My son and I are at the football camp this week. Saban yelled at his coaches lol If you've never met him he is an extremely motivated, one main goal, very detailed person.
What position does he play?
Is he working his azz off?

Thread title says it.
I think this is more of a testament to their belief that the AFC East will be mediocre with the Bills and Jets breaking in rookie QBs and Tannehill coming back from a serious knee injury.
Long story short: They don't have the Bills grabbing one of the Wild Cards (Titans and Chiefs) but say they could contend in 2019 when all the dead cap money comes off the books. Defense should be improved and a lot of questions on an offense which will be carried by Shady (as we all know).
Just thought this was interesting when juxtaposed with all the other experts predicting 2-14 records and #1 overall picks.
And like those other experts, are we going to hold Street & Smith accountable if the Bills don't finish at least 2nd in the ACFE?

Great article about Nick Saban.

Mea culpa for what? Prior to last year, how many times was the media right about the Bills being bad?
Yet, just like now, there were Bills fans getting their panties in knot because some person in the media predicted the Bills were going to do poorly.
How many of those fans came back with their mea culpas?
ZERO.

chad kelly will be the starter there next year and for years to come. it will be a fun division to watch in the coming years with him, carr, mahommes and old man rivers all facing each other twice a year.
Mr. Irrevelant now feels he can compete for the backup QB spot, and based on that, you have him becoming a franchise QB by next year??

I am beyond thrilled we did not.

Arm strength was one of the questions in McCarron's pre-draft assessments. Stuff like "does not have a big time arm" "average arm" etc.
I'm still looking for that one video clip for you though - televised game, announcers are droning on about how McCarron doesn't have enough arm to drive the ball downfield - while meanwhile, on the screen behind them, McCarron is doing just that, for a TD. BURN! It's funny as heck.
It's the "if AJ can get some protection" bit that's concerning me (for all of our QB). People tell me it's not as bad as I think....
Ah, yes. One of my favorites:

And people wonder why recruits choose to go play for Bama ...
On 4/29/2018 at 6:25 PM, Bill from NYC said:This National Champion Alabama Team had no less than 12 players drafted, and this does of course not count our 2 (and I don't know how many other) udfas. I'm unsure if this has ever happened before.
IIRC, OSU still holds the NCAA record with 14 players drafted. 12 was the highest by one school this year, and the highest in Bama history.
QuoteI am NOT making a statement that the Crimson Tide will win #18 in 2018. They need to stay healthy, etc. I do however think that the Tide offense will be better this year at every positional group. Maybe a lot better.
ROLL TIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If Tua continues to develop and plays up to his potential, complimented by a Saban D, the SEC will be a Crimson blood bath this year.

Which is what Ralph said....hence the not faulty comparison.
The other poster said his comments indicated he was moving the team; they indicate that he is not moving the team.
Still a faulty comparison. The Toronto series was a failure. It was cancelled.
In case you haven't noticed, the Bills no longer play any games there. There are ZERO NFL games being played there.
I have no doubt if the series was successful, the Bills would have shifted to playing more home games there.
In regards to London, the series has been successful for the NFL.
For the Jaguars, the series has been so successful, the owner bought a stadium to "protect the Jaguars' position in London".
Khan 's comments indicate nothing, other than he is staking a bigger claim in London.
As I said before, he could move the team to London, play 7 home games there, and play 1 home game in Jacksonville.
1 home game a year is still a "stable and promising" future when compared to no games in Jacksonville.

Remember when Ralph moved a game a year to Toronto? Yeah...
Faulty comparison. Bills did horrible in Toronto, and that series was not well received.
That series was cancelled.
31 minutes ago, Mr. WEO said:This is what he said:
"The games the Jaguars play at Wembley are essential to the financial stability of the Jaguars in Jacksonville, which is one of the smallest markets in the NFL. If my ownership interests were to include Wembley Stadium, it would protect the Jaguars' position in London at a time when other NFL teams are understandably becoming more interested in this great city. And the stronger the Jaguars are in London, the more stable and promising the Jaguars’ future will be in Jacksonville."
Interesting statement and a more interesting comment.
He's essentially admitting he has squeezed out as much revenue as he can out of the Jacksonville market, and that he needs another market (London) to support it.
There is nothing in his statement that prevents him from eventually moving the team to London and playing 1 international series game in Jacksonville. His comments would still be true.

