  1. I see it like this.  Obviously, top three of Coleman, Samuels, Shakir.  Then:

    WR4: X role/field stretcher: MVS vs Claypool

    WR5/ST gunner: Hollins vs. Shorter/Shavers/Cephus/Claypool

WR6?: Speed/Gadget/Return guy (we always seem to keep one of these): Hamler vs. Isabella (Could forego this and keep Claypool instead if he really shows something on special teams and we find a returner among our other players)

In the end, like most others, I think we end up with a room of Coleman, Samuels, Shakir, MVS and Hollins.  If we keep a 6th (instead of just utilizing the PS), I think it's an upside guy like Hamler or Claypool.

I honestly do not see any similarities between Davis and Coleman besides slight height weight similarities

Davis is a bulked up more clunky athlete...

Keon Coleman played division one basketball... Can flush down alley oops smooth ..  he looks like a glider

Was Florida state's primary punt return... Everybody knows you put your best athlete in college at punt returner

So Florida State thought he was the best athlete on the team... He's fluid and smooth... Davis clunky

Davis has a weird catching motion.. keon Coleman has clean hands

I've seen him hurdle people, one hand catch, juke people.. and run by people

Davis didn't even do that at UCF... He's a supreme athlete who is still getting better at football..  which will be a plus for the bills

I like your thinking and I'm starting to come around to the idea that Coleman might eventually turn into a stud.  I don't think it will be right away, but I like his ceiling.  He's fluid and you can just see he's a naturally gifted athlete.

I just mentioned shorter because he’s a 2nd year draft pick like Bernard was.  I’m not a fan of the football player and think that Shavers may take his spot

The only reason anyone should mention Shorter is because he's a mid-round pick in his second season. The comparisons end there.  Watching Shorter's college tape, I just don't see "it" and I can't really understand what the Bills were thinking when they drafted him. Big, slow, can't separate, didn't really produce at the college level, etc.  I got to watch Shavers quite a bit here in San Diego, and I think he's a superior prospect to Shorter and likely snags that spot at the bottom of the WR depth chart.

Unpopular opinion: celebrating the injury of a 1st rounder drafted 28 overall shows nothing but penis envy towards the Chiefs.

We shouldn't care about him. We also shouldn't care that the Bills traded their pick with the Chiefs. If Worthy was incredible in camp or the first couple weeks of the season, sure, be upset. Until then, this is just sad to witness.

Honestly, my initial reaction to this thread was that it was completely pathetic and sad on many levels.

I’m not sure we’re talking enough about if we’re talking enough about how the Bills didn’t do enough at WR

I agree. I'm thinking of starting another thread titled "If They Did Enough: Discussions of the Bills WR Room.". It's kind of a semi-fictitious thread about the threads that have been posted regarding our WR group.

His last two seasons were uprooted by midseason trades where he was dumped into a new offensive system and the years before that he went for 800+ yards back to back.  Don’t think he’s really old enough to just call it quits and likely has to prove he can still play.

idk if he’ll return to form but seeing as there’s essentially zero risk this is a great signing.

I mean, we know he can play when motivated.  He's 25 and doesn't have an injury history.  He should just be hitting his prime now.  The question is whether his attitude is right.  If he's suddenly transformed into a hardworking, team first guy, then this is a great signing.  I don't have much hope, since you don't really see guys just flip their personalities in their mid-20s.  I guess Cris Carter is a guy that turned it around.  Just have to wait and see.

  7. I don't like the player at all.  A tiger doesn't change its stripes, so I fully expect him to show his true self in camp and get kicked to the curb before final cuts.  But, we are in desperation mode at wide receiver, so this is what you get I guess.  We absolutely need one of Hamler, Claypool, Isabella, Shorter or Cephus to pan out and contribute.  I assume Hollins sticks as a special teamer and bottom of the depth chart receiver.

