I believe WR is a need ....it takes soo many pieces to make a really good defense...many of switch you can address in free agency or in later rounds...... but offense is no more than one play-maker away
I agree.... just think the overall talent of Floyd is outstanding...not his charecter is something different.....but the lack of talent at WR was scarey for us, however when we switched to the 4-3 the defense looked better, and don't forget we didn't have Williams for most of the seasons...and we had 2 DE's playing outside lb ...
Thank you
I just think Floyd is a rare talent...even more so than Blackmon, DE is very dept this draft, outside LB deep....Big, Strong, Fast WR's there's only 2 in this draft...not including Hill
A player like. Micheal Floyd?
He just might end up being the Best WR in this draft....
He gives us the big deep threat, and if we bring Stevie back you can move him around more....
Then go defense in the 2nd rd or be agreesive during FA time
Just saw Jerry Rice on Nfl32 ...As a sports analyst I lost respect for him
When asked who is highest risk free agent at wr he said its Stevie johnson....because of the bonehead plays ....fair enough .....
Then asked who has the most value at wr he said Deshawn Jacksom...and I think he has over come his immaturity..... not fair
Oops...just did...
Anyway later in the draft...id like to see use go for another TE...I'm a big fan of Jake Stoneburner....he has range...can stretch the field...sure hands....would have had a much better year if the buckeyes could have settled on a qb earlier in the year....
Someone said its about money for Stevie....its ALWAYS ABOUT MONEY!...
They problem is we have an Old Coach and a Old GM...with old mind sets.....you lock young good players in early....you can't let them be swayed by warmer cities..... that's why the Steelers keep their players....the Pats....you keep building with good young...then eventually it clicks....you can't do it through FA's when nobody wants to be in the city because it has little to offer and they see that you don't take care of the good players you have....we have let a lot of good players go over and over....its fine to replace them but imagine if we just kept them (granted some wanted more than there worth)
If we lose Johnson that means we are not serious about winning and signing Fitz was pointless
Only their second year together....and chemistry doesn't mean mistakes won't happen.....they both were on their way to record seasons until injuries hit....injuries were thr turning point in the season
Its crazy to want to get rid of a wr that has great chemistry with a qb...to bring in another wr to replace the wr you lost...and hope they can emake a similar or bigger impact
This is why we can attract big time FA ..... when you don't even take care of your best players...other players don't want to play for your franchise......
