I think when you are rebuilding they will always look to upgrade. None of the guys on the roster were picked by Nix/Gailey so if Thigpen or anyone else becomes available, then why wouldn't we add some talent to the roster. It's not like our 2nd, 3rd or 4th stringer is any better prepared or was drafted by the current regime. Just saying it is easily possible.

Is it possible TO would turn us down if we offered??? Not saying he would, but I think it is reasonable to think he may turn us down (in which case, we would probably never hear @ it). If it were in the off-season, he may say..."I'll wait to see if a better offer comes around". I'm not saying, I'm just sayin'...

I live in VA and hate the Redskins but your analysis is right on!! One of the smartest thing I have read on this board in many years. One could argue that losing (FIRING) Bill Polian was one of the worst sports decisions in history. Worse than the RedSox getting rid of Babe Ruth. Why? How long was Babe Ruth around for? How many years/decades has Bill Polian been winning? Which job is more difficult?? To be a superstar and perform as a player OR to build championships and lead organizations to Super Bowls?? Look at Bill's track records....After taking us to 4 Super Bowls he went on to Carolina and the Colts. Took Carolina to NFC Champs in 2nd year as expansion team, Then built the Colts and of course us. Gettting rid of Polian would be worse than getting rid of Peyton Manning but ..... We have one wining season in 10 years. Pathetic! One could also argue we might be better off as an expansion team with Bill Polian at the helm than where we are now. Ralph Wilson has a history of making PATHETIC decisions. IF we really have 4 losing decades out of 5, with the one being Polian at the helm than I am utterly disgusted. Don't believe the hype!!!!!!!! With that said I am optimistic we are on a good track now but who knows what the future holds with the ages of Nix and Wilson. Good times! Go Bills! I will ALWAYS be a Bills fan but I think we need to all keep our eyes open to reality and the facts.

Yeah....come to think of it. How about the last couple of off-seasons? Getting rid of starters right before the season. Crowell, Langston Walker et all. I mean, NOT a good sign when STARTERS are departing right before the season begins. Crowell left on his own. But still just weird scenarios and not good omens. Funny thing is.....I love how some on this board kept sayin....first..."Well Peters is a cancer", then Walker wasn't that great...we have fill in the blank __________Bell________, and he's a high motor guy or is a gym rat. Damn...I could just read buffalobills.com myself and blindly follow too. Hers's hoping Chan the Man can change things....But realistically it will take another year/draft minimum. If you want some constructive criticism instead of entertaining sarcasm...Here is what I got......I am sick of people complaining about this or that, when it comes to media and the Bills...or any other team for that matter. Bottom line is: Just F-ing win Baby! If we had such a great quarterback, there would be no reason to write up a list to convince us, he would simply be starting. Oh, and comparing Trent to Joe Montana is just ridiculous. Just caught this on rotoworld..... Bills coach Chan Gailey said Wednesday that rookie OT Ed Wang's high ankle sprain was not as serious as initially believed. "His injury was not as serious as maybe we had first thought," Gailey said "(Wang) has a chance to be back by the last minicamp." I think we are in the definition of a rebuilding year. New O-line, New defense. All new coaches. No proven quarterback. Week at several positions including WR...others. I have been a fan for way too many years. If you read this board the last several off-seasons, sooooooooo many people brimming with hope...NO, confidence about how this was our year......... Reality is we are building for the future. I'm actually optimistic for the future...but hey I remember when we drafted Mike Williams and that was our year. Then the next year was gonna be our year. Then Greg Williams was going to turn it around, then it was Mularkey, then it was Marv Levy, then it was Big Dick. Then it was TO. All I'm saying here is there is a pattern of fans getting all excited for the upcoming year. Let me ask you a question: How would you feel if you were a fan of the NY Jets, the Pats, the Dolphins, the Vikings, Colts, Saints, Packers. There is A LOT of optimism out there. I am optimistic, just realistic. We are a couple years away. Build the foundation. (Any yes, sign some free agents....ppppppppppp..lease!

Ding Ding Ding! Great answer....so many of us Bills fans get cought up with the player/flavor of the month. Last year, all the folks saying Langston Walker...then Bell then this guy or this 5th round draft pick is gonna make our O-Line great.....yeah....right. But the coach says...and his pre-draft bio says.....high-motor, never takes a play off....lives in the weight room, eat breathes and.....you get the idea. Don't believe the hype! Our O-line is the definition of a work in progress......and probably an early work.

Damn, none of this F-ing matters if you are winning! A LOT of players miss VOLUNTARY workouts. The problem is We suck and have SUCKED for 10 years. Do you think if a player from Indy, the Pats, New Orleans etc etc misses off season voluntary workouts anyone cares??? If we were winning Super Bowls and had a team of thugs and drugs anyone here would care??? In fact we would LOVE it! Nothing like a team of BAD-ASSES that actually win. Examples: Broad Street Bullies of the 70's. Ravens when they won it all. If we didn't suck, we wouldn't care. (Bruce Smith never came to off season voluntary workouts. Nobody gave 2 *****!
