IDK why you all are suddenly acting like my problems w/ SOPA mean I am against IP at all. I am not. I think we need some updates to the way the law works, and this bill isn't it. -

Everyone knows that it's a question of to what degree and the bottom line is our IP laws a whole should probably be revised to fit with the scheme the future will force on them one way or another. Note: revised =/= abolished. I'm sorry there is uncertainty in your field and change loomning. Don't label me a pirate b/c I don't support extreme protectionism for you. -

I know just saying the conversation as a whole started leaning towards weather IP is legit (an idea Thomas Jefferson was iffy about and initially against)as opposed to the fact that this bill right now is terrible for people who use the internet. -

http://www.engadget.com/2011/12/20/sopa-hearing-delayed-until-the-new-year-as-petition-signatures-t/ C'mon now guys...if you ever asked for a damn link in the shout box or watched tape on a draft prospect on youtube you need to sign this petition -
Of course he doesn't know it for a fact. The only thing everyone in this topic can agree on is that he is explosive and talented as hell, is just about what we need on field across from Stevie, and would vastly improve our offense. That is what he knows for a fact. DeSean isn't the player you see out there right now regularly or we wouldn't be talking about him. I could care less about his personal life. It's dreaming to think we would even make a play, the team that cut Hangartner and never makes a play on anyone (that costs money). But I would feel better if I thought we would if he would consider it. Instead I know we wouldn't consider it. Ya I thought about that too but at this point I doubt they would be shy to franchise him and trade him.
-
Man I hate when Bills fans always focus on the negative of every little thing on a player and say "he's not worth ____ money." DeSean on this offense would be ridiculous.
-
Extend him or trade him IMO. I also truly believe that good GMs consider past services of certain guys in certain situations (even though I know you can poke holes in that all you want). Just treat him fair.
-
The Eagles were never going to extend him this season that much was clear. I understand that no matter what he did take home about 1.5M over the last 3 years, and that many people don't like it when they think a player mails it in on the field. I can't sit here and COMPLETELY defend everything the guy does but I think I've made my point pretty well in this thread. There is no greater contract FU in the history of the league IMO. And as for other rookies drafted in his position, let's face it they aren't 175lbs carrying the team on their back getting multiple concussions. DeSean is a freaking BEAST. And like the other guys said a few posts up, he is EXACTLY what our offense needs.
-
Like I said he had no choice but to take the field.
-
He literally couldn't hold out and the Eagles KNEW that when they decided to **** him. He is broke and he needs to vest his benefits anyway this is 4th year. There is no logical other way to look at it if you know a little about the league. This was the biggest FU a team can do to a player.
-
And let's be real about that too. Fred Jackson's situation is NO WHERE NEAR the level of **** you that DeSean Jackson's is. Fred has made some solid money (he makes more a year than DeSean's after tax contract is worth total) AND Fred is NOT on a rookie contract.
-
A rookie contract. It's not like any contract you've ever signed. Very little ability to bargain. If it was his second contract I may be more in line with you but you have to understand how the NFL works. Give this guy a high yearly salary w/ a little guaranteed money as you can get away with, tell him you love him and he's great and come be a star and that we'll cut him when he is no longer worth his yearly salary. He's secure. He can be way beyond secure if he stays good. New environment.
-
If anyone in the history of the league has good cause to be a diva it's DeSean this year. He quite on Eagles b/c the Eagles quite on him. When you play football you expect to be taken care of. I cannot sit here and say the guy is some sort of lock to be a great worker if he's paid but I basically wouldn't go over the middle or do anything that would risk getting me another concussion if I was him. And if someone in the locker room came up to me and told me to go harder (someone making/made way more than me who is no where near as good as me) I would tell him to mind his own damn business. Dude could be DONE w/ one more huge hit he's one of the smallest guys in the league. He's worth 8/9M a year easy and he's making 600K. He'll have made a total of 3M after this year is done, half of which goes to taxes. Let's be real a lot of that is probably gone even if it isn't that won't last a lifetime. He probably has no other skill set. His life is over if he gets hurt. He's small as hell. The Eagles didn't take care of him, they didn't pay what they HAVE to if they want him to go hard and risk his career and then they all look at him like he's a cancer b/c he has to make sure he enough money to live off? Please. Eagles are scum. They paid EVERYONE but him. He has been their best player for some time.
-
We would be awesome w/ DeSean IMO. I give him a complete pass for this year the Eagles screw him hard. The only thing that would give me pause is thinking about if Fitz could hit him deep (and I mean DEEP).
-
Who cares I don't miss him and we've been as bad as we can possibly be. Move on from Donte.

Bills Could Avoid Most of Fitz's New Deal

Just saying this is something that I guess could happen if we don't play better on offense. I think we all assume we will play better, even the most negative of us. We basically have to we're bottomed out. But if we don't for another 4 or 5 games can anyone really say we may not do this? They were debating this on Around the Horn. Personally I would say it seems like a panic move but if it were 5 weeks down the line and he looks the same and the offense is still pathetic...I don't know. Can't say I would be excited about having Fitzpatrick around as our undisputed guy if that were the case.