Not sure what the bolded has to do with the Glazers, who very much run their sports empire as their father did--including Man U.
Also, what is Khan's stated "agenda" here?
An even better question, what do the Glazers, and how they run their business, have to do with Khan and how he runs his?
The Buccaneers have not played a game in London in 6-7 years?
Meanwhile, the Jaguars are scheduled to play a game in London for a consecutive 6th time in 2018.

So you took 4 years out of his entire career. In the NFL he was 38-28 86 TD 68 INT. In Buffalo he was 21-9 47 TD 30 INT.
Remember when you said this?
"Ya lol he did was win everywhere he went ..."
Doug Flutie went to San Diego. He didn't win.
1 hour ago, PatsFanNH said:lets not forget he played most of his career in the CFL because well teams were dumb back then on smaller QBs. Innthe CFL he won numerous championships. But again, I asked who has buffalo had since Kelly who was better??
What he did in the CFL, and whether or not he was the best QB on the Bills since Kelly, are meaningless, if you are trying to make the case he was a "good" NFL QB.

Well if Reed didn't take that penalty costing the Bills 4 points that final drive the bills could of settled for a game winning chip shot FG instead of needing to score a TD. & BTW most QBs in the league would of cough that football up in that situation. Armstrong went unblocked & put his helmet right between Flute's chest. I am hardly a Doug Flutie fan, but there is no question he was the better QB of the two. I can't believe people even debate this. Your arguments are beyond ridiculous imho.
1. I never said RJ was better than DF. I just find it laughable when people think DF was a "good" QB.
2. There are many "ridiculous" arguments in this thread. The worst? "Shoulda, Coulda, Woulda".
"Shoulda, Coulda, Woulda" arguments rely on the belief if a play, or a series of plays, were changed to a desired outcome, everything else about the game would stay the same.
That's a ridiculous assumption to make. But you wanted to play it, so I played. My "Shoulda, Coulda, Woulda" is just as ridiculous as yours.

No stretching is required for a 5x improvement in performance.
"Flutie just wins where ever he goes".
5-11 record. 8 TDs, 15 picks down the stretch. WINNING!
15 minutes ago, Gordio said:That penalty by Reed would of been a total boneheaded play by a rookie let alone a season veteran. Totally inexcusable to lose your composure at a time like that. Cost the bills what most certainly been the tying TD & had to settle for a FG.
So, the Bills managed to salvage 3 points on that drive from Reeds mistake.
Can you remind me again how many points the Bills were able to salvage after Flutie's 3 drive ending mistakes?
15 minutes ago, Gordio said:It would of been a totally different ball game if Reed would of just went back to the huddle.
Ah, the Coulda, Shoulda, Woulda game.
If only Flutie coughed up the ball 2 times instead of three. Especially that last one. That was not only a difference maker, that was a game killer.

1. WAY TOO EARLY to worry about recruiting rankings.
2. Besides, this is "unpossible". I read on here when Georgia took the #1 ranking this past year, that was a sign that Bama's slide down has begun.
3. Did I mention it was WAY TOO EARLY to worry about recruiting rankings?

Ya lol he did was win everywhere he went, even Buffalo. But he just sucked.. I mean I know he wasn’t the greatest QB but since Kelly can you name one QB for Buffalo that was better? (I’m honestly asking because I as an outsider can’t think of one better. Maybe Bledsoe but he was washed up by the time he got to Buffalo.)
2001 -San Diego. Started all 16 games. Team went 5-2 through the first 7 games, then promptly lost 9 straight to finish 5-11.
That's some kind of winning there.
During that 9 game losing stretch, DF threw 8 TDs and 15 picks, including 0 TD, 3 pick performance against the Raiders.
When questioned about the 3 picks, DF blamed the field conditions for one (WR slipped trying to reach back for a poorly thrown ball), a "lazy" DT on a another (DT played contained and plugged the passing lane. DF hit the DT right in the chest), and actually took responsibility for the third.
During the same 9 game losing stretch, DF did an interview where his poor play came up.
He denied he was playing poorly, and could not believe people actually thought he was.
Why? Because he was third in the public portion of the pro bowl voting

He was hardly the greatest player ever, but we shouldn't be holding him to that standard here given that the subject of this thread is ultimately Rob Johnson. In no world was Johnson better than Flutie.
Never said RJ was better, but this concept that Fultie was somehow "good" is laughable.
