  1. I think this is kind of the problem nowadays. Qbs never used to start their first season. They sat and learned the game over a season or two. Now we throw them in and expect immediate success. I wasn't a fan of Ej in college but I believe in our front office. They drafted him seeing an upside that I didn't. I saw two games that Ej played really poorly in. Pittsburgh and Tampa. I thought he played well enough or pretty well in others. I will gladly give him another season to show me what he's got

I agree. And we have no choice, really. What concerns me about EJ is accuracy. I'm just not sure that is a learned skill. I have to ignore the EJ to Peyton comparison.
  2. I can't remember the last guy who grew into being a franchise QB. Great players show up great and EJ is not that. I think his top end is an Alex Smith type where he manages the game and tries not to lose. He makes everyone nervous. But I voted 'other' because I think the Bills defense is a mirage. New scheme. Inconsistent and overrated "stars". Big loss at FS. I just don't see a drastic improvement in this defense, this year, as constituted.

  3. Four games for synthetic pot?

4 games for being dumb as a post. I think the "strength" the Bills have on the D-line is greatly exaggerated. Partly because KW is old and broken….and partly because this guy is UNRELIABLE!

Aaron Donald would be good insurance and almost without risk if he were there at 9. But, my guess is he will not be.

  4. I dunno who Massare is but I do like scenario 1 a great deal.

And re: Sources…..NOBODY has sources this time of year. Even the most well connected NFL reporters are guessing. The true draft information is too important to be mentioned by someone important enough to know it to someone not important enough to hear it. That's what my sources are telling me anyways.

  5. Well that was elabroate....yes, he's a DT...but his physical size and athletic ability make him an ideal DE....if he's Drafted in a 3-4 Defense, that's exactly where they'll put him...if he can learn that position, it's a shorter jump to a 4-3 DE, he can do that too...but thank you for weighing in "all knowing" Defensive mind...appreciate you taking the time out of your busy god-like schedule to contribute...

Seriously dude? You read away more than I wrote.

Aaron Donald is too short to be a 3-4 DE, not fast enough (or small enough) to be a 4-3 end and is absolutely ideal as a 4-3 DT playing a 3 technique. I defy you to find 1 article discussing his possibilities as a DE. If you can, I'll be happy to eat crow. But I'd take him as a linebacker or kicker on the Bills. I love the guy.

Problem with Donald at DE is short arms. Makes a world of a difference, that being said I'd be OK with him at 9, Barr would make me wanna put my head through the tv.

I think Barr is better than you think.

He reminds me a lot of Kyle Williams. I can't believe how fast he is.

If he turns out to be as good as KW, I wouldn't have a problem taking him at 9.

As good as KW is, he is one of the common threads on some awful defenses. I think Donald will be better.
  6. AJ McCarron goes at the end of round 1

    CBF

    Obsurd...

Taylor Lewan will be a major disappointment in the nfl.

    more crazyness...

    Ok. my predictions:

    1. Aaron Donald goes in the top 8.

    2. Scott Crichton goes in the 1st round, and

    3. The Bills will take a QB in the 3rd or 4th round.

  7. Mod's- is there any way to track this? I bet he is wrong with 80% of these

    BOOM!!!!

I read the opening paragraph and I'm thinking…….wrong….wrong….wrong….wrong. I think it's always possible a player like Barr is overvalued as everyone is fast in the NFL, but if he's a risk, so is K. Mack. I tried NOT to like Evans, but jeez, just watch him play. I'm putting the troll watch out there.

You seriously have got to be kidding with that comparison...

And please don't tell me you've watched both a lot and come away with that feeling because it's literally impossible...I have watched them both a TON...And Hill can't hold Evans jock...On hands alone Evans is leaps and bounds better than Hill...If you want a comparison for Evans it's Alshon Jeffery or Brandon Marshall... B-)

    Great comparisons.
  8. How far are you moving up trading a first and a third? How do you feel if it was a couple of firsts?

I think Whaley will be smart about it. He's going to say he's very interested in pick X, then offer compensation that will not cripple to growth of this team. I think giving away a 2nd or next year's 1st cripples the growth of the team and will not be seriously considered.

Now….two 3rds or a 3rd and a player??? Not likely, but hell yes if they go for it.

  9. Ahem. If you haven't been in the playoffs for 15 years, maybe its time to look back and see where you screwed up.

Right. I've been amazed at the thought of trading up as the Bills have many holes. But you know what…maybe it's time to do something different. What if DW could trade up for 2 third rounders? I'm not saying it's likely and there's no reason to debate it. But there IS a point where he's be stupid NOT to trade up.
  10. We used to own 4 in the club and 4 on sidelines. Even when the Bills were decent, it's really hard to sell the club seats at anything else than a 30-50%loss. The sidelines sell like crazy. But $262 was a bit more than the market was willing to bear. What's more, there IS availability EVERY game in the club. My advice is just buy them this year for the few games you go to. BTW - I didn't really like sitting there. It felt too far from the field and was very insulated from the energy of the rest of the stadium, but the bathrooms were nice and you can have a pizza delivered to your seat!

  11. It just occurred to me that expanding the "lying season" on the NFL has done nothing other than bring more useless and unfounded speculation to the fore and almost makes anything GMs say during the lying season a mockery of the press and fans in general. Is it really worth trotting your GMs out there to scheme and lie for a month just so you can call May and "NFL month"?
