As I said on the other thread it would be a terrible pick. He is a 50/50 chance at best to succeed in the NFL. He won't overrun NFL safeties and linebackers like he has in college. When he can't do that his ability to scramble becomes less effective and his accuracy will thus be more important. Because his running ability has been so hard to stop in college teams have blitzed non stop on him and it's a lot easier to pass on man coverage.

You are a fool if you want to draft Newton with a top 10 pick. That is a way too risky pick. Scrambling QB's are at best a 50/50 chance to suceed in the NFL. Draft Newton then we find out he can't run over NFL linebackers like he did college linebackers and he is useless because his accuracy isn't that great when teams drop back in zone.

No doubt which is why we should draft linemen this year not a QB. Why tank the season to take a QB that may or may not develop. We have a guy throwing for an insane amount of yards and TD's right now. Get him some help on the defense and offensive line and let's win NOW. Fitz is helping us score more than enough to win week in and week out.

Not to mention at this moment right now Fitz is doing what you need a QB to do so this team may be better served for Luck to stay in Stanford another year and let us draft another position this year then go get him next year.

Does it seem to anyone else our O line seems to be blocking harder today? Call me crazy but with a QB in the backfield that can throw down field occasionally I think our line is working harder.

Need some points here desperately need a lead going in to the half to get some momentum.

Back to reality.

D has got to pick it up, it would be huge to take a lead in to the half.

Well they blew it they had 4 or 5 turnovers that destroyed the game despite Smith's 2 minute drill wonder.

They have done everything they can to lose this game tonight.

Figure out how to avoid injuries with what young talent we do have. Puz and Spiller more specifically. Try and go out and find a receiver in the rough that can complement Evans for a few years. Other than that just be competitive, develop an offensive strategy that allows us to score a few touchdowns a game and just keep us competitive. It's going to be a rough year but if things just generally look to be getting better by the end of the year I'll be happy. I will consider the next draft a realistic goal for this year as well, so I want to see us come out with a strong draft strategy and stick to it, that concerns what's been said about with getting good scouts to grade out prospects properly.
