  1. Don't get why anyone would suggest we sign the guy. We have cap room to carry over to next season that this would eat into. We also are out of the playoffs, and would benefit more from seeing what we have with a couple guys who are already under contract. Most of our current guys are UFAs anyway.
  2. Why say that now...? He's clearly listed to start on Sunday. Wouldn't that be kind of a terrible media move? Guy's already got himself in hot water for some dumb comments he made about football in general. I think he's just getting through these interviews while saying as little as possible.
  3. What are you supposed to say? He's just towing the company line.
  4. Straight line speed, and jump cuts aren't as important as first couple of step quickness. McCoy has always had a nice little stutter step that works in this kind of weather, but gillislee's burst was not uitilized like we should have.
  5. Why spend a bunch of money on a crappy QB, when we can just draft a crappy QB? The first 2 picks of the draft look pretty crappy - the Jets are terrible and won't even dress their crappy QB. And now Dak is starting to look like Tyrod.
  6. Practice how you play... if you want to get a feel for how to run routes, and cut in the snow. You should probably practice in the snow.
  7. Bad snap on a chipshot field goal at the end is the only reason they won that game... In fact - if you include the bills game, the cardinals have lost 3 games because they can't kick field goals. Well the original argument was - with Tyrod/Shady and Schwartz defense, we would've made the playoffs. Now its becoming clear that Tyrod is no good, or at the very least no better than orton. Last years 8-8 is worse than this years IMO. We had a cupcake schedule. We lost winnable games to jax, KC, and philly. Win those 3 and we're 11-5 and in a wildcard game. This year we dropped the dolphins and jets. Those 2 we really should have had - those teams aren't that good (or are just straight bad). Those 2 would have put us at 8-5 going into a winnable final 3. Play better in baltimore and ur 9-4. Steal 1 on the road in seattle and you're 10-3... My conclusion - we may have snuck in with marrone/orton/schwartz last year... but i don't think we would've made the playoffs this year regardless. Not sure if this is "defense of rex", or just looking at it realistically. We're not a top 10 team because we drop winnable games. Marrone's team's also dropped plenty of winnable games. Chargers, Texans games were both winnable. He blamed Manuel.
  8. he can bring back rex... or eat the remaining 15 million and spend a bunch more on ANOTHER coach who might not win anything. The team doesn't bring in that many dollars that you can afford to just write off 15 million. Just the players cash out this year is about 158 million. Assuming the cap goes up - that means the shared revenue went up for this year. Each team gets a similar piece of the pie. You give up 38% of your home gate, and keep the rest. Not sure what the %s are for merchandise either. But either way - 5 million annually for 3 years? And then to top that off with another big check to another coach? I get it - he has money. But isn't the purpose of spending upwards of a billion on an NFL franchise is so that i make money annually...?
  9. Know who currently has the best Bills record since Wade Phillips...? Rex Ryan.
  10. Yeah - same with Schwartz. Anyone remember the time Schwartz challenged a fumble... that was returned for a TD? Oh yeah - at the time it was a penalty to challenge a non-reviewable play (all turnovers are reviewed so you can't challenge)... so instead of getting the ball back it was 6 the other way. I think they got a 15 yard penalty too. Dumb rule at the time - but still an absolutely idiotic move on his part.
  11. I don't think its necessarily 4-3 or 3-4. We have some solid 1-gap players, and are playing a 2-gap system. It's too run focused, and struggles to generate pass rushes on 1st and 2nd down.
  12. Worked for some relatively big names... parcells and del rio for one. I'm sure most if not all of these guys have spoken rather highly of him. No one even know's what he makes right now...
  13. Sure the RB coach for the #1 rated rushing offense back to back years. Absolutely no one will have any interest. Guy's worked under Del Rio, Parcells, Crennel, and Rex. Never been out of football, and interviewed for 2 HC jobs this past offseason.
  14. I'm not going, but I'm planning on watching. I want to win. I always want to win. I'm going to Buffalo v Miami the week after, and even if we lose to cleveland I want to win.
  15. I know college is a different breed... but 9 million? To get to coach games at the big house? Huge rivalries? Why would you want to leave to come to buffalo? Is 9 million not enough?
  16. Agreed - he almost had that 3rd down pick. Jumped the route and ben couldn't drop it over him.
  17. The options are limited, and they have a very good defense. He's not the #1 option, but he's a viable backup solution should Lynch look bad. Simien has been fine for them, but they are where they are because of their defense. Siemian is cheap... like really cheap. If there's a trade market for him, and they could plug in TT as the backup they'd have to consider it. I wouldn't see them moving on from Lynch after just 1 year, but they have to make a decision at some point.
  18. I could see Denver or Arizona. Denver doesn't seem like a team willing to wait and see if Lynch can be the guy next year - they'd rather have a solid backup plan. Same goes for Arizona - sub par QB and O-line play is why they are where they are this year.
  19. Belichick collects picks - the new CBA added a rookie wage scale so it's massively cheaper to get solid contributors on their first contracts. The comp picks he gets are further added to that, and he seems to target cap casualties often for players on 3rd deals. He'll extend players he likes a lot - but only at their perceived value to him. Not market value. Hogans value to them is a receiver with enough speed to blow the top off of a defense, but other discernible skills. Like hands and route running. He's also an a passionate, unselfish player, who plays teams without complaining. Sounds like a patriots player to me...
  20. Russ has been here a long time. He was essentially acting as our owner (or in his best interests) for like 10 year prior to Ralph's passing. He then helped facilitate the sale to the Pegulas, and in turn demonstrated to them that he's a valuable component of the organization. IE - it was the coaches, the players, the GMs who were bad... not me. When are people going to get a grip and just realize this guy's a media leak, a know-it-all, and a snake?
  21. Kim is an owner - I think she should have some input. But Brandon? The guy think's hes the smartest guy in the room and knows legit nothing about football.
  22. They only have 8 picks this year - They have played the Kessler/Whitehurst browns, the Goff Rams, the Kaep 49ers, and Houston. They do a good job stopping the run, and have an offense that puts up points (5th in PPG - even including a shutout with their 3rd string qb). They're top 10 - but i wouldn't put them at top 5. PPG isn't the most reliable statistic to me.
