  1. Whether or not their stats could have been better against some garbage team don't mean sh--. They will beat Cincy if they come out an execute on both sides of the ball. Simple as that.

Stats show how often teams execute in scoring situations (Red zone offense) & how they could excel even more is a sign of strength that will translate on the field to a greater point yield. Please review the stats link above to see the Bills had plenty of opportunity to pour it on.

  2. The Bills could of kept their foot on the gas & almost assuredly scored several more TD's to pad the stats, if they so chosed. If we did that & the other games played out the same way, our stats would be even greater / more impressive.

The reason I am mentioning this now is because it was said that we have a top offense to match Cincy defense but I beg to differ that we could of easily added more points / stats to make ourselves look better against KC / in total but chosed not too. Cincy couldn't of improved their defense anymore & played to their full potential in all of their games. What this really means that if you're using the stat theory (which I always do), that Buffalo could of pulled farther away in offensive stats, didn't do it & yet still leads the league in total points (113) scored. We could easily have 127-130 points scored as of today, which would be far more than the rest than just a few scores we lead by now.

Weigh that all in when choosing who wins the game this Sunday, Chan had mercy instead of padding the stats (Like TOm Brady / Bill B always do). So mathematically, we are a far better team on offense than Cincy is on defending, sans the quality of opponents played as well.

  3. Went over to the bengals board and they don't seem to have much faith in their offense. http://boards.bengals.com/showthread.php?t=87220 That being said, I believe that Cincy will give us a lot of different looks on D and try to slow us down by running the ball. Gonna a close battle. 13-17 bills

I cannot see how after going over the Bengals roster that anyone could choose them. First of all, Cincy is incapable of scoring more than 20 points against us. I don't even think 17 is possible but for the sake of argument let's say they beat their average (19 points) 25% & score 24. What talent do they have past the Raiders guys who are all huge & talented ? Would you bet against the Raiders versus Cincy??

Thinking the Bills will get half as many points as they have against a team that has played literally no one with offensive talent is naive. I can see the Bills having problems with Philly knowing the amount of talent they have or NE with Tom Brady / Dallas with their pride but not Cincy. Turn off the self defense mechanisms, the Bills win this going away.

  4. Every score gets reviewed & if they needed to call down during the Raiders game for an INT, they should have everyone wait including the fans to make the announcement that the winning kick against NE was good. There was a chance that it went below the goal post or missed to one side, so when was the call?? Did it happen minutes after or hours after?? Can the NFL change outcomes of the game after everyone goes home??

I want consistent in game calls however obvious or unobvious that confirms every score with the refs waiting to make the announcement, just to be official. Can't have a rule without it being consistent can we?

  5. I'm really liking Nix's winning attitude:

    “Talk

is cheap, we all know that. It’s like I’ve always said, don’t tell me

    about the labor pains,

just show me the baby. That’s what we’ve got to do. We’ve got to show

    you the baby, and the

baby is winning,” Nix said Wednesday, according to the Buffalo News.

  6. One thing Im tired of hearing around topic boards is how Fitzpatrick will be a great mentor for our Quarterback of the future, or about how He is the present solution until we get a younger QB. Guys Fitzpatrick is only 27 years old and is in his 7th year in the league. to put things into retrospect I made a list of QBs around the league that are near Fitzpatrick's Age/Experience:

    Name......... Age.... experience

    Fitzpatrick 27 7

    E. Manning 30 8

    Rothlesburger 29 8

    M. Ryan 26 4

    J. Campbell 29 7

    M. Cassel 29 7

    V. Young 28 6

    C. Mccoy 26 2

    M. Leinart 28 6

So the truth of the matter is, that Ryan Fitzpatrick is just 2 years older than a second year player in Colt McCoy and one year younger than Vince Young. My point in this post is that Fitzpatrick has the potential to still leave his mark on this league and fans shouldn't count out Fitz as a very credible option for this teams Future at the Quarterback position. Anyone have a different point to bring up on this subject?

I like the depth in this post & the organization, welcome aboard.

  7. Cleveland Browns vs IND/MIA - 292 ypg, 88 rypg, 2.5 TDpg

Cleveland Browns vs Bengals - 285 yds, 83 ryds, 1 TD

    Denver Broncos vs OAK/TEN - 271 ypg, 49 rypg, 2 TDpg

Denver Broncos vs Bengals - 318 yds, 131 ryds, 2 TD

    San Fransisco 49ers vs SEA/DAL - 208 ypg, 80 rypg, 2 TDpg

    San Fransisco 49ers vs Bengals - 226 yds, 50 ryds, 1 TD

OP may be on to something...

It's dead to right obvious that the teams Cincy played suck on offense, so this concern that defense is so great is not warranted. It's not that Cincy doesn't have a good defense, it's more to the effect that everyone they have played can't score anyways. The Bills have played prolific on offense & the 3 teams we have done it against all had at least brushed or been in the playoffs recently. The 3 teams that Cincy played have all brushed or been near the top of the draft, a completely different caliber of opponent.

Our caliber of opponents have been much better & will be much better during the year than most teams, which makes our current level of success all that much more impressive.

  8. Good column there, thanks for posting!

You're welcome, can you believe the WSJ is writing cool sports stories at all, much less about the Buffalo Bills everyday? They really never do this & I've been reading this paper for years. They are capturing new readers by doing this & bringing people who never read the Journal into the fold, which is great for them.