I like Shakir a lot as a potential no. 2/3 and Samuel as a no. 3, and I'm hoping Coleman can slot into the Gabe Davis role, but damn, that is a really weak receiver room.  We are going to really need to utilize Kincaid, Cook and Knox in the passing game.

you don’t have access to medicals or interviews. It’s not so much being wrong as not having all the info.

Correct.  And there's got to be something there beyond just a mediocre combine that is concerning teams.  He's got great advanced stats and proves his skills on the field over multiple seasons.

The more YouTube vids I see of Coleman, the better he is loooking.  I was a little too quick to judge at first.  He is faster and smoother than I remembered.  Still a project guy tho

Yeah, he does pass the eye test.  Not blazing fast, but really good athlete, pretty smooth for his size, goes up and gets the ball in contested catch situations.  There's a lot to like there.  I think he projects as an upgrade on Gabe Davis as the vertical threat in the offense.  Don't see him as the do it all #1 guy.

That's at least good to hear. I thought I read stuff from other people here that they thought he was going to have trouble getting off the line in the NFL.

He's got good release technique that makes up for non-elite burst in the first 10 yards.  His biggest weakness to me is his contested catch ability.  He's a guy that needs to catch it in space.

lol…..now Xavier Worthy is Tyreek Hill 2.0 🤦🏻‍♂️

Some of these takes....just jeez.  Hill is a generational talent and he's got 25 pounds on Worthy.

And in an odd and obviously tragic coincidence, two of the four fastest players committed vehicular manslaughter.

    Yeah.

It was a combination of me liking Worthy a lot and disliking the Chiefs a lot.

So to sit around for three plus hours eagerly awaiting the Bills pick, then to see that the guy I liked was still on the board, then to see that we traded that pick to the Chiefs, then to see them use that pick to take the player I liked....I was pissed.

Emotions sometimes win out over calm-headed logic. I am human.

I STILL don't love handing a 4.21 receiver to a team we historically can't stop in the playoffs, but I'll live.

I'm sure you've seen this, Logic, but if not, here's some more salve for the wound:

I'm just concerned if you move back and NE takes the WR you want.  Or the chargers.  You've moved back twice... get the guy you want because he won't be there at 60, and might not be there at 37.

If there's a guy they love, then sure, they should stay put and grab him.  But if they have McConkey, Mitchell, Franklin, Coleman all sort of ranked similarly on their board, then I think they should move back a bit to increase the value of one of their later 2nd or 3rd rounders.

My concern is good but not great. Someone said it yesterday, but the issue with the Bills is they have one elite player and a lot of good. The quality is not there outside of Josh.

I think Kincaid can be an elite pass catching tight end, probably as early as next year.  Cook is a very good back (though needs to clean up the easy drops).  We need to draft two receivers between the 2nd and 3rd rounds and hope that one of them turns into, at minimum, an 80 catch, 1000 yard guy.

I think they'll try to trade back one more time,  probably to 35 or 36 and try to upgrade another 4th into a 3rd in the process.  I wouldn't move back any further.

I think they take Franklin or McConkey with their first pick.  Pick 60 lines up on safety value in this draft,  so that would be my guess there,  though I could also see another WR or a DT.  Might even trade up or down.

If they don't select two WRs with the first two picks,  I think they will with the 3rd and day three will be defensive depth and maybe an early C prospect.

If you're not going to take DeJean, then this scenario makes the most sense.  I really hope Beane is able to pull off a trade back.  The other option is taking DeJean and trying to move back up in the 2nd round to grab a guy like Franklin or Coleman.  I assume both of those guys will be gone by pick 60.

  16. I love what Beane did yesterday.  Once the top three receivers came off the board and there wasn't an immediate run on the second tier of receivers, I definitely wanted Beane to trade back for additional draft capital in the second and third rounds.  Just taking a look at all of the good players available on the board right now, I wouldn't be against being moving back another few pics to increase the value of our second second round pick. There's a decent chance we walk away with our new starting center and two receivers that can contribute as rookies.
