised that Robert Felton did not get signed to the PS, but that group looks OK to me.
me too

bad mistake by nfl.com. On that note Rudi is pretty much done. I still think the guy was nothing more then a product of the talent around him for awhile. He's just so one dimensonal. One of the most boring rb's I've ever watched.
no doubt

Preseason is over and the roster is set. The coaching staff has had an entire off-season to evaluate, plan and implement changes for this upcoming season. The front office has dropped some new talent into Jauron's lap. The young players on the team have gained more experience from last year.
While this is always an optimistic and anticipation-filled time of year, I for one are looking for results from this team and coaching staff. Tangible results in terms of wins and losses that would support that the team is moving in the right direction. No more hope or hype, just results on the field in real games.
Here is what I intend to look for from this team and staff in the early weeks of the season:
1. Since Jauron has been the coach, this team has not looked ready to play in week one. Even in a loss, they need to look competitive, energized and disciplined on opening day.
2. Edwards needs to show he deserves the starting spot.
3. The healthy and more experienced defense needs to make a big move from bottom of the league to at least in the upper half.
4. Turk needs to show that he was a the single best choice for the OC job. This means more points from the offense and evidence that they can put away bad teams or win some games from behind.
5. Jauron needs to make good in-game decisions in terms of clock management and critical plays where the head coach typically has input into offensive and defensive play selection. Good use of last 2 minutes in each half. A little emotion and "calling a spade a spade" publically wouldn't hurt either. Show us some damned determination coach.
6. Special teams need to continue a high level of play.
Anything less than 3-2 going into the bye week will make the playoffs an uphill battle.
It's "show time".
I think the season rests in the hands of our OL. NO matter how good our D or ST plays, if our O cant get blocking, we're in trouble. I love our blocking schemes since mcnally left, lets hope Chambers and Dockery at the Tackles will be able to produce.

They could suspend Brady against the Chefs and they'd still win the game.
For those who have access to a sports bookie/book.
Bet of the year, Chiefs under 6 wins for the year. +115 atm
-
The Buffalo Bills are not intimidated by the New England Patriots any longer, the Giants layed out the blue print and then stamped it into history forever and ever, for everyone to see. Tom Brady becomes ordinary when rushed or knocked down and most defenses are going to be all in his face this year including ours.
The Pats are going down.
While our defense is better than last year, what makes you think that we can bring it to the pats like the giants did last year? I don't see it.
-
I'm floored by these rankings. I'd have to say top 5, if not number 1. being behind the Giants, Pats, Chiefs is embarrassing. Dude is clueless

I've watched football for a LONG time, and to my eyes Bruce WAS the best ever! If the man had played his entire career in Dallas, the case would be closed in a hurry!! I have never witnessed, nor will I ever again, a player who absolutely scared the manure out of a team more than Bruce Smith! Laurence Taylor was isolated on the weakest links offensively and turned loose, and Reggie White and David "Deacon" Jones played in exactly what your question brought up.... the 4-3!! Bruce is simply the best, in my book, and I feel wonderful every time I think about him being a Buffalo Bills DE!! What memories....
definitely the best. thx bruce

..other QB's would have made the same throw, and gotten picked.
What other qbs? Rob Johnson? Billy joe hobert?
Just a stupid comment
Trent Edwards was injury prone

imo 95% of all "injury prone players" remain injury prone.
