  1. Most of my doubts are related to injuries along the OL and Tre White not coming back like a superstar….

I guess we could be totally wrong about the DL too but I doubt it. I think Beane got the DL right in his second attempt….

Ed is ready and is going to have a big game vs. LA…. Either that, or other DL are going to have a big game. It completely depends on who the rams decide on who to double most plays…. I think both DaQuon and Settle can make the rams pay for doubling Ed. So can Groot, AJ, Boogie and Von…. I think we have a good line.

Plus we have Tremaine Edmunds playing for a contract on national TV…. Watch Tremaine this year!

I guess some posters here will be relieved to see that Jake Kumerow isn't listed as the backup at outside WR behind Diggs and Davis

He's only listed as the backup WR behind Davis 😁

    Surprises to me:

    Moss > Cook as RB2

Bernard listed as the starting SLB ahead of Dodson - I guess the team sees his pre-season performance differently than fans do

Cam Lewis listed as the backup NCB and Siran Neal listed as the backup outside CB 🤷‍♂️

Anyone explain that last to me, I'll be obliged

As far as the LBs go, I thought Giles-Harris was our best in preseason. I liked the cut of his jib.

Not surprised about Elam starting nor am I surprised about Shakir or James Cook.

There are MANY here who believe that McKenzie is not fit to be the starting kick returner. I feel/felt he should be given another shot because his upside is pretty damn high.

I thought Spencer Brown would wait a few weeks behind Quessenberry before being named the starter.

You’re not surprised Zach Moss best-out James Cook, our second round pick?

Wow, when did you realize this?

Just looking at offense and defense ... Cole Beasley, Star Lotoulelai, Daryl Williams, and Emmanuel Sanders never signed with another team and while there was speculation Star and Sanders may be contemplating retirement, neither has as of yet.

That leaves Jerry Hughes starting for the Texans and Levi Wallace fighting for a starting job on the Steelers though there was speculation from Steelers media that Akhello Witherspoon was leading that competition (also referenced here https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/predicting-the-steelers-2-deep-depth-chart-of-the-week-1-defense/ss-AA11pjfF#image=8 )

Our depth players that played significant minutes Harrison Phillips will start in Minnesota and Jon Feliciano will start for the Giants and Mitch Trubisky who didn't play significant minutes thankfully is anticipated to start in Pittsburgh to begin the season. Cody Ford is a backup in Arizona, Efe Obada is 3rd string in Washington, while A.J. Klein and Justin Zimmer never found another team.

For a team that is considered incredibly deep (which I agree they are) I find it surprising that only one of our 6 ex starters are expected to start on another team. Perhaps it is a situation where the collection of the parts elevates the individual. Would be interested in others thoughts on this.

We’re incredibly deep now, not last year. We’re deeper at RB, TE, we have a newer, better, younger, more athletic, more talented DL. We’re deeper at LB and CB…. We’re the same at QB and WR and while we have a better OL, We had better depth last year.

Reggie white - After 8 seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, signs a 4year 17M FA deal with the GB Packets at the age of 32.  He went on to play for six seasons with them including a SuperBowl win and averaging about 10+ sacks per year.

Von Miller is coming to Buffalo almost in a similar fashion and has signed a six year contract.  Do you see Miller having the same impact as Green did to Favre and the Packers on their way to a Lombardi.

    Thoughts ?

Not exactly…. White was still at the very peak of his game and is tied with Bruce Smith as the best DL of all-time….

Von is a hair lower than those guys and is no longer at his peak.

So, not exactly but similar. The move was made to produce the same result; Super Bowl victories.

For the Bills, so much is hanging on the rest of the DL, Tre White’s return, and Elam’s ability to learn and gain confidence….

Reggie White felt like a one man wrecking crew.

All I know is that at this time 6 days from now, this board will either be in "17-0 we going all the way" mode or "9-8 we suck arse” mode. There is no middle ground.

I think the rams are going to come out extremely hard and hit Buffalo with everything they have right from the kickoff. You know they have the latest line posted on their bulletin board about how where the favs. in their building in week one (no respect.)

I think the Bills have to hold on early and then they’ll be OK.

On the other hand, the Bills have been chomping at the bit quite a bit themselves. They are dying to play someone else and the rams have many questionable points on both sides of the ball…. The Rams OL has two new starters, both should be downgrades.

They’ll be playing a newer secondary just like us and they are missing last year’s NT and pass rusher Von Miller.

Bills are 2.5 points favorites on the road against the defending Super Bowl champions.   Josh Allen over / under on passing plus rushing yards is 314.5
The Bills will not be sneaking up on anyone  this year.  How do we all feel about betting on this game?

LOL! I can’t Billieve that we’re the fav? Wtf is that? Vs. The Super Bowl champs? On the f-fen road? Across the whole freakin’ country?

