  1. "I challenge you to find me an Official NFL Stat that assigns wins and losses to QBs" Not official - but plenty of people care about it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Most_wins_by_...arterback_(NFL) Anyway, I don't know much about Jauron but Vick is probably better playing prison football games than Edwards will ever be as the Bills' starter at QB. I didn't mention the 49ers because Martz likes a drop-back passer.
  2. Wins by a QB are an NFL stat, just like in baseball for pitchers - look it up. Vick certainly has (had?) flaws as a person and an NFL quarterback, but he could be a good fit on certain teams even after 3 years of not playing - Baltimore, St. Louis, Oakland, Minnesota, and yes - Buffalo - come to mind.
  3. "The Niners are a bad team without a good QB. They simply aren't going to win in Buffalo in cold weather." The Niners might be a bad team, but they're better than Detroit, STL, KC, Oakland, Houston and Cincy, at least. There is talent on defense with 2007 Defensive Rookie of the Year LB Patrick Willis....and the return of CB Nate Clements vs. turnover-prone QB Trent Edwards is an interesting storyline. The 49ers' QB, Shaun Hill, has a 92 passer rating in three games played. Hill shouldn't be bothered by cold weather - he played at the U. of Maryland and grew up in Kansas.
  4. I cannot understand how anyone can say that Michael Vick sucks. He rushed for 1,000 yards as a QB. He wins games and has an impressive winning record as a starter. He beat Brett Favre at Lambeau Field in the playoffs.
  5. Uhh, my team hasn't had a winning record since '02 They were 2-14 in '04. SF had DENNIS ERICKSON as head coach for two years. ('03-'04)
  6. If I was going to point to one play, or put the blame on one player on the Bills, it would be #27 CB Reggie Corner. On the replays I've seen Quinn completing a 16-yard, 2nd-and-10 pass to Winslow with 2:09 left for a first down and into Dawson's FG range. The next three plays were incomplete passes and Dawson kicked the winning 56-yarder. On the pass to Winslow, Corner came untouched on a blitz and had a free shot on Quinn's blind side. He either tripped or stumbled but he made a pathetic diving attempt at Quinn's ankles that did nothing to alter Quinn's throw. The play should have resulted in a sack at the very least, pushing the Browns back well out of Dawson's range and a tough 3rd-and-20.
  7. Doug Flutie is a was a Heisnman trophy-winning Boston College Eagles hero and one of the best QBs Buffalo ever had, not to mention his CFL career, where he won 6 league MVPs and 3 Grey Cup MVPs. That Rob Johnson ever started over Flutie for the Bills was laughable - you just have to look at the results.
  8. Don't forget Joe Flacco and Tyler Thigpen!!!
  9. Give ANY team an O-line and either a very good QB or a dominating defense with a decent QB and they will win games. You need game-breakers to get through the playoffs and win the Super Bowl, but even teams like the Ravens are succeeding with a rookie QB with that formula. When I look at the teams that are struggling and with QB problems this year (Bengals, Browns, Texans, Raiders, Chiefs, Lions, Rams, 49ers, Seahawks), it's obvious that their respective O-lines are not giving the QB enough time to throw and hurting the running game in the process. The Saints are an anomaly; they score enough points but give up too many.
  10. If you live in Boston or NYC, the game is ON YOUR CABLE PACKAGE because of contractual agreements - check your local listings. Sorry for you WNYers, though
  11. I think that stat they just showed during tonight's game was impressive in Warner's favor. Warner has the highest % of starts with 300-yard passing games - 45% #2 is Dan Fouts with 28 %
  12. Isn't the shotgun used more as an absolute pass play? Yeah, usually - unless you're the Florida Gators or running the "Wildcat." Going shotgun and throwing a lot is only a problem when you are devoid of weapons. You need two good WRs, a pass-catching TE, and a pass-catching RB. The Bills are lacking a couple of those to be passing so much.
  13. "...even the silly antics of a Jim Mora" Playoffs?
  14. "The rest of the receivers shouldn't get in, but I would not be shocked if they let in a couple." Always liked Henry Ellard
  15. It would be a SHOCKER if Lynch was benched for Jackson. Come on. It would be outrageous. I seriously doubt that Jackson has the type of body able to sustain 25 carries per game. He's a change of pace running back, a solid #2 behind Lynch. Lynch is good, not top 5 in the league good yet but definitely close to top 10.
  16. "Saved by zero" gets to me and also this one for Subway: FIVE FIVE FIVE DOLLAR FOOT LONNNNNNNNNNNNNG............
  17. God that song brings back horrible memories Your ringtone? Vibrate, man, VIBRATE.
  18. "four wins in their pockets out of 5 games " None of those are division wins, SEA and OAK are garbage, with STL not much better. Respect will come with Buffalo peforming well against MIA, NYJ, NWE in the next four weeks.
  19. "I love playing SD after they are coming off a big emotional home win" I agree here - I bet SD will be overlooking Buffalo a bit, as they go to New Orleans next week before their bye week. It will be interesting to see how well WR Chris Chambers comes back (if at all) and the coverage on TE Antonio Gates. And will WR Lee Evans be able to get open often against CBs Quentin Jammer / Antonio Cromartie?
  20. Romo's biggest weakness is that he can't scramble out of trouble to find receivers. When he has protection and finds someone open quick, his accuracy deep can be lethal. But when the pocket breaks down, he lacks awareness of where he is and runs right into a sack often. Note - Just reported - Romo is out 4 weeks with a broken pinkie.
