  1. Come on people...KELLY played in a DIFFERENT ERA...the constant reference to how good his stats look in this era by comparing them to a different era is just crazy. In THIS ERA...you know the one we live in every day and Fitz plays in every day, 20 to 25 TD's is nothing significant. Mark Sanchez threw 26 TD's last year...how good is he? He just got benched for a 3rd stringer so they could WIN the game.

So many people cannot grasp this point.

  2. Well written but what we really want is a QB that is physically able to play the position and coach that isn't pass happy. Give me the Chan from the Bill Kower era and now we are talking

Don't forget that the Chan from the Cowher era answered to Cowher and was issued instructions on how to craft his offense

The Chan of today is enjoying no boss year and is having fun doing whatever he wants

  3. Shanahan is on his way to a 10 loss season? Really? Do Bills fans actually watch other NFL teams/games?

Washington has one of the best young QBs in the league, they just won a huge primetime game, they are right in the thick of the playoff hunt and 1 game back of the "world's champions" (to use Chan's term) in the division and the future looks bright as can be for that team. That's all without 2 of their best defensive players who went on IR early in the season.

But yeah, Chan Gailey and Ryan Fitzpatrick are certainly better than Shanahan and RGIII. Yuppers!

Stats do not tell the whole story. Passing numbers are inflated more every year. Last season a few QBs threw for over 5,000 yards, which stood as an almost unreachable mark for almost a generation. The rules favor the pasing game. It seems like you get a pass interference penalty on about 1/3 deep passes. Illegal contact and holding are also rampant.

Fitzpatrick is better than Trent, Losman, Holcomb, Van Pelt, etc. But he is not good enough to win consistently in the NFL. I say that because when it comes to losing about 2/3 of the games he starts, "We've seen him do it!"

Dick Jauron won 21 games in his first 3 seasons here. Chan Gailey has won 15 so far. That does not indicate in any way that he is clearly a better head coach than Jauron was.

Nix has done okay. Dareus is a bit disappointing, but Spiller is great, and Gilmore looks exciting. Chandler and Mario were good pickups. When you look at the biggest "names" on this team, many were already here when Nix got here:

    Fitzpatrick

    Freddy

    Stevie

    Eric Wood

    Levitre

    Kelsay

    Kyle Williams

    Byrd

    Wilson

    McKelvin

In 3 years he should have been able to put more of his own stamp on this team, since we're told how utterly lacking in talent the roster was. That's my favorite argument of all: Dick Jauron was the worst coach in the history of the world (maybe the universe) but he somehow led a team of utter misfits and semi-pro talent to 7 wins in the NFL every year.

  4. Red Zone is the best channel! Time Warner has it now.... they don't just show you when the games are in the Red Zone (like they used to). Now they do extended look-ins when no team is in the RZ.

No commericals, no stoppages, no breaks.... the only problem is that going back to watching just one game is really hard after you've become accustomed to non-stop action

  5. Right...Losing that Game had nothing to do with Fitz sucking... :wallbash:

Some of the blind Man-love for Fitz around here is simply amazing to me...Even when is shrouded with the admission that The Bills need a better QB, the man-love still shines through...This is like living in some kind of alternate universe where despite incredible evidence that can be seen with the naked eye, somehow, someway, if somethings were just different elsewhere on this Team, Fitz would be good enough...I just don't get it...And I'm starting wonder if the Fitz lovers actually watch NFL Football where good QB's make plays and do what they have to to get their Teams to victories...Especially in crunch-time...Or do they just watch Fitz and get blinded by his awesome beard? I don't know...It's mind-boggling to me...

Lastly...If we had a better QB this Team could afford a hell of a lot more mistakes in other areas...And generally it does not work the other way around...It may work for a game or two...But generally if your QB is not good enough, you're Picking in the Top 12...Again...Familiar much? B-)

I agree: Bills fans live in an altenate universe

What is blatantly obvious to everyone else is controversial here: Fitzpatrick is not good enough

  6. nothing happened.... he was never really all that great. And Drew Bledsoe holds the season passing yards record for the Bills, if you meant that. Fitz did not "break Kelly's passing records."

That said, I don't care about stats. Chad Henne dropped 350+ Yards and a few TDs on the Texans last week. Chad freaking Henne. Off the bench for the 1 win Jaguars.. With creepy facial hair (not at all a "Fitzmagic" beard).

The problem is that it has been forever since there was even somewhat competent QB play here and Bills fans have forgotten that in the NFL a 300 YD game with a few TDs is pretty routine. I think we went a couple of seasons without a 300 yard passer, so it's easy to see how people went insane over Fitzpatrick.

Guys throw for a bunch of yards nowadays, it's not like the 1980's anymore. Nobody is better at a 390 yard passing day and a loss than Carson Palmer (who should trademark it) but Fitzpatrick is a poor man's version!

  7. I love watching Peyton play! One of my favorite football players.....

Glad to see him having a nice comeback so far.... Hopefully he can hold up and play 3-4 more seasons and get another ring or two (so long as it doesn't involve him beating the Bills in the playoffs)