Seems surreal to me…. Still missing Tre and starting a rookie and Dane Jackson? A rookie in his first game on a Thursday night vs. the SB champs? What an outrageous start! Kaiir Elam is going to make a name for himself one way or another. Is Cam going to play?

IDK? They all can’t be active….

    We won’t see a line this crazy all year I don’t think….

I like the Bills +2.5….but minus?

is Allen going to go 5 TDs - no Ints?

    We’ll see Thursday night….

    Go Bills!

As a player? I’ll be happy if Davis can pull some heavy coverage his way…this is Davis’ first year as a #2…

I hope he Gabe tears it up, but being a #1 is very different.

Every year there seems to be one or two unexpected upsets on the first week of the season. I’m picking the Texans over the Colts. What’s yours?

I don’t have any big ones or any sure ones… I like the colts to cover…. Pittsburgh plus the points but Ithink Cincy wins.

Miami, Carolina, Las Vegas are small dogs I think could win…. That’s all I got.

I wouldn't be surprised if Gabe out-performs Diggs this season and that's not a knock on Stefon.

No…not at all… Diggs is going to draw the heavy coverage and #1 corner and on most teams the #1 is way better than the #2….

Just a world of difference. Hopefully, Gabe is so good, he draws attention away from Stefon and you know our OC is just waiting for that to happen.

But I see a lot of targets to: McKenzie, Crowder and Shakir. I just don’t know when they are going to draw it up for Shakir but I see zero problems going to him judging by preseason. The kid, Khalil, is a stud, write it down… I won’t be surprised either way though in week one. I could see him catch five balls, I could see him inactive.

Anyone try to come up with an inactive list yet?

Shakir? (Third at slot WR on the depth chart. I think he really is the top backup to both Davis and Diggs (or will be.)

Cook or Moss? (It is Moss that is 2nd on the depth chart.)

    Shaq? He should be inactive….

Cam Lewis? I could see him get the start or be inactive, IDK?

It is going to be a very tough inactive list. It is going to be very tough on the inactive, who stand a good chance of being better than the starter…

Honestly, I don’t our offense fits that triplets category…. We’re more like JA and his weapons…imho…

But this year I expect Singletary to be a real stud for us. I think he’s fully adjusted to this league now and knows how to win.

I don’t find Buck/Aikman annoying as much as Aikman is just flat out boring with zero personality.

    Are you kidding me?

Aikman: “When I was with the cowboys….” And that’s it. That’s all he can offer and it is ANNOYING….

    I went with 12-5

1 loss within the division (not the Jets lol)

1 loss to a random team that Bills are favored against (NFC North opponent?)

3 losses against playoff caliber teams (looking like 6-7 such games on schedule - decided to split 'em)

We’re favored vs. the SB champs on the road, we’ll be favored each week I Billieve….

    20 - 0…..

Hoping to see more from him.  Wondering if he's the kind of guy who needs touches to get into a rhythm.

I think the Bills did hide the way they are going to play him a little bit.
I hope he isn’t the kind of back that needs reps to get going. WRs play when they get a target, or a chance, we need our backs to ready for anything and to relish blocking (along with our WRs.)

Everyone blocks well, the offense should be fine.

He averaged 4.6 ypc and 870 rushing yards last year.  He had 7 games last year with single digit attempts.  He was splitting reps with Moss early on and we had terrible run blocking ahead of him….he started getting

the lions share in the last 4-5 games.

I think this year he does it.  He will get the majority share of the carries and I don’t see our run blocking being as bad this year.

While I think that he is ready and good enough to do it, I don’t think the carries are there. Especially if the Bills figure out a way to keep three backs active on game days. Exactly like what they did in the preseason. Gave the red-zone carries to Moss. If they do that, no way Devin makes it.

I'm a little worried.  Both Safety's are banged up and are not that young.  We have White out for who knows how long.  He might come back less than 100%.    We might be starting a rookie CB on one side.  The other CB doesn't have a lot of experience.  Just in our division, we make fun of Tua here a lot, but Waddle, Gisecki, and Hill are no jokes.   How will we defend Kupp?  Nervous.

Maybe the first few games things might get squirrely…but our coaches will be sure to give them what they can do…

This is, unequivocally, a Super Bowl roster and the secondary is going to be a huge strength of this team once they settle in…

Let me preface this by saying I love Stefon Diggs.  This is not an advocation to move on from him.  But my question stems from the fact that 2 other teams (GB and KC) with an Ellie QB have moved on from there true #1 WR’s.  If this season plays out well for them will this be a trend?

IDK, but I for one, feel both GB and KC will pay for dumping their stars when they meet up with great teams. For KC, that is going to be about every week. Look at their schedule, talk about tough…. No way they win the division in my opinion but I do think they’ll be a dangerous wild card….. GB will probably win home field again with their super easy schedule, but won’t make it to the show yet again. If they somehow do make it, the AFC will trounce them.
