Here's why I say it's too early to write off Darnold or say which is better: They were on par with each other in their rookie seasons in the way they played. Each showed flashes of potential and some issues to be worked on. He's only played 3 games this year so far, against 3 teams in the top 5 defensively. Allen and Darnold had bad games vs. NE. Darnold played worse, but he also didn't have our defense to keep him in the game. I've watched all 3 games that Darnold has played this year. He was weak from the mono against us(top 5 d) and then balled out vs. Dallas. He crapped the bed vs. the Pats, but so did Allen. Allen had one good drive and potentially another. Allen had a diaper on to save the bed, Darnold was butt naked. His team and coaching staff did him no favors. Our TEAM helped keep it close. Gase should be fired. I like Allen and am glad to have him, so please don't take my Allen comments to heart and personal. It's not like I'm talking about your wife, kids or your mama. Chill. Dallas: #5 in yds p/game allowed #6 in ppg allowed We already know about the Pats and Bills defense.

My post was more to let joe in winslow know Allen got a pass for playing poorly vs. the pats too. Wonder where Baker will be after playing the pats next week.

I saw a lot of posts saying the exact same thing for Allen. Yes he had a bad game against the best d in the league. As for the media, they seemed more concerned that Allen was knocked out if the game, not how bad he was.

The only reason that drive meant anything is because the defense kept it close. Allen tried to give the game away in the 1st half. At least one of Allen's ints. cost us a td. He had Zay wide open for a td. That hurt. A lot. Only having our defense made it a respectable game, not Allen. And I've said before, I like Allen and glad to have him. But it's still too early to say one is better than the other. One sucked more than the other vs. the pats, terrible comparison. Imo.

The bills d kept them in the game, not Allen. Some folks seem to take criticism of Allen personally. They both sucked against ne. One more than the other and it still means they both lost. It's way too early to tell who's better. Some have pointed to win-loss record. Maybe Lamar Jackson is better than Darnold and Allen. Just saying.

He played great football here. He was our best defensive player in a ton of games. He wanted to get payed as a top cb and we weren't gonna pay.

That and watching greg williams get it handed to him.

Hopefully this is our defensive " stinker" for the season. Just about every good team goes through one. The fact we still won is gravy.

Hopefully I'm wrong, but I don't see us scoring more than 17 ponts next week offensively. The defense will have to bail us out.
