What is going on with the offensive juggernauts?
Bangarang replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall
Chiefs have Kelce and nobody else. I think our guys outside of Diggs are better than the Chiefs outside of Kelce. -
Unleash Josh Allen...stop trying to change him
Bangarang replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don’t like that running was coached out of Josh. It was such a dynamic part of his game and what made him elite. Running was never the problem, it was taking unnecessary contact. Watching him avoid picking up easy yards with his feet just to try and force a throw outside of the pocket has been frustrating.- 156 replies

Numbers suggest your narratives are wrong on the offense.
Bangarang replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
My narrative is that our offense is vanilla, abandons the run when it shouldn’t, is predictable and lacks creativity. -
I typically use this site: https://overthecap.com/player/hunter-renfrow/7940#:~:text=Contract Notes, salary for 2023 fully guaranteed.

He turns 28 this year. It’s reasonable to question just how much of a future he actually has given his age and production.
-
It becomes an issue if he can’t play though. He’s really only had 1 really good year. His production has declined steeply since 2021. I don’t know if that’s a McDaniels thing or Renfrow thing. It’s a gamble that could end badly pretty easily.
-
Even if you cut him next year with a post June 1st designation, it still carries a dead cap hit of nearly 2 mil.
-
No he’s not. Renfrow’s cap hit next year is $13.7 mil. You’re praying that his lack of production is a result of McDaniels otherwise you’re left paying a lot of money to another useless receiver. We can’t afford that.
-
He’s pretty expensive salary wise.
-
That’s when scheme and play design matter a lot. You simply can’t expect the Hartys, Sherfields, and Shakirs of the world to consistently beat their guys and get open. Scheming things is not a strength of Dorsey.

Expectations of perfection are hampering this team.
Bangarang replied to Giuseppe Tognarelli's topic in The Stadium Wall
If Tyrod doesn’t blunder that goal line play just before the 2nd half ended then they are kicking the game winning FG from the 1 at the end of regulation. The game shouldn’t have ever gotten to that point. The problem with this team is the offense which is inexcusable considering everyone is healthy. -
His contract makes it so we have a significant dead cap hit regardless of when we cut him. Shout out to the boys in accounting for that. And also to whoever thought paying him that much to be an afterthought in our passing game. Can’t forget we ended up drafting a pass catching TE in the 1st round a year later who we don’t really have a plan for either. The guys at OBD really outdid themselves with this one.
-
Might as well sit him the entire year then. If you think he can just sit around and show up at the end of the year in game shape ready to go. I would imagine that the entire goal of playing him now is so that in a month he looks closer to his old self. We have the benefit of not needing him to be a superstar pass rusher right now since we are getting contributions elsewhere.
-
Probably true but their offense is Kelce and not much else. Our options outside of Diggs are better than the Chiefs’ outside Kelce.
-
It’s a win but it’s hard not to look at our issues and how they project going forward. We narrowly beat one of the worst teams in the league and our offense looks like it can’t do much of anything. At least the defense has an excuse for having shortcomings. Can’t really think of any for the offense which makes it even more frustrating
-
He has no feel for the game and his game plans are questionable at best a lot of the time. It’s bizarre how even our scripted plays to start a game just feel thrown together with little thought or attention. Remember the days when we were juggernaut and would score on every opening drive? Feels like an eternity ago.
