  1. Yeah. I'm not saying necessarily first round either. But there should be one taken every year. Too many dinosaurs still running NFL teams.
  2. It boggles my mind that these teams in QB hell don't draft a QB every year.
  3. Yup...because all the WR talent in the world doesn't fix QB deficiencies...however great QB's improve WR deficiencies dramatically.
  4. Whaley is the best at being mediocre. So what.
  5. This is dumb. Not liking the Pegulas decision making thus far as owners.
  6. You have no idea what you are talking about.
  7. The degree in which they are going to be taking it...yeah it is new. Football is still pretty much all scouting based. The Browns will rely on proprietary models that DePodesta and his staff come up with on who to draft (creating a draft board), player projections, who to sign as free agents etc. They will still scout but their resources will be focused more on the analytical models I assume. That would be groundbreaking in the NFL.
  8. Perhaps Sashi Brown knows what he is doing. Very impressed with the hire of DePodesta and the forward thinking approach they are bringing to the NFL.
  9. Still won't be enough in your hypothetical when you add the other holes you created as well that will have to be filled.
  10. If you sign 3 quality starters to replace those 5 starters you released, the Bills would have no money to sign Glenn and Incognito. The Bills are severely handcuffed next year because of how poorly they managed the cap. Would you want to go into next season with Wood, Miller, Mills, and Cyrus as your offensive line?
  11. http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/177221-can-the-bills-win-11-games-without-a-great-ol/page-2 There were other prediction threads where I mention it as well.
  12. Not all. My projection had them at 8-8. 9-7 if the team didn't suffer major injuries.
  13. Adrian peterson really skews that number too. I think there was only 1 other back (Gore) that made more than 4 million on that list of leading rushers for 2015.
  14. On another site they point out the top 10 rushers in the NFL, the average cap hit of all 10 was 3.95 million. LeSean McCoy's cap hit 7.7 million.
  15. Doug Whaley's roster construction is the worst example of that. This team is not built through the draft and keeping the cap manageable. Doug Whaley is fighting for his job. The Bills are not Green Bay and if you expect them to do what you say, are you going to B word and complain when they don't make the playoffs again next year? Because I won't.
  16. The point is the money you free up cutting these players has to be used to replace those same players. That cuts into re-signing players and filling any current holes on the team. Drafting is only going to net you 1...2 if your damn lucky starting caliber players. Sometimes you might not even have one. It's a HUGE point. Bills are not in fine shape.
  17. Yup. I have been saying this for over a year now.
  18. You just cut 5 starters that you have to replace.
  19. The author of that article indicated that Whaley's main concern is resigning glenn and incognito and not going to be adding much via free agency because of the restrictions with the cap. Fans have to realize this team might not be better next year. So essentially he is hinting at cutting mario to free up cap space for glenn/incognito as the main moves.
  20. It is certainly possible because of the cap situation. They are in a really tough position this off season. The Bills will not be able to just add pieces to improve and complement the roster. Essentially they will have to create holes (cut players) just to keep some of their current players let alone trying to add pieces via free agency and filling the players they cut to free up some cap space. This very well could be a worse roster next year.
  21. Start the audio clip at 4 minutes. Peters source is spot on. http://media.wgr550.com/a/100538257/brian-koziol-paul-hamilton-and-pat-malacaro-talk-marrone-s-exit-from-the-bills.htm
  22. I remember on new years eve when Marrone left. WGR was doing an interview with Paul Hamilton and while he wasn't as specific as Peter he ripped Marrone a new one saying how awful he treated some of the employees at One Bills Drive. IIRC he even mentioned some would leave in tears after dealing with him.
  23. Yeah. It's like having Andrew Friedman as GM and hiring Dusty Baker as his manager.
  24. Not the first time this has happened in sports. The Rays hired Andrew Friedman from wall street and turned that franchise from the bottom (a laughing stock) to a perennial playoff team. That being said baseball is kind of a different beast. The Browns should shoot for the stars and try to land a whale like Eliot Wolf or Eric DeCosta.
