  1. OK dude 11 Hall Of Famers if you count James Lofton and 4 straight Superbowls. Let's see if your new team ever accomplishes anything remotely close I don't think people see us on the level of the Browns yet but I may be wrong
  2. Financially he seemed to be one step ahead because the prices were on point for the area and he kept the team profitable in a small market through like 15 bad seasons
  3. Nobody is going to convince me that the guy who is responsible for 98% of the sports happiness I've had in my lifetime is anything but a saint so don't even try lol
  4. Looking back I think Ralph had trust issues he seemed to keep his circle small and only count on people he was familiar with. I don't know if that was age or he got burned but clearly the team was profitable enough that the new owners and the league made it a priority to keep the team here so he did something right. Oakland and San Diego couldn't get it right but little old Buffalo did. Ralph gets the credit for that
  5. Jauron was definitely a Ralph guy seen but not heard and all business. If he was a better coach that would have been helpful
  6. Felt that way for me or else why would I have kept coming back? Every single year I thought we were going to win
  7. Yes I know we lost a lot under Ralph but we were like an underdog that nobody hated. Every single year it FELT like something good was going to happen even though most of the time it didn't near the end. Ralph seemed to be older and stubborn but he loved Buffalo and the team and you never forgot having seen him in the locker room with JK, Reed, and all the legends giving out hugs and patting guys on the back and smiling like crazy. Say what you want about Ralph but he would have never considered bringing a DB like Rex to coach this team, he never deserved to be here in the first place. Ralph had that old school class that you just have or you don't. That dude is a true legend just as much or more so than all of our hall of famers. People swore he was hoarding money and maybe he was but what did he do with it? Gave away billions right back to the communities where it came from. In this New Era so to speak I don't know what to expect. I'm happy the Bills are still in Buffalo but if we are about to become a big national joke then the team would have been better off gone. I think most know that this is a turning point. The honeymoon is over and Buffalos' Grandad Ralph is watching. Respect what he built let's crush this draft, have a good season and make Ralph proud.
  8. Regardless of what happens, this is starting to look really really amateurish. Could we at least have the draft done before more dysfunction? I have a strange feeling the era of full stadiums without winning teams is coming to an end. We're loyal but were not fools maybe Pegula really is in over his head.
  9. And they will completely ignore this and anything else that seems like logic because it doesn't fit their agenda. Like some weird law of attraction thing where if they just wish it hard enough and ignore all logic it's going to happen. McDermott clearly said he and Whaley work well together and Whaley is in charge of the 53 but somehow these people have taken that very simple statement to mean the complete opposite. What's changed since Whaley just got a new contract and most likely a raise and led the coaching search? If somewhere inside of your head you feel like everything Pegula and McDermott says is a lie but what Sal and Tim Graham says is true, you just may have WOD Whaley Obsession Disorder. I've been hearing Whaley is about to get fired just about every day since he got hired and he's still here as he should be.
  10. Ok so a first-time head coach who has not even had a training camp much less won a single game in the NFL is running the draft, hiring the next GM, and basically made everyone else in the organization expendable. Not to mention his great posture in his office chair or something caused Pegula to shred the 4-year extension that Whaley just signed in January. How good of a talker do you have to be to accomplish all that in what two months? Even if it was possible that that was true, McDermott would be completely set up for failure because he is automatically the new target and fall guy for all the whiners to point their finger at if it's not a perfect draft perfect season or close, and whomever he suggest to be the next GM is not noticeably better than Whaley day one. Who is the source that's what I want to know? WNY media has known absolutely nothing for like 2 years now all of a sudden they have all this exclusive info? Guess who would have even more pressure than Mcdermott if any of this is true, Pegula! You just fired the Sabres GM after another failed year and then you fire Whaley to make room for your rookie head coach to be the most powerful person in the franchise before he has even won 1 single game. It better go absolutely perfect or it's one of the biggest disasters in Buffalo sports history. I see no reason whatsoever anyone involved would want to take those type of risks right now. Doesn't pass the smell test for me.
  11. Where did Sal say he got that info from? I couldn't imagine it was from Pegula or McDermott so who else would be making that call. Everything that I've deciphered from their interviews seems to say everything is going smooth. Pegula so far has made all these type decisions at the end of the season, not the beginning. Rex asked to be fired early so he doesn't count
  12. You definitely bring in different players for different schemes. 4-3 3-4 run heavy offense west coast stuff like that. McDeromott mentioned that he and Whaley work together every day on personnel Wrex said the same and we all remember the rumors about Marrone storming out of the room on the Watkins pick
  13. I get why you would say that but what kind of long-term strategy could you have when you have to find players for Marrone then Wrex and now McDermott all within just the last 5 years?
