Regarding the OP's second question about off-setting penalties...

I believe the refs ruled it as though there were 2 distinct incidents, so all the penalties were not lumped together.

They lumped everything together that flowed directly from the play or occurred as the play ended and off-set what could be off-set there.

But then the Jerry Hughes thing was deemed a separate incident so that was dealt with separately.

Witnessing the KC game and the toss of the flag into the crowd: it was correctly noted by the official that since this was an infraction against an official, it was considered a between down foul. Not the dead ball foul. This is the same as if a team called two TOs back to back.

It wasn't just a dirty hit by Gronk but it was a weasely cowardly hit, well after the play , blind side to the head of a defenseless player. It should have been an immediate ejection. Instead we get more penalties. Of course Hughes mouths off and gets 15 . Why didn't Hughes or any Bill go after Gronk right after that. A douche play like that would never go unpunished in hockey, yet all the Bills D just do nothing??!!!

  3. Depending on your Android version this should be found in the settings menu.

On Android 8 it's settings menu, connected devices, USB

If not, you may find it in developer options. To get that in your settings menu (if you already don't have it) is to go to the Android version and find "build number." Once you find it keep tapping on it until you get an on screen message saying you are now a developer. Then go into developer settings and find USB config. A YouTube video is below.

I think it was a slight deflection by the DB.

BTW, Author's conclusion: Do I believe he should be the starter? No, not yet, but his fourth quarter performance against the Saints really gave you a glimpse into what he can do.

    That's a part of the author's conclusion.

"With the offense in a funk the last two games, the losses piling up and playoff chances diminishing by the week, seeing Peterman play that well with most of the offensive starters still in, really showed me that the gap between he and Taylor may be diminishing."

I know the key words in the last paragraph are "may be," but his conclusion was more than just a plain no. The author added that gap qualifier at the end of his story.

And hence 13 pages on NP vs TT.

Following the college rule would mean that anytime a receiver goes to one knee to catch a low throw he is down right there. If a lineman steps on the QBs foot and he falls the play would be over. There are more instances where a player would be down with out contact. Ya gotta let em play. People already complain the NFL has eliminated a lot of hitting. Do we want to wimp it up even more?

Not trying to make excuses, but this is why he doesn't end up being hit on the play. Since the defenseless receiver rule came into play, the Jets player pulled up and didn't contact O'Leary so he wouldn't get a penalty. Before defenseless receivers, the Jets DB would have made sure he went after the player and ball on the way down. It just worked out that everyone on the field stops and the Jets get a turnover.

  6. as just jack mentioned, try using a hdmi switcher, (not splitter) if you don't have enough inputs. the one i used was great, and would automatically recognize what device you were trying to use, and would bring it up on the tv. the only time i ever had to manually switch the setting was if two devices were running at once, and i wanted to switch between them. even for that there was a little remote. 50 bucks maybe.

I guess a HDMI switcher is the modern version of a receiver (minus the sound system). Do the sound bars really work all that well? (If they do, why don't they have multiple inputs for HDMI, with one back for screen?)

  7. Well that's my issue. I've been pricing new tvs and it's just annoying. I can get 50 or 55 inch 4k TV for anywhere from 700-1000 dollars. While that's a decent price compared to what I paid 3 years ago, they lack in other areas. My 65" has 4 hdmi inputs and 3 usb. Alot of the "cheaper" new 4k tvs have a max of 3 hdmi (sometimes 2) inputs. While I'm willing to go down a little bit in size, I cant live with only 2 hdmi inputs. 3 is tolerable. At the end of the day, I jyst really don't wanna spend that much money again

Are receivers really that outdated now? Why the need to have 3 to 4 HDMIs when you really need one? Oh well I guess I just am old school.

As with everyone else, it sucks that you have to spend more money on a TV after you just bought one three years ago. That sucks.

  8. Great blocks by the lineman. However, what is overlooked by us casual observers is Thompson's block on the DE. The analysis explains that Kaelin Clay had been asked to make this block in the past few weeks and failed. Thompson, on the other hand, makes the block look easy and takes the DE 5 yards into the backfield after Shady goes by.

Thompson has a ton more value than just his connection with Tyrod.
