The discussion about "who did we miss the most" and "who do we need back the most" is actually very interesting, because if you look at practically EVERY reason the Dolphins won  (besides the Bills missing every opportunity of their own)  it involves the BACKUPS.

    • Center mis-handling exchanges leading to 10 points
    • Backup DBs giving up bomb to Waddle on 3rd and 22 leading to 7 points
    • Lack of a pass rush for the first time all season
    • Unable to defend run at goal line

It's pretty clear that "next man up" seems to work when you are missing one or two pieces, but when you're missing as many as we were, it's a recipe for disaster and Allen WILL have to put the team on his back every single time with very little margin for error.

We lost because we bogged-down in the redzone far too often.  I think not having Morse definitely contributed to that…

It also could be true that Gabe was not right….

I also wonder why Knox has not been targeted more? Is he protecting Brown all the time?

Yeah, tired guys make mistakes and get hurt trying to recover from them.

Although I wouldn't be surprised if there was an element of overtraining for some of them.

I don’t think so….the Bills have led the league with the least amount of injuries since McD took over and I don’t think we did anything new this offseason.

Mostly….bad luck, it has happened to us now…hopefully we can bounce back from this…. Gotta take a close look at the injury report and find out who can come back and who cannot….. I think the Bills lost Micah Hyde - A huge loss of a big team leader…..

and Tom Doyle. A loss definitely but it is unknown how big of one as far as I know….

Who else? Hopefully all the rest can slowly make their way back but these next few games are a real gut check missing a lot of talent.
We need Gabe Davis and Dawson Knox to produce some offense. We need to greatly improve our redzone O from a week ago….

I don’t know who plays three-tech for us this week or who plays CB…. We’ll havta see…

Meanwhile, I hope Tre White is feeling stronger every single day….

It’s Poyer, Johnson, Hamlin, and Cam Lewis.

Johnson, Hamlin, and Lewis have been in this system awhile so I see them giving their guys a shot first before considering a different move

I’ve watched JJ Jaquon Johnson for a few years now and I have full confidence in him.

I think he has elite anticipation.

Damar Hamlin has been here two years and I’m not so sure about him. Both are lessor athletes to Poyer and Hyde, but I don’t think it will really matter that much….we’re talking split seconds here…

Yeah so basically the same crew that hung 41 on the Titans plus Davis

Should point out that the fish probably have a better defense at this time though I don’t think it is going to matter….

As far as our defense goes Brandon Bryant and CJ Brewer are pretty good and hopefully that’s the last injury to the secondary for now….

Diggs on the offense until it's proven someone can stop him.

This might be a game where Von takes 70% of the snaps.  I have to go with him on the D.

Diggs and Von.  Keep it simple stupid!

I love your picks but I don’t want to copy them so…..

I really think David might have a more impactful game anyhow…

    So Davis on O and….

I’m going with my man, JJ JaQuon Johnson who has elite anticipation and is a ballhawk.

I predict he will make a pick six. He is that good.

    Go Bills!

  6. Just about everybody is going to look bad going against Jeffery Simmons. Saffold is a plug and play guard. Just not against the NFL’s elite of the elite like Simmons. The game plan was sound, Simmons did not really effect the game.

Last week, Bates got destroyed vs. AD. What are you gonna do? Donald didn’t really effect the game either…

    Go Bills!

I may regret it down the road but I’m ready for the Jets and Patriots to lose this weekend.  Do not want those teams to get any traction.  Bengals are 0-2 and the Ravens and Bengals will likely pick each other off.

    Am I wrong?

I don’t know. I would like to see the jests not pick in the top five for once…. A few Ws might do that…

Am I tempting fate? Maybe it’s best to see the jests coach get fired and seee them start over?

Before you immediately jump to answer "NO", realize that this question does not mean that you don't like winning.

I enjoy the Bills recent success and I root for a championship trophy. I have a man crush on Josh Allen that my colleagues find odd. That being said, part of me misses the drama of Flutie v Johnson, Bledsoe v Losman, the Fitzpatrick upward trajectory followed by the downward trajectory, top 10 pick draft talk, checking the playoff tiebreakers to find a 1 in 1,000 chance of making the tournament, etc. I wonder if the large swings in outcomes of the past created a dopamine response in my brain.

Does anyone else feel this way? Or perhaps I am in a party of one?

I don’t even miss drafting higher because now we draft better than before drafting much later and Beane like to keep picks and use them. So the draft is even more exciting! We nailed the sixth round this year!

Jags Texans and Browns next three games

As opposed to the chefs ridiculous schedule…the next three games are Colts, Bucs and Raiders….

KC has two easy matchups, that’d it…. The Bills, in week six and the chefs next three games the Bills, then the 49ers and titans, LOL,  gotta give the chefs a big, fat L even though it’s in KC (so expect a flag when the Bills get a turnover). But what a nutty schedule for the chefs….The freakin’ chargers had them. And they had them w/o their best WR in Keenan Allen.  That injured SD TE should have called a TO…what a huge play….hindsight is a wonderful thing….

