  1. because he could still come back and contribute down the stretch.......and if his rehab went better, he could have been back much sooner -- hindsight is 20/20.......regardless, i think the benefits of that happening far outweigh carrying an extra body........i don't think we've really missed the spot......
  2. i think we have an exception here.......for examples, see josh evans and simeon rice.........both were young players coming off bad years when they first hit free agency, and both took two tiered signing bonuses that allowed the jets and bucs to get a low-priced one year look before committing long-term........
  3. this won't quiet the crowd.......according to the masses here, TD should have known he would get his knee injured and thus, should never have signed him........ i still find it amazing that so many people who praised the move at the time now call it stupid......
  4. so again i ask, why did he start using? for the long-term health benefits? he did it to cheat, plain and simple.........
  5. i get it, you agree with us and also think bonds has used roids........no surprise there........
  6. hahahaha..........well said stevo.........looks pretty damn obvious to me and the rest of the world......what do you say BRH, care to make this interesting? name the terms..........
  7. so if bonds wasn't using steriods to enhance his performance, why was he using them? for the long-term health benefits? bottom line - there all cheaters......
  8. i believe performance enhancing drugs have been banned for quite some time in baseball -- they just hadn't got around to testing for it until last year....... if it was legal before last year, why are he and giambi (and company) going out of their way to lie about their use?? certainly seems they have expended an awful lot of effort over the last FEW years to proclaim their innocence.......
  9. looks like a free agent bargain to me, with a very small upfront investment........5 mins in a room with krumie and he'd be frothing at the mouth again, just like a few years back when he was drawing double teams........ if pat walks, i hope we have a long look at hovan.......he will come cheaper and is still young enough to rebound (i think around 26).......
  10. i hope this keeps barry out of the HOF.......this is much worse then anything rose ever did.......
  11. i wouldn't have drafted rivers in the first place.........brees just needed time to develop, i don't know why they gave up on him so early........
  12. i think miami will be digging out cap hell for awhile........they should have bit the bullet and took a season like this long ago, but instead they've backloaded deals for guys like bowens, taylor, surtain, madison, thomas, etc. and their cap hits are getting really high........you can't keep restructuring deals for forever, and when they are finally forced to cut/trade some of these guys, their gonna have to carry some SERIOUS dead money.........i don't see them having the cap room to add much this off-season, and they certainly need alot.........they may end up losing more then they gain.......
  13. zow2 from 2 day ago: "Bunch of B.S. His fibula is probably snapped in half but they are trying to salvage his trade value by propping up his medical status." is this just another example of the bills "trying to increase his trade value"?? haha some people are entirely too negative........
  14. wasn't that ken simonton?? i don't remember burns missing blocks in NFLE........
  15. i never said we did jackass, learn to read.......just for all the REALLY slow people out there, i'll break it down in even clearer terms....... bills get -- jp boys get -- 2005 1st rounder 2004 2nd rounder (julius jones) 2004 5th rounder (sean ryan)
  16. you can call him a joke all you want, but i think he'll get the last laugh.......it's not like this will be his only year in buffalo.......he'll have december and next year to prove himself again.......funny how so many on this board were calling this a "great signing" just a few months ago.......
  17. it wasn't just the 2005 first rounder we traded to get JP.........we also dealt them a 2nd and a 5th as well....... i really don't think it was all that solid a trade.......we gave up alot.......
  18. i love watching ice back away from a thread when he's made to look like a fool......
  19. or maybe ice thinks he was right when he called evans a bust earlier this year.........
  20. was he right when he called willis a "ill-concieved draft pick" earlier this year?
  21. it's not like JP was picked #1 overall or even top 5 -- he was picked #23..........the difference in money is HUGE, and the pressure to play losman next year is not there like it was in the palmer case and it is in the rivers case......... the only pressure mularky has on him is the media -- the decision is not based around money or the quality of the pick.........if the pick was earlier, the arguement might make sense, but with the investment the bills made in losman being late in the first, it doesn't........
  22. bills signed him for 8.8 million over 4 years -- that was pretty big money back in '96 i believe........his play never lived up to the contract, and was cut before he could even play it out.........
  23. yea, quinn early.....big FA signing that didn't turn out that well, from the saints........
