Something is working. It's called Ken Wisenhunt. Which is why they can lose their OC to the Chiefs and fire their DC and still be competitive.

Change truly comes to One Bills Drive
Nevergiveup replied to Mike in Syracuse's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Classic. Fairchild left on his own for the Colorado St. head coaching job. -
They are actually doing these coaches a favor. They are under contract and the Bills could have waited until the next head coach was hired to make a move. Which likely would have only meant they would be waiting around longer to be fired. They now have the opportunity to find other employment. Helps the coaches by giving them a head start, helps the Bills by limiting their expense if the coaches get hired elsewhere. Who cares what you call it?

Does anybody know who mini-me is on the coaching staff?
Nevergiveup replied to evilcape's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wrong. He is a trainer and works with Head Trainer Bud Carpenter. Allaire was part of the coaching staff as strength and conditioning coach. -
That definitely got things started. It is also just not the type of media outlet you would ever want to have a relationship with. There really is no value to the team. No one actually gets there info from radio anymore. Which means all you are getting is their opinions. Why would any team want that? They would be better off releasing info here and taking the beating that comes with it. At least many people here are reasonably informed. It's unlikely that the WGR/Bills rift can ever be repaired. Greg Reid is also a big part of the problem. He is ultimately repsonsible for the amatuer hour that they call radio over there and has done nothing to improve it. I don't blame the Bills for freezing them out.

Which is why Schopp doesn't get any info from the team or have a relationship with them. That is what started this thread. You are right, they can continue give their opinion regardless of how uninformed it may be. However they should not expect to ever get anything from the Bills. Beacuse as you point out, they are not real journalists.
-
Exactly. It directly affected his job. Which is why he should go out of his way to work with the organization. Again, the Bills have no reason to try to develop a relationship with him. There are plenty of other outlets to focus on. I am sure it would be nice to work with the local sports station, but there is really no incentive fo them. Not to mention their games are carried elsewhere on a station that pays the team. Why help the competition? The onus is on Schopp to create the relationship. If the way he "interacts" with callers is any indication, that would be impossible. I can't blame them for not working with him. If you have listened to stations in other markets and satellite, it is pretty clear that he is simply not very good.

Who was the other "in house" candidate? John Guy?
Nevergiveup replied to BADOLBILZ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't disagree with you about being skeptical. Just stating that Gruden and Shanahan are alot more accomplished than any candidates that they have previously chased. It will be tough for the team to secure that type of coach, but if they do, I like the combination. I don't think I am lying to myself. If they have pursued coaches of this caliber before, let me know when that was. At least they are making the effort. Sorry for being too positive. -

Buddy is the perfect guy if you want a big name coach. He won't be interested in doing the coaches job. Just loading up the team with talent. Whether or not they get the big coach remains to be seen, but their pursuit of Gruden and Shanahan has to be viewed as a positive sign. First time they have ever gone after 2 coaches like that. -

Something we may have missed from the presser

He has worked on the football side for one season without any authority. Are you telling me that the Bills have not been successful on the business side under his watch? You have absolutely no idea what you are even looking at. -

DRG..you are dead on. Brandon has done an incredible job with this franchise. The only thing he should not have done was taken a GM title without the ability to hire anyone on the football side. But who knows if he even had a choice. Ralph may have just put him in that position. -

If you get the right coach it is not a bad set up. Buddy and the coach will be making the football related decisions and Brandon will be running the entire business letting Buddy focus on what he chould be focusing on. Finding good football players. -

Exactly. Buddy is the first football person hired on his watch. The coach will be the second. It will be interesting to see how it plays out. -

I don't think that will ever be dead in Buffalo until the CBA changes. Looks like business as usual and a good way to keep your top business person happy during the transition.
