  1. he never played a down? he was injured
  2. it may be true. but it may have been that McD defensive tactics were not sound we talked about moving Brown to strong side. but you are correct, just conjecture and hindsight at this point : ) my apologies
  3. Edmunds is a generational pick if all goes as planned. Unique physique. and all the tangibles to develop . i would not compare the two. I wonder how they might look together this year in a the 3-4 style. Even Brown was traded for capital. he certainly was working hard. if he had a better line ?? edit I was surprised as well. along with other surprises. such as Robert Woods
  4. I tend to think it was more than that Doc. But certainly Ragland was not the answer . Brown was always serviceable IMO. Humber ?
  5. is that actually the point. we have little to go on , with the T. Edmunds as a pro as we had little to derive from Ragland's preseason, which there was none. or nearly none. lol I had assumed his trade was based upon keen insight into his injury and Bills were lucky to trade him, at the time. now it appears it was purely scheme fit. I have to question that if McD is to become a Coach who reaps the wheat from the chaff
  6. the thing that irked me? he was nearly free money. Even if he only played two downs. McD did not play the business side as well as i might have hoped. he is too much a straight shooter with blinders on. Build up Raglands value for one year or so as two down LB and see how it plays out. run a darned hybrid 3-4 ! did anyone notice Bills could NOT stop the run game at times last year ? he is a thumper + how much plus ? Bills never looked into. seemingly
  7. fun topic Okie thanks I will stick with my Town for boring. I like boring at my age and condition LOL but they have white castle and a wave park ?
  8. actually I might have picked New Orleans as the BEST . but that again was many moons ago. What a night life !! wow ! Boston is super historical , so us american history buffs love that crap. But New orleans offer some great history and architecture too. Memphis has no football teams but is pretty sweet and Nashville is a never ending party. hard to do Kirby. but your point is well taken. Ohio is boring as hell. Cleveland does not rock and Cinci is just a grade above. right next to Indiana so i get the OP's feeling. Pennsaltucky is not far behind excepting Philly and Pittsburgh. the rest is just a quiet working persons dreamland
  9. The reports i have about Austin . It is up and coming young city. Music is awesome and so is night life. Boston lol been years , i but i found them to be a bit arrogant in general. uptight as well . I was with a band from Boston and was a pretend roadie. Just driving through the city was irritating. and that was well before the Patriots were even blip. but the seafood and eateries were excellent. all about what you are looking for i guess. seems like an existential question really Okie : ) good for dialogue for sure my friend !!
  10. btw when were there? and why ? : )
  11. But the steak houses can be exceptional. and BBq ? I wonder why Idaho has no NFL team ....or Montana
  12. why do you say that honestly ? did you have an exceptionally boring time in Indiana ? : )
  13. perhaps fun is where you find it ? people really make the difference. Find a local to give you a tour and i bet you find gems. I used to travel years ago for work. Installation projects and such. Mostly working trips. But grab a local who loves their city? and you are bound to enjoy the visit.
  14. I am nothing but delighted you caught my nonsensical quip ! : ) It was actually for fun. who the heck knows about other cities and how boring they may or may not be ? you lived in Baltimore, and that may be your best comparison to Buffalo. Most of us are not globetrotters and able to discern the nightlife and fun factors in other cities. silly thread. i had a silly answer and now you know my character. or lack thereof ☺️
  15. Me too. Great instinct. Moving to the ball before it was snapped made up for his semi slow recorded open field speed. Thought he would be a much better and more dominant Preston Brown. if you ever watched Spikes closely, he would be moving to the play before any one else when he was on his game. slow as hell. but stacked and shed quickly because he read the play so well. Ragland is the modern level of that upgraded. But sure as heck no Lukely oh well. the only reason Reggie would not have been under Rex was his injury ? point well taken.
  16. stubborn old Mcdermott. I have brought this up before in the " fitting the players to the scheme vs fitting scheme to the players " it did not go well for me if i recall. Sean does Sean it seems. aint nuthin wrong with that i guess. Agreed good story and agreed thanks to Yolo !
  17. Fairport NY or maybe Victor NY
  18. but there were witnesses and guns on the bed?
  19. shame on you. : ) excepting the London game. that was brutal. record setting painful. any hope was squashed, and then stomped upon like grapes being made into grappa till the Peterman debacle anyways
  20. Its the same for me as last year. As long as as i see a cohesive play to the whistle never give up Team? I will remain vigilant in my belief we are on the right path. whether the record is better is not as important as does the team improve is some ways. Like stopping the gashing runs. screens to Tolbert. Turnstile at RT on passing downs. Throwing the ball to the open receiver. these little things getting fixed will keep me cheering. I ain't in no danged hurry to win the SB. I want Bills to contend for years. It will come. the stars will align The Senator would agree !!!! Simple. We have been getting half arsed efforts for decades
  21. this. sometimes ya just close your eyes and hope. wait. don't close your eyes. bad idea.
  22. I may be in the minority about Groy. But i sure liked when he spelled Woods. And surprised he never could not find a way to play RG vs Ducasse. I was fine with Mills as depth actually. in regard to Offense? I feel patience is needed this year. Expecting nothing much as far as player acquisitions. Likely working the new system and ironing it out, looking toward next season when the Bills will have enough money saved up to make some significant moves. Hendy got sick. But their were FA players much better than Mills. i may be incorrect about Jordan, but didn't he have some ties to Castillo... The sum of the parts is what an O line needs. looking forward to seeing the Bills recover reasonably from the Woods Richie setbacks. This year
  23. The downfall of EJM at the professional level was Nix/ala Whaley forcing him upon Marrone Hackett. Two College Coach's with zero experience in the NFL much less developing a QB. And Saint Doug has /had no tact whatsoever. Bringing in Orton told me enough about Marronne and Whaley. I am sure Kyle was no help to developing EJM. just a horrid situation for the Kid regardless. Made me very sad to watch it play out. I hated Marroon and pitied little Nate. Such a miasma of dysfunction at OBD during those day
  24. some good points. A) yes and yes B )Daboll and Saban and yes C ) Absolutely ! D )I think Daboll is part of the future state. This year might be part of an acclimation back into the NFL game. Do not feel the pieces are in place yet. Just a starting point to develop and implement his system, and evaluate. E ) Thats a hopeful prediction refer to A ) F ) i expect an Offense that will find its groove after a couple games, but be limited by it's talent. and the QB's (excepting Allen who will be sitting : ) may or may not be stop gap that is no reason to hold back the rest of the Offensive development under Brian. this is a reasonable take. and please Folks BE PATIENT. if you need to drink more so be it. but no pitchforks after game two !! well, then don't you eat that yellow snow. I think the Train has already left the station. and i missed it gosh darnit ! Its a concern for sure ☹️ Jordan Mills comes to mind. and he looks to be the starter yet again....
  25. is for me anyways. But those day's are long past. Skyline i am going to make a batch soon. it's on my white board. and i have a can of Skyline awaiting. My blood pressure is normal again so f' it. Live a little i say. is it the chopped onions ? Lol you guys are awesome cheers !
