Shanahan, Reich and Payton are probably my top 3 with McD not far behind.

Definitely not a bad thing that he plays his best in the 4th quarter. I would love to see those numbers as his stat line for a single game. Just a good and proper 60 minute ass kicking.

Not sure that means he wants to cut bait right now. We heard a lot this offseason that we’ll have a better idea about Allen after this season. More competition may not be a bad thing. I guess it depends by what he means when he says he wants to draft a QB high.

The only thing I’m comparing is record and comebacks which are the 2 most referenced things in defense of Allen.

when was the last time a 1st round QB got their 5th year option picked up and then got the monster contract? I can’t think of one. If a 1st round QB is good enough to get the big pay then it’s probably going to happen before their 4th year. Carr, Wentz, Goff, Newton being examples. Do you think the Titans are still trying to figure out if they’re going to write a blank check to Mariota?

If Allen isn’t good enough to get a monster extension by his 4th year then I really hope we start looking at a replacement.

7-4 as a starter with 5 4th quarter comebacks and 5 game winning drives that year. That’s all that matters apparently. I wonder why he was switched to a TE the next year and is now playing baseball in the minor leagues. Ugly or not, all he did was win as a QB!

Would I rather have a worse stat line? No that’s silly. If the only thing that matters is getting a win then Lamar shouldn’t be criticized either regardless of his stat line. That’s how it works right?

I care. I want to see him have monster games. I want to be one of the best teams in the league making runs in the playoffs led by a great QB. I don’t want him to be Andy Dalton where he’s good enough to win during the regular season but gets slapped around in the playoffs. If we want to talk about how high his ceiling is and how he’s going to be our franchise QB then I’m going to hold him to a high standard.
