  1. Talking about any business events from the late 80's is way out of whack. First off, $50 Million in guarantees for one player was not a reality back then neither was $145 M in per team television revenues. The numbers are much greater as well as the rewards, with stadium revenues becoming a much smaller part of the picture as time goes on. The Cowboys charge the most for everything already, including stadium rights, so they'll likely be out in front if there is no cap. It can really skew the league & eliminate parity, which is what makes the NFL so great.
  2. The Sabres had more points collected after the all-star than any other team. So assuming the Flyers have anymore chance of winning than the Sabres is well unfounded, that was fairly obvious last night.
  3. If the Jerry Jones' of the world have their way, there will not be a salary cap & they can acquire all the best players. Would a situation like MLB baseball turn the Bills & all the small market teams into basement dwellers every season ? I also think that this would eventually devalue the Bills & force Ralph to sell during the amazing upside he has now. Knowing that you can't afford to pay to compete basically means that there is no more free lunches. The Bills will actually have to charge higher prices / rename the stadium in an attempt to collect more / stay competitive. I can see how this would make Ralph concede that he is out of his league, don't you think??
  4. A shift in course just means you changed directions, not arrived at your destination. At least I can see the Sabres heading the right way, that's a plus.
  5. I could of swore my acid wore off.
  6. I just see it as the more picks we have in the first few rounds, the more likely we are to hit a winner. I have zero trust in the 1st round draft decision makers based on the past so many years, it's like one mistake after another. We have found later round talent but it's been few & far between. Starting mediocre players you got out of the draft & losing seems like a pattern we can't shake, time to add more cards to the deck.
  7. Travis Henry's children make a suprise appearance to individually announce the first 9 picks of the 2011 draft, with the 10th one done by his twins. Willis McGahee walks in the hall Naked for PETA again. Marshawn Lynch will be "parking cars" around the area all night long. Scheduled to be a draft supporter for the Buffalo Bills, CJ Spiller is notably absent during the entire campaign.
  8. Using your logic, wouldn't you be better off taking the very best looking defensive player with so many to choose from versus one of few QB projects??
  9. I'm not disagreeing with you here but the depth on defense this year is real juicy into the second round, we need help & it's not coming by Free agency. I hope they just do what's best for the team, that's all we can hope for as a whole.
  10. The guy cries if his Satchel gets scratched, so this is par for his Audi male course.
  11. I think your expectations & where we end up may not meet, which is the same story for 31 teams a year.
  12. I can't say I mind this scenario but the trade back to the 5th for an extra 2nd / 4th & then step back to the Cowboys pick for another 2nd / 4th might not be a bad idea. 3 2nd rounders with most of them coming early in the 2nd raises our chances of finding a "impact player".
  13. That Philly trade would give us 2 #2 QB's, might as well bring back Saddam to back them up as well.
  14. I can totally see it working out like this & liking it.
  15. I can see the Bills dropping back into the 8-12 range to pick up an additional 2 & maybe a 4th but would you mind if they took another trade back to later in the first while picking up an additional 2nd?? This would basically give us pick 22-28, we can then pick early second round (QB Colin Kaepernick hopefully) with our own second rounder & have the 42-44 pick / 54-60 pick. I can't see how we can't improve our defense with this many early picks in this deep a draft & this is a good year to have 4 picks in the first 60. Please pull it apart with logic, thanks.
  16. I'm of a mindset that the Bills want offense, so this will not work.
  17. It looks safe that Newton is a top 3 pick, the rest is up for debate. Sam Bradford looks to be the last first pick that hits a guaranteed money homerun being picked first.
  18. So the draft is signed off as illegal by the players, yet you just can't show up to a NFL team to play because of a rule ? How are they supposed to get players legally, osmosis ? The players are playing legal games which they might not like the final results, a lawyer bred initiative. I find it funny to try to see people the only way they know how things work, versus what could be. Expand yourself to a bigger place, take the key to the universe.
  19. Ironically: It’s hard to imagine life without the NFL Draft. But it’s a serious one that has received surprisingly little media attention. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/04/05/pondering-a-future-without-the-nfl-draft/
  20. NBA Basketball system is more like the NFL versus baseball where there is grapefruit / Triple A / Double A ball to be played. NBA holds a draft & the top picks are expected to perform right out of the box to a point, unlike the NFL which still takes years to season them with a few expections depending on the position. I also see that certain college players that have been left out of the draft can hook onto any team that is willing to pick them up, which at least gives them a chance to play. Jason Peters is a prime example of what is all that's wrong in Buffalo. We build up a found talent, make him a probowler & refuse to pay him market for his talents when needed. That type of behavior by the owner seems like someone who is looking to just get by versus winning it all, make as much hay as possible without paying for the straw mentality. So if the owners are allowed to make a massive profit, what stops players from eventually improving their pay when needed as per their circumstances?? I'm sorry to those who don't like my simple writing style, nor my entirely grammatically incorrect writing. I just think that getting points across quickly that make you think is more important than if I capatilize and put periods / commas in all the time.
  21. So what's your saying is that if a normal person wants to apply for a NFL position they cannot ?? You have to go through the supplemental draft or straight draft ?? This is america & if you want to apply for a position, you simply should be able to. The union decertified & claimed the draft is illegal, they need to get all the legal ramifications put in front of them. I pose a obvious scenario that can happen.
