i hope we dont pick a QB. I hope we Draft nothing but Oline and Dline/LB I dont want to see a WR, RB, QB, DB picked at all. I hope we snag the best Dline first then Oline, maybe ever trade up depending on who is on the draft. Also depends on who we pick up when we have free agency. I dont know why people want to waste a first round pick on Luck/mallet. Fitz is okay for now, ya he isnt a future QB for us, but why draft Luck if we dont have an Oline, or we dont have a Defense to actually win a game. If you look at it, we could of won almost all our games, if we actually had a D that would stop a team from scoring 24+ points on us, or a D that could make an INT/Fumble.
I'm so glad you are not in charge of making draft decisions for this team. Passing on a player like Luck is how you become and stay a bad/mediocre team.

He's 6'5 - 270 and holds the record at UNC with a power clean lift of 374lbs, but just because he's ALSO fast (broke Julius Pepper's lineman record in the 40 with 4.38) he's obviously just like "somebody we already have"?
No. He's like somebody we already have because people want to reach for him based on one productive year at college. He's fast, but he doesn't have any other moves besides a speed rush. The potential is there. I'm not debating that. But is he worth a top 3 pick after having not been able to play football this season. That answer is no. However, he may end up being a Pro Bowl DE for years to come. We're not in the position to be making a gamble like that with such a high pick.

Another one year wonder who would probably have to be moved to OLB if he doesn't put on more weight/muscle. Great speed, but needs to develop better moves to get by bigger and stronger lineman at the next level. Sounds like somebody we already have?

I came up with this opinion by observing that the coach of the Buffalo Bills feels that C.J. Spiller is such a liability, that he is rarely allowed on the field. He doesn't touch the ball, and now we are bringing in another journeyman scrub in a desperate attempt to continue to keep him off the field.
How does this possibly bode well for C.J. Spiller's ability to be an NFL running back?
There's just so much wrong with all of this that I don't know where to start.

Spiller didn't appear to do bad in blocking with the limited time he was on the field.

Interception- if they get a FG, its a two point game. Wonderful call to go for 2.....you take the points until you HAVE to go for 2
And had we converted the 2 pt conversion it would have been an excellent call...

The problem with today is that Cutler will probably make our defense look good by throwing a mass amount of picks and getting sacked. I don't think I could stomach the idea of not getting the chance to draft Luck at #1 because we decided to prove a point and win 4 games this season.

I don't think we pick up Luck if he comes out eary. I don't think the brain trust at OBD values underclassmen too highly.
I'm not saying he isn't the best QB out there, I don't follow college ball enough to tell the difference between the front runners, but I seem to remember Buddy saying at the beginning he looks for continued sucess over an entire college career and didn't like drafting underclassmen.
Buddy has already gone on record as saying that he really likes Luck.

Get this guy if it means giving up half your picks. He is money in the bank.
Why would we have to give up half of our picks? I would venture a guess that any team picking ahead of us would need a QB just as much as us.

as as long as we are the worst record with a team that needs a QB. as long as we are in the top 2-3 we should be set
Carolina is taking a QB. Browns won't pass on Luck. Cowboys could even take Luck and try to trade Romo. We have the strongest strength of schedule right now so we wouldn't finish ahead of any of these teams if we all finished with the same record.
