After the Cleveland game Tasker said on the TV broadcast he favored Peterman to start opening day.

This whole week, all Tasker has been doing on his WGR show with Murphy is shill for Peterman.

He's talked up Peterman more than the guy's agent would if he had a radio show.

Maybe because Peterman has been the best QB on the field for us so far this season...

I personally think the guy will eventually be better than the likes of Kirk Cousins and a few other fringe talent QBs.  I just don't get all the hate towards him on this board.  Blah, blah, blah he threw 5 interceptions in a game....  who gives a flying FU3k.

One of the most interesting rivalries in Buffalo sports has nothing to do with any event on the football field or ice rink.  It has more to do with the organizations covering Buffalo sports - namely The Buffalo News versus The Athletic.

Matt Warren of Buffalo Rumblings details the entire situation in a must-read article that you can below:

    https://www.buffalorumblings.com/2018/6/22/17488972/what-really-happened-buffalo-news-sports-2018-tim-graham-jerry-sullivan-bucky-gleason-john-vogl

What the article doesn't state is that since the launch of The Athletic Buffalo, the response has been so good that the editors decided to expand by adding additional writers including Joe Yerdon, Lindsay D'Archangelo (likely recommended by Tim Graham), and John Ramsey (aka Yards Per Pass)

Basically, it seems to me that The Athletic executed the intended business model of the BN Blitz - they just flat out did it better by offering solid local reporting with familiar names such as Graham, Fairburn, and Vogl, as well as including bloggers like Kris Baker, Yards Per Pass, and Erik "I'll block you if you disagree with me" Turner.  Plus coverage for the Bills and Sabres, additional coverage from other markets available through The Athletic, and potentially expanding into college sports.

The question is, if you are the Buffalo News how do you respond against a brand new entity in the local market that has already likely eclipsed your subscriptions?  Should the BN try to stand up and fight back or ditch the BN Blitz and take on a new strategy?

Also, as a fan which side do you support?  Will you subscribe to one service over the other?  Both services?  Or none at all?

Full disclosure - I'm not an Athletic of BN Blitz subscriber and am largely against the idea of paying for premium news sites.  I am thinking about signing up for the 7 day trial to see whether the Athletic is worth it.

Neither.  I read whatever I can click on without a subscription.  Bills related web news is everywhere, and all I need are the basics, it's not important enough to me what the opinions of local writers are.  Sullivan for example was a jerry springer type and the rest had their moments as well.  As long as I can get a recap of action elsewhere, I'm good.

  3. How many times does this have to be asked....

Does it not strike anyone here as odd that IF he's such a good player he'd be picked up already?  nahhh, too much to ask.

He's not just a diva, sorry count, he's a devisive individual who creates problems with both players and coaches, then sprinkle on top the fact management doesn't want to deal with him.  The days of douchebag divas running the show may be fading.

Sorry OP, it's a hard NO.  And yeah, he's not that great anymore either.  If the Bills did do the unthinkable and bring this un-polished turd in here, I'd root against him.

  4. hey, how 'bout he wins some games and takes the team somewhere first...  I don't remember fans naming Bruce Mathison or Joe Dufek anything right out of the gate...

And a reference for those of you still just an unfertilized egg when bumbling Bruce or Juiceless Joe graced the sidelines;  I don't remember anyone running out to nick-name J.P. Losman right out of the gate either, or Trent Edwards for that matter.  It took those @$$Clowns a solid season or 2 to earn their well deserved nick-names.

All in or not, let's just pump the brakes, mmmkay?

Just came across this article that flew under the radar from a small newspaper near me.  The writer is somewhat critical of The Bills Mafia stadium antics which have gone viral.

Ironically he says something I never thought of.  He mentions that the Bills org is not happy about these viral videos.  When the built a new stadium is built downtown, the high ticket prices will keep this kind of “riff raff” (his words) out of the stadium.

I was a college kid once, and we engaged in drinking activities from time to time, so I understand the desire to get rowdy, but that is an embarrassment to anyone, especially to the Bills organization.  Now that social media is everywhere, you have to know your stupidity will be put on full display.  Having that kind of fun I have no issue with, being proud of it later, that, I do have a problem with.

Bro, how many picks did he throw in that half? I’d rather have Naaman Roosevelt play QB than Peterman ?. If I were HC I would’ve cut him and then had a turk hold his head under my ass so I can show him his replays.

Seriously tho, how hard were you laughing when you typed this up? Are you Nathan Peterman?

are you that easily swayed?  I think it's a little crazy to judge him on 30 minutes of football when he's without question looked pretty good.  It's funny how nobody wants to remember the rest of the very little play time we have to look at.

i mean god bless Fred, but you are seriously putting this guy up as your best ever?

Yes definitely, based upon his body of work, his road to the pros, to how he carried himself as a pro.  I don't care who tossed up better numbers really.  I'd say it's between him and Kyle Williams as the two players who stood out the most.

  8. I wouldn't be surprised in the least, nor would I be entirely disappointed either.  If they want Josh Allen to succeed, the Bills will need him to grow into a starting role, and Peterman looked good at times, better than what they have passed off to fans as a starting QB over the last decade anyway, so it could only benefit the team if he does play well.  If he plays really well, then you have a QB problem.  If he plays adequate, then you have a good enough reason to bring Josh along to supplant him.  I see no down side here.

  9. Seriously, it has to be Aaron Maybin.  Even if there was another player close, he made a rap song about "Cravin" sacks.  You have to be a first class, Grade A Delta Bravo to make a rap song about yourself....

For those of you scratching your heads over what a Delta Bravo is...

People loved EJ, too at this stage of the game. Nice guy, great interview, very thoughtful and polite. At this point they have not played any football yet.

Every situation is different, and I pray we got this one right. Time will tell.

“Time will tell” seems to be a theme. Anyone who thinks they KNOW the answer now is kidding themselves, but not me. Even if you turn out to be right, you just guessed.

I never saw the franchise skillset in EJ though.  I did see the other intangibles mentioned however in EJ.  EJ had catastrophic flaws that are hard to rid, like holding onto the ball too long indecisiveness, and the ability to read defenses.

I think we'll see a big difference over the likes of EJ, JPL, and other ghastly selections at the position.

Switching from a 4-3 defence to a 3-4 defence when we were ranked 1 and 2 defensively in the previous two years.   I had high hopes that Rex would have came here and gave us an offence to match our defence.  Instead he gave us a defence to match our offence.

When Rex let Swartz go, that also made me sick.