Well if SD won I’d be just as worried about SD. Probably the better team. I personally think Mahomes is better than Herbert but SD is better than KC, especially if Allen plays.

And I think Buffalo has the best team, especially if Tre White plays…Tre makes a huge difference. We can play any type of D we want back there with him in the lineup….

I do hope we get Khalil Shakir some playing time this week, as crazy as it seems, I think he is a key Bill that needs experience pronto. Once Khalil is resting both Diggs and Davis we are a better team. Baby steps….

I still think both ints. Were ints. we can live sort of with. Isaiah has to catch that ball and Crowder has to come back for it and be the hungrier person going for that ball. Or, at least play a CB role….. Our slot guys have to be better. I can’t wait until Shakir gets a chance to be one of the three outside WRs….

Neither of the interceptions were bad throws imho….IDK, maybe Josh needs to throw to more open WRs? Both throws were in very tight coverage…. Josh still getting used to throwing to new slot WRs?

Let’s go full Homer mode for a second just for fun…given the Bills Hx and what they have had to endure, what if we become rewarded with an undefeated super bowl champion hands down best team ever assembled, top of the record books kinda team, yes yes? Who’s with me!!!!!!….. It…can…happen. Homer mode off.

I’m with ya, and I don’t think it’s funny. Why not?

    We have…..everything.

We must keep the following players healthy….in this order….Allen, Dawkins, Diggs, Davis, Knox…. While Von is very important at least we have suitable backups for him….

  12. Me. But I will be with mostly ram fans….

It’s gonna be a great game either way!

Win or lose even…. When you think about this game probably has little meaning to either team….

    I’ll take the win though….  : )

    Such a close contest…. Really.

Josh > Stafford to be sure but we don’t have AD….plus we have two young spots… Spencer Brown and Kaiir Elam plus a not that strong spot in Dane Jackson.

I hope our young DEs swarm the LOS….along with Von….

And Josh Allen plays like last year…

    I expect a lot from Devin Singletary….watch.

    Go Bills!

  13. I’m going to go to my first Bills road game in my life. It’s the Super Bowl winning Rams on Thursday night and they are going to hoist the banners. There will be famous people dotted within the audience and Black Sabbath (LOL)  is playing at half time….

Also my first game that I see Josh Allen live!  I’m pumped! I’m so pumped I’m exhausted. Like I’m too excited. Glad I don’t have to play and I hope the Bills aren’t too pumped… I hope they don’t get too tired while the banners are hoisted. I’m also a huge admirer of Sofi stadium. I hope we can get there real early and check it out from an architectural point of view… I’m going with two architects to aid in my scenic tour.  I’ll probably spend about $1000 ticket, beer, hotel, lunch, dinner and then breakfast…. I can’t afford to do that very much that is fer sure…

I think it’s going to be too hot to wear a jersey….

Its definitely going to be a dogfight. I find it highly improbable that either team can win easy. The rams are just too good. We have are trouble spots (imho) with Spencer Brown starting after not really training too much this offseason (and I was really psyched that he’d train like crazy this offseason) and then Dane Jackson gets a start and he is paired with rookies going to split time. My guess is Elam excels at man and Benford at zone but talk about nerves being a rookie CB’s first game! National TV millions of viewers scrutinizing every move. Going against Cooper Kupp? Anyway, huge game for all three of our corners. I have some faith that Hyde and Poyer can ease their fears….TJ too… I honestly think if the Bills win it will be by a hair. Though once Tre White returns to form and our young corners get some very valuable experience our secondary will be awesome. Maybe the best the NFL has to offer. Once that happens, we will be nearly unbeatable, imho…

Bills win scoring a TD to Khalil Shakir with seven seconds left winning by two….

  14. Bills 34, rams 27…..

Our defense is too new to really lay a lick on the rams. It is going to be knockout fight. I am betting on Allen over Stafford.

These two teams are great and tied as close as you could possibly expect.

QB - the Bills hands down. Our biggest advantage and the biggest disparity in the game.

OL - the Bills by a hair. Saffold is a huge upgrade for us and Kromer has us ready, the rams starting two new OL….

WR - The rams by a hair. Call it the Kupp factor.

TE - Knox by a nose.

RB - the Rams by a hair. It’s really close though. Devin is ready for this game. Watch. Cam is a good back. Both have depth.

DL - the rams by a hair. Call it the AD effect.

LB - The rams by a hair. Call it the B. Wagner effect.

Secondary - Tie. The Bills still have TJ, Hyde and Poyer and the corners will be good, watch. The rams are replacing two in the secondary.

STs - Another tie. It’s that close.

MVPs aside from Josh, Devin and Gabe. An attaboy to Kaiir Elam who looks marvelous…gets an int.