  14. In November 2012 Hogan was cut by the Dolphins, Bills pick him up for free in October on a modest contract he contributes although minimally for years here and leaves. The Pats pay an average of 4 million per year for the guy we got for a minimum contract yet Whaley is a moron Hoodie is a genius. In September 2015 Dolphins release Mike Gillislee, Bills pick him up for absolutely nothing get a few years of production and a bunch of touchdowns. He leaves with a replacement already in place. Pats give us a 5th round pick in a crazy deep draft and pay him ten times what we did, Whaley is an idiot Belichick is the second coming. In 2012 The Bills draft S. Gilmore at 10 give him a 4 year 12 million dollar contract. He's a good player that no one would confuse with Richard Sherman, Patrick Peterson, or Revis (maybe now but not in his prime). From 2012-2016 Pats draft 8 DBs, not one of them got anything close to a 5 year 65 million dollar contract but someone did, yup Stephon Gilmore draftee of the "worst GM in the league". Whaley may not be the fav of local media (which I assume is due to the fact that he has something to do with crushing their former sources) or some percentage of fans, but he clearly has some major admirers in New England, and in the front offices of many other NFL teams I'd bet. Be careful what you wish for Bills fans, Whaley is by far the best GM that's been here since Bill Polian and this may be the year he proves to be in the upper 20% if we get 2 or 3 contributors in this draft which is very realistic.
  15. So funny to hear people whine constantly about Whaley. The reality is the people who matter AKA the people who actually know what's going on behind the scenes disagree with you. Pegula has not shown himself to be shy about getting rid of people he considers to be underperformers, and he has shown an increasing amount of faith in Whaley. Let's see you be the GM for 3 different coaches in 5 years with 3 different offensive and defensive systems and lets see how you do, oh wait your a fan who gets their information from local media who get the majority of their breaking news from Twitter just like you do and the rest they just make up as they go along. Most of us will never get closer to making decisions for a professional sports franchise than buying a ticket to the game so let's not pretend like we have it all figured out. I'm going to go ahead and trust the Billionaire who owns a few sports franchises judgment for now over Bummer and Smugly. When Whaley is gone he's gone until then I'm a supporter and I am excited about this draft and this season. The Bills need some team branded pacifiers for some of these whiners sheesh
  16. Well if you put it that way which position have the Bills drafted that has "done so much" for the Bills lately? That's more of a pointless snarky comment that is so common around here than any opinion that's worth debating. You can tell me what your pick is and I could make the same argument.
  17. I agree generally but this guy might be special, special. AP was the best player on the Vikings just about every year he was there and took them to the playoffs a few times. If you have Shady taking 15 carries per game, Fournette (if as good as I think but who am I), Clay and Sammy on the same Offence and the D is at least decent with our O-line you're going to the playoffs. Why does it matter what pick number it is? That's a bonkers lineup. PLENTY of corners and linebackers that would be a good fit in the 2nd and third rounds RT and WR in the 5th boom! Championship
  18. On this team at this time I think it has to be Corey Davis he's more of what's missing in the WR core right now
  19. Seems like I've talked myself into thinking Leonard Fournette is a possibility at 10 although he will most likely be gone. Reddick is definitely my sleeper. In any trade down he's almost a lock in my opinion.
  20. I like Clay a lot I'm glad he's on the team I think he's the best TE we had since wait have we ever had a good TE? Pete Metzelaars I guess. I just think if you draft a TE at 10 eventually somebody has to go and the perception will be Clay is eventually on the outs. They have a very similar skill set on paper.
  21. QB at 10 will not happen no way. Another EJ situation associated with Whaley and he may never get another GM job in the NFL in his life and he knows it. Any QB this year is almost the exact scenario and outcome in my opinion. Nope not happening
  22. Seems like they already think Clay is Howard though. He's a blocker and pass catcher and makes a ton of money. I think you take a TE late to compete with O'Leary not in the top 10 BTW how long before Logan Thomas is ready?
  23. So our starting RB is Shady who averaged 14.5 carries per game last year when he was one year younger. Our backup would be Gillislee who the team only thought enough of to offer a one-year tender. Pretty clear that the Bills intend to run the ball quite a bit based on bringing back the same O-line and getting arguably the best fullback ( and 4th highest paid) in the league as a priority free agent. If Leonard Fournette falls to #10 do you consider handing in the card for the "next AP"? I think they start the safeties they got in free agency. Mike Williams is off the board to the Titans. Whaley can't afford to draft another banged up defensive player like Lattimore or Jon Allen. Let's say they don't love Corey Davis as much as I do because he's not one of these big school guys that they like or he goes to the Bengals. I'm team Whaley but I doubt he admits a mistake in Clay by drafting OJ Howard. You are stuck at 10 can't get the right value and you better not draft a QB. Do you do it or nah?
