1. Just been wondering if the Bills will keep the pick and pay a big salary or move out and trade down and take on a lesser deal>

I could definitely see that happening. If he is going to own the Bills 1-2 more years, why pay out $$$ now. Let the next owner pay

And to prove all this, look how we've done nothing this off-season with lots of cap room

  2. Makes me wonder how many people or ticket agencies, actually buy season tickets in high cost venues (New England) and then sell them on Ebay?  It could work, plus you'd turn a profit.

You're right about that. I considered selling my Denver Saturday night game tickets last year of my seasons. Now my seats aren't spectacular, but similar seats on ebay were going for 3x the face value. I thought that could be a good down payment on this season's tickets

Somehow this administration and their procedures sure seem different from the last administration. The image of this organization was in serious trouble. I do believe that this is one of many big steps in the right direction. Look at the dissension and turmoil that we endured last year. You don't think that Marv and his staff aren't having a big effect on this organization? I do believe that the ramifications are immeasurable and the best is yet to come.

Here's another link on someone I wonder if Marv would have liked to have hanged onto.

So what? Lets talk results. I don't see anything but a bunch of bodies. Tripplett is OK

Player, Pos. 2005 Team Designation Contract Length

Matt Bowen, S Washington Other* Undisclosed

Andre' Davis, WR New England Unrestricted Undisclosed

Melvin Fowler, C Minnesota Unrestricted Undisclosed

Craig Nall, QB Green Bay Unrestricted 3 years

Robert Royal, TE Washington Unrestricted 5 years

Larry Tripplett, DT Indianapolis Unrestricted Undisclosed

  4. Could the fact that Marv jettisoned old veterans be seen as an indication that they are actually thinking of the long term health of the Bills? These moves are a good thing to one who wants the Bills to build a strong, young nucleus.

The big problem I have with this logic, building for tomorrow, I'm PAYING today for season tickets. I want to see some commitment to winning. All I see is vets cut, Moulds going, maybe JP, what's left??? 1-3 wins next year could be a real possibility because there is no new talent coming in.

Before everyone puts RW on a pedestal, talk to fans that go back into the 70's and 80's. Ralph IS cheap, and in those years we consistently lost unless some fluke of events led us to some momentary success. He would not spend for winning then. Now in the late 80's and early-mid 90's, perhaps RW's mindset was that he has made a ton of $$$ in my lifetime, and I'm willing to spend now for a winner. Today, with the new higher cap in place, Ralph is cheaping out, and saving money for his heirs, and Marv is helping him execute it

  5. It won't happen until after Jauron and Levy have failed and either resign, get fired (or pass away given their age).  They will have to be replaced by a new regime, hopefully more competent, and will need time to rebuild.  I'll say the Levy era lasts six years, then the new regime, assuming competency, will need three years.  So 2015.

This is, by far, the most realistic prediction as well.

Well I disagree with this guy. But only a little because he sums it up really well. More like 2011. Marv fired/quits/dies after 3 years. The next guy turns it around in 3 years

  6. Don't hold your breath for the afternoon either....You'll get to hear Schopp talk about a sweater he got for Christmas 7 years ago and how Bulldog thinks that Cats are overrated

    635950

I never listen to the Bulldog and his incredibly irritating voice and style when I'm on the Skyway, otherwise I may be tempted to make a hard right turn

  7. Some days are bad and I think you might have caught them on an off-day. If there isn't lots of Bills news or a Sabres game to talk about...well.......there isn't much to talk about. Seriously, the spring usually sucks for sports-talk in Buffalo.

    636015

Geez, the Sabres just came off a big game this weekend, and are in the hunt for top spot in the East. There should be a lot of hockey to talk about. There's another big Sabre game tonight. Yet GR doesn't give the Sabres enough talk time, and they even carry the games. Few fans seem to call about the Sabres either.

  8. How about if you give up 3.5% of your money, and do not complain about it.  everything is relative.  I know I wouldn't be happy about it

    623373

In this economy, there are a lot of people, myself included, who gave up a lot more than 3.5%. And we don't make or are worth the $$$$$$$$$$$$ Ralph has

  9. It seems as though the Dolphins have been showing interest in EVERY free-agent out there.  Same Adams, Josh Reed, all of the QB's etc etc.  Must have more cap space than we thought.

    621165

Exactly. They're like at 95 mil, and they're looking a Bentey, Adams, Mawae, Culpepper if he's released and Brees. Geez, we are well below where they are, we better be doing a lot in FA

  10. Until there are some tax breaks in NY State, the Buffalo and Erie County area will continue to suffer from job losses.  Employers simply don't want to pay what it costs to do business there.  It's a crying shame, but the truth nonetheless.

From WGRZ's site today, this can't help building a stadium:

Buffalo Tops List of Cash Strapped Cities

State Comptroller Alan Hevesi analyzed 61 cities outside of New York City and found that Buffalo was the most fiscally stressed metropolis.

    Buffalo stress

  11. Well, if that happens, after a number of 4-12 seasons, I'd think that the team would end up moving. Sell-outs would fall off. Televised home games would become oddities. I can't imagine any justification for a new stadium. :D

    614893

That's much more likely that what I posted

So long as we are a winner, and my ticket prices & taxes don't increase, I'm OK with it. But don't count on it
